I never dreamed I’d meet my celebrity crush while stealing every single pair of my best friend’s pants. Trust me, my life is not that wild. In fact, the most excitement I usually get is running my fan-favorite Insta thirst account featuring butt-tastic pics of Hollywood superhero Carter Hayes. So, imagine my shock when, in the middle of the cruise ship hallway, I realize the guy whose shirt I’m … shirt I’m stuffing slacks inside of is Carter disguised as a tourist. How I manage not to faint dead away, I’ve got no clue.
When word leaks that Carter might be on board, he asks me to help him maintain his cover. There’s no way I’m gonna say no to that. I just don’t share that I’m the anonymous woman behind the fan account that reported sighting him onboard. No biggie. Right?
However, when things between us go from friendly to hot to OMG-I-can’t-keep-my-clothes-on-around-him, all I can do is hope he never discovers my secret. You see, somewhere along the way, Carter went from an untouchable movie star to the man I’m falling for.
Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans. Be sure to check out all of the books in the standalone Gone Wild books!

This was such an enjoyable read. It was a quick read, but one I couldn’t stop gobbling up. I love the sense of humor Avery Flynn writes with. One of the things I enjoyed the most. I also loved getting another taste of Salvation. That made me real happy. Aubrey along with her friends since college take a cruise to reconnect. Aubrey is going to get more then she ever bargained for. Carter and Aubrey have great chemistry. Their banter was another one of my favorite parts of the book.
A Laugh out loud, sexy, fun and emotional adventure filled with exciting charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists, exciting secrets, heartwarming moments and thrilling passion… loved it! Really enjoyed this fun and entertaining journey!
5 best friends from college get together on a singles cruise. Each friends get a story by 5 different authors. This is Aubrey’s story. Aubrey is on the cruise to hang out with her Best Friends and to get back a little of who she was. Life hasn’t turned out the way she wanted and Aubrey went from the fun loving prankster to the responsible adult who goes to bed early and wakes up early to make the donuts. While stealing her friends Grace pants Aubrey is caught by a handsome passenger who she ends up recruiting to help her. Turns out it’s her crush actor Carter Hayes and she lets slip that he is on their cruise. Carter is trying to prove he could change his look and No one would notice to win a part but a blog post threatens to expose him so he recruits the woman who he caught stealing her friends pants to help him stay incognito. This was a sweet, hot fast read. The chemistry between these two are explosive, but what happens when the secret your keeping is exposed. Loved this book and can’t wait to read the other’s in this series.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
This book is everything I needed right now. It is full of light hearted humour and has an engaging storyline that will keep you invested in the book from start to finish. I can’t remember the last time I smiled and laughed so much in a book. This book was a real joy to read! This book is the perfect fantasy come to life. Imagine having a crush on a celebrity and then being on a cruise where said celebrity is also on and it just so happens that the celebrity ends up needing help. I mean, that would pretty much be the perfect scenario and it just so happened to happen to Aubrey and the man of her dreams, Carter. I loved their chemistry, the light hearted moments of the story and how relatable the characters were in this book. This is book three in an interconnected series. I haven’t read the other books but can’t wait to check them out. This book can be read as a complete standalone.
I’m a big Avery Flynn fan, and I really like her writing style, from solid plots to great conversation to really expressive emotions.
This is part of a multi-author series of books, and they all very greatly based on the authors’ writing styles and tropes, but they are all good stand-alones and you do not need to read them all.
Aubrey meets her celebrity crush, Carter, on a cruise. She’s snarky, flirtatious, and the banter between the two of them is amazing. and this book delivers of the romcom goodness that you expect from Avery Flynn.
Carter, although a celebrity, seems like just a really great guy. A real boy-scout type, he’s prepared, he actually cares and listens, and his relationship with his brother humanizes him, too.
