Holy page turner! Monica is struggling with her marriage with Alex due to their past. She meets her new neighbor Quinn, the sexy artist. Through her adventures with Quinn, it strengthens her marriage with Alex.
Great start to this new series. This was my first book by this author and I am definitely looking forward to book 2. I love the characters but I especially love the story line because it’s very relatable. Can’t wait to see what book 2 has in story for us. Definitely recommended.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel because this is one of those tropes that is interesting to read but not something I’d condone in real life. Their story is written well and makes you feel it deeply. There’s so much going on in her emotionally. I want her to leave her husbands and find pure happiness. I’m not sure what’s going on with Alex and I want more from his version too. So curious about the next book!!!
New author to me. Read with open mind. Hit sex scenes, not for immature audience. I would have liked the characters to be more than one dimensional caricatures of married couple. This book is about sex, not having it, listing for it, cheating, and then Fixed. I wanted more depth. Writes very hot erotica. Not a romance book, more erotic in nature. Writes and delivers a hot story.
Wow…. emotionally intense…. A look into so many “what if’s”… I felt for Monica… she’s written just so flawlessly flawed. I could be her, or her best friend.
She’s so real, and right there, and struggling with life and all it’s ups and uglies.
I hope her story isn’t over. She’s someone to really root for, and I just don’t feel the battle is over.
I look forward to book 2.
I had a hard time getting into this story but I was rewarded because it got better page by page. Monica and Alex have a boring marriage so she wishes for excitement and when a very attractive artist moves in next door she lets her mind wander, but soon she is finding ways to see him and he to see her. Quinn is in love with Monica right from the beginning but he knows she is married but she is involved also, she struggles with anxiety and depression and this whole affair is pushing her right over the edge. The book left things open so I am curious how it will go.
As I read this book I was pulled in different directions I loved the fact that the characters were real in real relationships struggling with real problems. The stagnant marriage that has her veering off towards Quinn and the mental illness that helps to justify her actions was a well written plot that flowed well. I enjoyed this book and I may delve into the next.
Monica is struggling with her marriage with Alex due to their past. She meets her new neighbor Quinn, the sexy artist , that the have this amazing connection and have a pure hot chemistry together, I also loved the fact that the characters were real in real relationships struggling with real problems and how the characters would feel when faced with a partner cheating. this book is a good read , hurry and get it you wont regret it
I did take a while to get into this book. I do not condone cheating but I understand how Monica got to where she did. Though I do not have this experience, I do feel that this was a realistic portrayal of what could happen and how the characters would feel when faced with a partner cheating. I am glad that I stuck it out and will read the rest of the trilogy to see how the story ends.
Monica was somewhat of a hard read. I think she felt stuck in a dull marriage. I believe she did try, but not as hard as Alex. However, for a while I wasn’t sure if Alex was jealous and trying to compete with a man who was more physically fit than he was, knowing he could possibly lose his wife to Quinn, or was he really trying to better himself? Quinn is made out to be the typical, smart, sexy, great in bed, tattooed, artistic man that every woman wants. I wonder if Monica & Alex were completely happy in their marriage before (after struggle), or had they just settled into being comfortable before Quinn arrived, and an attraction made problems exist where they weren’t before?
There are two more books to figure out this story. I wonder what’s next?
Great book, I really enjoyed reading this book. The attraction between Monica and Quinn at the beginning was interesting. Then there’s the marriage life between Alex and Monica and how that flows through out the book, it feels like his still into her but she just doesn’t seem that into her husband when I first read the book. But it definitely gets interesting and is a good read. I also liked the way the author pulled out emotions and feelings that were happening between Quinn and Monica and it really made you feel the struggle of what lines not to cross and to well cross it anyways.
This is the first book the August Fog trilogy series. Monica is married to Alex. One day she comes home to a new neighbor. He definitely catches her eye. Quinn is an artist and he came to Los Angeles to start showing his work. Her marriage is ok but feels like she wants more. She feels like she is stuck. There are twist and turns and some parts very hot. I didn’t see the ending coming. A must read. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
The book started out as a slow read for me but picked up as things became more heated and interesting. Although I don’t usually read books about affairs, the characters are likable and I did enjoy the romance between Quinn and Monica, and was able to grasp their passion through the pages. Throughout the book I found myself going back and forth with who I hoped Monica would end up with, but by the end I found myself hoping she might call it off with both of them and find her happiness on her own. I don’t feel I would recommend it to a friend as a book I highly enjoyed, however it was a refreshing change from the books I usually read.
Monica is married to the love of your life who marriage is losing its luster. In walks Quinn the neighbor.
This book was an interesting read. It took a bit to get into the story but after a bit, it really picked up. Lots of heat and emotions and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the characters in the story.
Monica has torn feelings between her hot Nieghbor and her loving and caring husband. Quinn Matthews is her neighbor, the one she wants and lust over. Alex is her caring husband that she loves but something is missing. This book was a good read. It’s a bit slow for me but I did enjoy the triangle and at the end it did make me want more.
