A romance novel filled with community, friendship, family, and forgiveness from Lyz Kelley, an award-winning author of Blinded. She’s hiding a dangerous secret. They will come after her. It’s only a matter of time. Because of her dad, she’s lost everything. She’s lying low in the small Colorado town and playing interior decorator for a millionaire with money to spend. She’s not sure how long … decorator for a millionaire with money to spend. She’s not sure how long she’s got to come up with a plan before they track her down.
It’s a good thing her millionaire bachelor boss knows nothing about her past. Even though he’s a super-sexy-geek, the type she secretly craves, she needs to keep him at a distance.
Letting anyone in her life might just get them killed.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Rachelle deals with guilt she feels from what her father did but finds her way. Jacob also dealing with quilt from his best friend and business partner. A easy quick read you will love to read.
Another great book about the resiliency of the human spirit. Ms. Kelley captures the flavor of the gaming world, codependency, and the ever driving need individuals have to be loved, needed and appreciated while maintaining some semblance of independence. Although the protagonists are dealing with heavy issues, Lyz continues to intersperse her book with her signature dry humour with characters like Drew, Etch and Sketch. Atonement is a beautifully constructed book which I highly recommend. It can be read as a standalone, but I would encourage you to read the series.
As with all of this authors work this book is worth both the investment of your time and money!
I was a little bit worried about whether I would like Rachelle’s story because she’s always been the “mean girl” of Elkridge, but this book was so good I even started rooting for her and Jacob. Jacob brought out the best in Rachelle and they were so great together. This is a well written book with characters that are real, honest and well developed. Love the Lonely Ridge Collection and I am looking forward to the next book.
A well written book. I didn’t want to read about Rachelle but Lyz Kelley made me really enjoy the character and see what made her the way she was. It was an enlightening book. I highly recommend it – we all need a second chance and someone to understand us. Well done, Lyz!
As always a well written story about some of the folks in Elkridge.
Rachelle is a survivor. After been more of her fathers ’string-puppie’ for years, she now tries to understand who she really is.
She meets Jakob – a data/game geek – when she is hired to re-decirate his new house. It used to be her home before her father was sent to jail.
If you put in the people in Elkridge in the plot and you have a wonderful story.
I’m just waiting for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Atonement
I truly, truly, loved this one. I loved the depth of emotions reached. I loved the relatable and complex characters. I loved the dynamic storyline. I loved Rachelle and Jacob. That is a lot of love.
I volunteered to review an arc of this book, and, of course, I had to buy it.
What a wonderful story on how a daughter has to deal with the sins of a parent.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
In this well written suspenseful romance, Rachelle’s world was well-ordered, perhaps a little too well-ordered, considering her father governed her every move. When her world disintegrates over night, Rachelle is left having to pick up the pieces and to face a town that hates her family name. Despite her facade, she is a sensitive person with the soul of an artist, but not too many people have seen that side of her. Her first inkling that there are people on her side comes from someone she thought hated her, but when she meets up with Jacob, the new owner of her old home, she begins to think there is some hope for her. There were a few gaps in the story, but the writer does fill in the blanks in ensuing dialogue and chapters. All in all apart from Jacob’s brother who did his best to sabotage her, Rachelle and the rest of the characters in this book are endearing and likeable. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, and felt the heartache and pain of the characters as well as the suspenseful undertones of the story line. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Rachelle has had a hard life. Always under the thumb of a criminal father who would make her do anything to get what he wants. When his criminal ways catch up with him and he ends up in jail, that leaves Rachelle alone. Her brother has run off to parts unknown and left his dog in her care. Her life is falling apart as she goes from riches to rags when the government locks up their accounts. Rachelle is thankfully headstrong and begins doing whatever she can for jobs to survive. When she gets a job for Jacob Reyes doing some interior design life begins to shift for her.
This is a romance about second chances, healing and friends to lovers! A great 5 star read.