Aubrey cannot believe the Clark Kent looking guy caught her stealing her uptight friend Grace’s pants and then asked him to stuff those pants down his so Grace wouldn’t catch her. Doh! And she’s even more freaked out when she realizes her Clark Kent is actually Carter Hayes, the movie star she drools over and about whom she has an anonymous Instagram thirst account dedicated to. Even more humiliating? Outing the man’s presence on their cruise ship and not having the guts to tell him who she is, even after she starts falling in real love with him. Will Carter ever forgive her for her lie of omission or will the possible ruin to his career be too much for him to take?
Attracting Aubrey is another seriously sexy, fun installment of the Gone Wild series. So far the series has batted a 2 out of 3 and I’m really enjoying it. This one is particularly likable, as Carter is such a sweetheart, paired perfectly with sweet, slightly scattered Aubrey.
Ms. Flynn’s books are always so much fun and this one is no different.
I loved Carter & Aubrey. Pranks and shenanigans can be fun, but they both find that they can hurt as well, even if unintentionally. But they will find that the love that has developed is so much stronger and that they can get through anything if they just talk to each other.
Wow!! Loved this book! Avery is such a talented writer. So much comedy in her writing. I connected strongly with these characters too. Aubrey is so wild and fun loving and Carter is career oriented. They get together and compliment each other completely.
Loved the chapter of Loud Mouth at the end of this book too. I hit the preorder button straight away.
Attracting Aubrey is a stand-alone, cute and sexy book in the Gone Wild series. The action and the main couples meet-cute start off with a bang, which just adds to the fun.
Carter is a very popular actor, in fact, he’s Aubrey obsession, so it makes sense that she recognizes him right away. It’s a bit of a belief suspension that more people don’t realize who he is, even on a fun and free-loving singles cruise. But just go with it, because it adds to comedy of their adventure.
Both Carter and Aubrey are likable characters and the little bits we see of her college friends made me want to read their stories, too. I do wish there was more interaction between the friends than there actually is, though.
While not as long or as storyline driven as my favorite Avery Flynn books, Attracting Aubrey is a lighthearted cruise of fun.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
Avery Flynn is one of my go-to authors so I knew that I had to read this book. I was immediately drawn into this with the synopsis and after the first page, I already had a smile on my face.
The writing quality is top-notch and just what I expect when I pick up a book from Avery Flynn. She flawlessly weaves humor, heat, and passion into her stories.
I really loved Aubrey and Carter’s characters. They were easy to connect to and identify with. Since this is such a short book, a novella really, the characters are missing some of the depth that I am used to when I read one of Flynn’s books. There are enough stepping stones to cement each character’s basic backstory and desires but it ends there. I just felt like I wanted more. And while the characters had nice development for what the author shares with us about them, they still felt very bare bones.
Carter and Aubrey do have some nice chemistry. They meet in a totally humorous situation and their connection is immediate. What I didn’t care for in terms of the romance was all the instalove. I am not a fan of instalove and I much rather a couple get to know each other for more than a few days before they profess their love for one another. It wouldn’t have been so bad if we got more scenes with them spending time together that wasn’t between the sheets. Instalove aside, Carter and Aubrey definitely had an attraction and a connection.
I really loved the premise for this story and the plot develops nicely. The one thing that I would have changed about the book would be the length. I think that if this had been a full novel instead of a novella then it would have been perfect. Keeping the length so short really isn’t doing the story any favors. It’s still a good read, I just think that it could have been fleshed out a little more.
Overall, this was a quick, steamy, and entertaining story that was so much fun to read. That is one of the qualities that I love most about Avery Flynn’s books is how she makes each story fun and they always put a smile on my face. While I very much wish that the story had been longer with some more depth, it is still a satisfying read.
