One week.
Private beach.
Invisible girl.
Jerk-faced bully.
What’s the worst that could happen?
Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can’t escape the notice of Martin Sandeke — bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe’s hottest, wealthiest, and most … wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor — who also happens to be Kaitlyn’s chemistry lab partner.
Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn’t interested in exploiting his stunning rower’s build, chiseled features, and family’s billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.
When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?
Elements of Chemistry: ATTRACTION is the first part in a three part series; it is 45k words; and it ends with a cliffhanger.
Part 1 (ATTRACTION)
Part 2 (HEAT)
Part 3 (CAPTURE)

Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved this book. I literally, unequivocally could not put it down and am now gorging myself on the rest of the series.
4.5 “Bunsen burner” “life rules” “jerk-face” “synonyms” “Parker” “Sandeke” Kisses
Oh my sweet Bunsen burner – why?!!??! Why did I wait so long to read this series?!?!?! I think it truly boils down to it being a double edged sword because Jiminy Cricket I love every single thing that I’m reading but…like most of Penny’s books, I never want it to …
Witty and relatable. I love this book so far and I’m super excited to jump into the next book now.
This book is the first of three books that follow the couple. It ends on a cliff hanger. The second book, Heat is also very good. The third book Capture was way too long and dragged unnecessarily. An enjoyable read nonetheless.
Double wow!! Be prepared to dive into unpredictable with so many twist and turns, that when you arrive at the end you cannot not read the next book in this series. Absolutely fabulous, the underdog get the spotlight.
I read this book because it came as part of anthology of beach reads. I became very invested in Martin and Kaitlyn’s story. I think Kaitlyn could be really good for Martin but the ending of the book threw me. I knew it was a cliffhanger but it felt odd based on the previous scenes.
When I looked at the other books in this series I realized …
She overhears a male and female voice in the chemistry lab planning to drug a Martin. The only one she knows is the heir Sendake Telecom Systems. Martin was a 6’3″ physical manifestation of Hercules and captain of the rowing team. He was also a manwhore and kind of a jerk.
She can’t believe what she is hearing. They are planning to drug …
Reid brought out some hilarious one-liners for our main character in this one, Kaitlyn: “Praise Bunsen and his burner.” “Hot Hottie from Hotsville.” But this book gave me a lot of feels. Like the part about guys have the girls that they think are ones they would marry, and the others are only good for sex. That is horrible. I know it’s true …
A cute and charming romance where you least expect one! What starts out as a good deed, soon turns into so much more than Kaitlyn Parker ever thought possible. Coming from a no-drama family, where everything is scheduled, she has very little experience in the real world, but she’s incredibly smart and caring. Enter jerkface extraordinaire Martin …
For this book, 5 stars.
The problem is the series as a whole (and it’s really a single story arc in 3 books) doesn’t end all that great. I rated the last book at 3.5 stars. Mostly for being bloated.
I don’t mind paying more when a good story is 3 books long, but when the last story feels artificially long… I get frustrated. I think this would …
I really loved Kaitlyn and Martin’s story. Kaitlyn is just such an awkward, introverted lady. She doesn’t realize how beautiful she really is, and can’t really understand why Martin is attracted to her. Martin has always seemed like kind of a rude guy that seems to have a string of women at his disposal. When the two of them end up going on spring …
4+ Stars
For the very first time in the history of me reading a Penny Reid story, I’m not buying it. I call bullshit! There is no freaking way these people are practically kids. And yet… I don’t give a flying fig because this book is SO FREAKING GOOD!!!
Now, the first thing you need to know about Attraction is that it ends in a cliffhanger to …
I read this book pretty much in a day. I don’t know what it was about it, but I LOVED this story and characters. The back and forth between Kaitlyn and Martin is so insanely great. I literally laughed out loud at certain points of dialogue from Kaitlyn. Her personality and humor shine in this book and it’s no wonder Martin wants her so badly! They …
Smart, original, unique, fun. LOVED IT!
Didn’t know it was a serial.
Another great book
It’s really for teenagers or college age students but it kept me interested.
I hate cliffhangers
Too raunchy for me right off the bat. I’ve enjoyed books by this author before but this one was too much for me. I only read part of the book before I deleted it.
Absolutely loved this series!! Highly recommend!
