Pain, horror, disappointment… only one who can hear her prayers for survival. Cara has no idea who she’s reaching out to, but I do. I’ve faced him before and lost everything.
To stand any chance of saving her, I’ll have to take her before Ri does. Getting us to the one place I’m banished from won’t be easy. Death awaits at every turn. With Cara’s secrets coming to the surface, we may not reach safety before Ri discovers…she has the power to destroy us all.

This is my first Alaska book and it was different in so many ways from what I “normally” read. However it doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it.
The characters were strong and the action was good the plot thought out and the sexy times were on point!
The ending was not fully what I was expecting. That isn’t good or bad just different.
“Before birth, we all chose our soul’s mission.”
I went into this book blind. Didn’t read the blurb and have never read the author. So imagine my surprise when I figured out it was a supernatural kinda of read! I loved it!! I will definitely be reading more from this author and I want more Atlas, Cara, Ryder and Kelu!!!!
“I think if it weren’t for the dark, we’d have no reason to fall in love with the stars. It is the dark that allows them to shine.”
I am not really sure where to start with this review. My forte is usually in reviewing the darker more depraved types of books. I have never read or had to review a book such as Atlas Lost.
Once in awhile a book comes along and is not what you expected and surprises you, and you realize that you may have bypassed reading a superb book because of personal preferences. To put it bluntly, this is not a book or genre that I would normally pick up and read, but Alaska Angelini is one of my few automatic one clicks, so I read all her words regardless of genre.
In Atlas Lost, Angelini has brought us a theosophical read that enlightens the reader spiritually. She has melded this metaphysical philosophy with romance and produced a story that has charmed and entertained me as a reader. This is so vastly different than what one would normally expect from this author. Compared to some of her other work this story could be referred to as light and pure.
~Light isn’t always good and dark isn’t always bad.~
As in life and everything spiritual, the pull between light and dark is predominant in Atlas Lost. Atlas is the King of Paltenians and represents everything light. Ri is the king of the Ri and represents everything dark. Cara, a human biologist gets caught in the war between these two divine kings. She ascends spiritually and physically and becomes the catalyst to end an age old war between the two species.
~I think if it weren’t for the dark, we’d have no reason to fall in with with the stars. It is the dark that allows them to shine.~
Angelini has blown me away with this story. It is original, unique, and unconventional. Not only is she a sweet, kind and generous individual, but also has an extreme talent in writing stories. She has my adoration, my admiration and my respect of the author and person that she represents.
I highly recommend and suggest this read. Whatever your preferred genre, this story will capture your attention and open your mind.
I received this book through a contest on Facebook. An OMG how I love this book! Atlas lost his wife and child, and decided to live a life away from his throne and away from his people on earth. His enemy on the other hand had other plans! Ri the king of his people still has a hold on Atlas, and sets a plan in motion. I’m comes Cara, Atlas’s twin flame, together they try to find a way to stop Ri from claiming Cara and using her new found powers, for evil. The Characters are awesome I found myself able to relate to each of them in a different perspective. SometimesI would cheer for Ri (I like a bad man)! All in all I was swept into a different world. And I can’t wait until a new book comes out with Ri and Kelu!