Quick and to the point! Aubrey’s past revolved around her being the wild child party girl, but as an adult has moved into more of a responsible role helping her grandmother run her business. Taking a break from the real world, she goes on a cruise with her college friends, desperate for the ability and chance to let loose. On the cruise she meets Carter, who she quickly realize is a movie star she was attracted/obsessed with and they realize they have chemistry. As the cruise continues, the feelings and attraction flow, with Carter unknowing that Aubrey is responsible for the social media account that’s risking his chances at a new project. When he finds out though, it changes the game and Aubrey runs home with her tail between her legs, unable to get the chance to speak her piece. Thankfully, Carter works through his feelings and decides to follow them and give Aubrey the chance to defend herself. This was somewhat of an awkward book – some parts went fast while others were a little confusing, but overall it was a good book. Definitely read the first two in the series because Aubrey’s character will make more sense.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was a rather cute novella centering on aubrey and her idol! Little does she know when she goes on a cruise with her good friends! There is definitely some fun to be had in this story and entertaining moments as well! When she discovers someone on her cruise needless to say you are definitely in for sizzling steamy times! However what happens when Aubreys secret comes out? This was definitely a good lighthearted read!
I know when I pick up an Avery Flynn romance, I’m going to have a smile on my face. Attracting Aubrey, the third in the Gone Wild series, doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed Aubrey and Carter so much. I only wish that there was more to read. I did not want to put this one down.
Fast, fun read that’s over too soon.
Attracting Aubrey by Avery Flynn is book 3 in the ‘Gone Wild’ series written by five different authors. I haven’t the two previous books but after having devoured this one in a single sitting, I’m about to rectify that matter.
This is a continuing story of five college friends who decided to go on a cruise together but ended up being sent to the singles’ version of what they had booked.
I laughed out loud at the antics this group of friends got up to, but when it came to time alone between Carter and Aubrey, the heat setting went through the roof. The chemistry between these two characters was palpable, and their back and forth banter was witty and full of sexual innuendo.
Aubrey just wants to forget her small-town life, while Carter, a Hollywood movie star, just wants to prove he can be incognito when he wants. He’s trying to win a role in a new movie and doesn’t need any attention fixed on him from fans.
This was a fast, fun read and it’s only failing was that it was too short, I’d have loved a full novel from this group of friends.
What girl doesn’t dream about getting a shot at the celebrity who is the object of their lust? But what would you do when you are suddenly presented with that chance in real life – especially if your recent act-before-you-think action could jeopardize everything when he finds out?
Attracting Aubrey takes you down that exact path for a little bit of hot, sexy and steamy fun on a singles cruise. Aubrey is there to reconnect with her closest friends from college but never in a million years could she have dreamed that Carter Hayes would end up in the stateroom next door to her or that he would be a willing participant in Aubrey’s pants stealing shenanigans. When he confides his reason for being on the ship, she realizes her social media post could ruin everything but she has no cell or internet service to be able to delete it.
As she gets to know the man behind the media depiction, she realizes she is already a goner for him. But every time she tries to fess up to being the person behind the social media account that gives him grief, he redirects or she chickens out. The fallout when he finds out has the potential to be epic but she can’t pass up one more chance to be with him.
Despite the fact you pretty much knew what was going to happen for it did, this was a great fun filled quick read that I enjoyed because I went in with that expectation.
Four and a half stars
Attracting Aubrey by Avery Flynn is the third in the Gone Wild multi-author series about a group of friends who inadvertently end up in a singles cruise. Aubrey Dean was known as a bit of a wild child in college; her friends all know she’s up for fun or for pulling a prank 😉 They’d never recognize the woman she is back home. Since she’s returned to her hometown to help her grandmother recover from a stroke, she’s had to put her own dreams aside. Instead of working on her writing, she’s up before the crack of dawn baking and running her grandmother’s bakery. Her one guilty pleasure is an anonymous Instagram account devoted to The Admiral, a superhero played by actor Carter Hayes. Little does she realize that due to a quirk of fate, the random guy she ropes into helping her pull off a pants prank on board? None other than yes, one Carter Hayes, who is trying to slide under the radar.
Carter hasn’t had this much fun in years, maybe ever. Impersonating his stodgy dental assistant cousin from Iowa has kept his real identity on the down low, so he hopes. Except for an incriminating post on some fan’s IG, no one seems to have any idea they’re in the presence of a superstar…
Avery Flynn’s Attracting Aubrey is a fun, flirty secret-identity story… The tension of the secrets kept is well-written, and Ms Flynn does a terrific job with the characters and dialogue. Great read in a fantastic get-away from it all series!
