Town librarian Mira James investigates the murder of one of her employees.
Lourey gives us a flawed, strong, resourceful heroine and fills her intriguing story with colorful secondary characters. The plot is well thought out and captivating.
A delightful read.
A fun, easy read, Entertaining and interesting.
This is the first book in the series that I have read and I enjoyed it so much that I bought the Summer Bundle, so I can read the three previous books in this series. I loved the quirkiness of the main character and found her descriptions in her daily encounters to be hilarious. During the last few chapters, I couldn’t read it fast enough to figure out the killer. This was a really fun read and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series!
Mind candy, but a fun read.
Wonderful, hilarious characters which made reading this a pleasure. Great plot!
Goood mystery. I grew to like the main character, by the end I was cheering for her. Interesting characters.
I love all of her books. The characters keep me engaged.
This was a very engaging mystery, full of twists and turns. I delighted in the setting and that involved, being from Northern Minnesota myself! The wacky characters caused many a chuckle to erupt from me as I read!
Loved the witt.
Slow at first, but I did enjoy the book
Quick, entertaining read
It wasn’t my favorite but it was worth taking the time to read.
Great, easy read
New author for me. Loved the book.
I loved this book. The characters were great!
Very good book easy to get into did not want to put down.
I almost gave up on this book early on because the main character seemed like an alcoholic loser. Fortunately, I read on far enough to see the story develop and her character improve. In the end, I found I enjoyed the storyline in this book very much… it’s a good mystery.
Very good!
This is an entertaining story about a confused librarian in a small town who thinks she is not an excellent librarian. She is as well as a great detective. The town has some very eccentric characters who add a lot of humor to this mystery story.
Mira is a mystery-solving, temporary librarian in Battle Lake Minnesota. In addition to finding herself in relationship issues and battling alcoholism, Mira is an ace gardener and a pet lover. She is determined to return to Minneapolis, has given her notice at the library, and she’s hired a replacement. Then Mira becomes aware of a new church that’s opened near town, and the pastor is threatening to close the library down. Thus begins the main conflict involving murder and danger. The book was an okay read, nothing special.