I am generally a fan of romances featuring Hollywood movie stars, and Avery Flynn’s “Attracting Aubrey” was no exception to that rule. It was a super cute, fun, and flirty story that kept me smiling the entire time I was reading. Main characters Carter and Aubrey were very likeable and well-developed in spite of the story’s short length, and I really appreciated that there wasn’t a typical insta-love feel to their relationship development. Between the forced proximity of being on a cruise ship together and faking a relationship in an effort to maintain Carter’s cover, it felt like they were able to get to know each other pretty well in a short period of time, which made their feelings for each other more believable to me.
I adored Carter, who seemed very down to Earth despite growing up in Hollywood as the child of two famous actors before becoming famous himself. He was sweet, funny, and, of course, handsome; based on the various descriptions of him in the book, I couldn’t help but picture him as a Chris Evans lookalike. Aubrey was also very funny and apparently the prankster of her friend group, but she had a good heart and looked out for those she loved. She gave up a lot to move back to her hometown after college to take over her grandmother’s bakery, even though she had no interest in (or talent for) baking herself.
Despite their very different backgrounds, Aubrey and Carter seemed to have a lot in common. For example, they both wanted to be taken seriously for their talents (writing for Aubrey and acting for Carter). In addition, each of them was unhappy with the current direction of their life and was looking to make a change. Boarding the cruise and meeting each other was exactly the spark they needed to point their lives in a new direction, and both Carter and Aubrey ended up much happier for it.
Overall, “Attracting Aubrey” was a lighthearted and delightful story, and I found it to be a perfect distraction from the craziness of current events. I highly recommend it for all romantic comedy fans whether or not they have read the other books in the Gone Wild series or any of Ms. Flynn’s previous works.

I loved Aubrey & Carter so much!! Aubrey is living out most every woman’s dream to randomly bump into their favorite movie star & be hit with out of control chemistry. I loved watching Carter try to hide his identity! These two were so entertaining. Make time to be able to read it in one sitting! It’s so good you won’t want to stop!
Attracting Aubrey by Avery Flynn is book Three in the Gone Wild Series. This is the story of Aubrey and Carter. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one but you could read this as a standalone book. Carter is very famous in Hollywood and is on this cruise trying to have a low profile. Aubrey in on the cruise to connect again with her college friends along with a vacation. What she finds is they are on a single party cruse with the Hollywood Royalty. Of course she spreads the word about Carter. Carter didn’t know seem to know it was Aubrey that let is slip but he does ask her to help him moving forward. So this puts them in close quarters that escalate their attraction. Enjoyed their story.
This book was good, let’s start with that. It jumps right into the action, with Carter catching Aubrey in the middle of pranking her friend. And, of course, she draws him right into the thick of things. The two click instantly and there’s a fun vibe between with some playful banter and basic push-and-pull interactions. Things progress from there in a rather haphazard but mostly believable sequence of events.
I did find it hard to believe though that Aubrey basically blew off her best friends from college for pretty much the entire cruise. Especially since the only reason that she suppposedly went on it in the first place was to hang out with them. I get that she’s instead spending time with this great new guy that she is crazy about, but I would have expected at least a bit more interaction with her buddies.
There were a smattering of love scenes that were pretty hot, but the chemistry between these two just didn’t seem to jump off the page as much as it might have. I’ve read other works by this author that I quite enjoyed, and I just felt that this one could have somehow been… more.
Regardless of that, the story is a fairly good one, with this fun couple getting to know one another (even if under some false pretenses). The near end was a bit rough, and rather extreme in some aspects. But at least it did have a cute and totally believeable happily-ever-after ending.
I’ve never been too convinced that a cruise would really be for me. And with the recent problems due to illness outbreaks and such, I’m now even less inclined to try one. So this book served as a nice alternative adventure in that regard. I got to stay safe and sound on dry land while getting to vicariously experience some of the more fun aspects.
Each of the standalone romances in the Gone Wild series are written by a different author. I’d be interested to read the others in order to discover what type of experience the other characters of this group had on their cruise.
