Meet the Naughty Princess Club: a brand new series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that introduces readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity–and romance–that ensue when three women start a new business to make it rain. Once upon a time Cynthia was the perfect housewife. Between being the President of the PTA and keeping her home spotless without a hair (or her pearls) out of … (or her pearls) out of place, her life was a dream come true. Her husband was once her knight in shining armor, but now he’s run off with all their money…and the babysitter.
Dressed as a princess at the annual Halloween block party on Fairytale Lane, she meets two other “princesses” also facing money troubles: antique store owner Ariel and librarian Isabelle. When the women are invited to wear their costumes to a party where they’re mistaken for strippers, Cindy, Ariel, and Belle realize that a career change could be the best way to make their money problems go bippity-boppity-boo.
But can structured Cindy approach a stripper pole without sanitizing wipes? And could the blue-eyed anti-prince that has been crossing her path become Cindy’s happily ever after? At the Stroke of Midnight is a hilarious, empowering story where princesses can save themselves while slaying in stilettos.

The hilarity in this book…I almost need to put on a pair of Depends. So many times I almost peed myself. I’ve read my fair share of romantic twists to the fairytale princesses we all know and love, but this was the first to crack me up and get me horny all at the same time.
Tara Sivec’s humor is apparent in her characters. Their personalities were bold and lifelike and beyond memorable. Cynthia is the quintessential housewife. She’s spent years of her life striving to be the perfect wife and mother only to learn that perfection means nothing when you’re married to a narcissistic douchebag. Now she has to pause and re-evaluate her life and “find herself.” With the help of her new friends Isabelle and Ariel, she gets the support she needs to let go of all those years of conditioning to break all her barriers and be the person she should have always been.
This book was a story of empowerment and humor that blended perfectly for a well rounded, entertaining story.
I enjoyed every page.
Tara Sivec never disappoints me with her hilarious imagination! Its a feel good book that has a great message…Be true to yourself! This book will definitely be a reread for me especially when I’ve finished a dark book.
You can not go wrong with this author. Have followed her for years and will continue to do so. Laugh out loud funny, witty banter between her characters. Puts me in a good mood and makes me smile.
I loved this!!! Can’t wait to read Belle’s story next!!! <3
Cynthia is a housewife and mother who had a seemingly perfect life, but when her husband left her alone, without money or means to support the household, she sees the world as she knows it crumbling in front of her eyes.
She’ll then meet and befriend two other women that have a lot in common with her and an outrageous misunderstanding will point them in a direction they never expected their lives to go.
In good Tara Sivec’s fashion, the book is a hilarious take on a classic fairy tale and has everything you could expect. It’s sexy, romantic, funny and, more than anything else, empowering. Cynthia’s path to self-discovery is one worth following and it will definitely provide food for thought as well as a good time.
I loved everything about this book and enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend you give a chance to all the Naughty Princesses and their stories.
shows women CAN do anything
This is the book you need to read if you want to have FUN! Naughty, punny, empowering, and laugh-out-loud hilarious fun!
Three unlikely friends – a type A housewife (Cindy), a mouthy antiques dealer (Ariel), and a nerdy librarian (Belle) – team up after being tricked into thinking they’d be princesses at a little girl’s birthday party. Turn’s out it was a bachelor party . . . But being broke and desperate made them take a chance on an unlikely business venture: The Naughty Princess Club.
“With a little confidence and my new friends by my side, I can do anything.”
Strong, sexy, independent women and hot, charming, irresistible men are the perfect mix for a great story with classic fairy tale elements that will make you laugh, swoon, shed a tear or two, and believe in happily ever afters.
*Note: I actually read In Bed With the Beast (Naughty Princess Club #2) and then read At the Stroke of Midnight after I realized it was a three part stand-alone series.
Great news! I can finally fit into my old pair of jeans because I laughed my ass off while reading At the Stroke of Midnight. We’re talking tears rolling down my face laughter that lasted throughout the entire book.
This is the first book in the Naughty Princess Club series. Three women—Cynthia, Ariel, and Belle—meet and bond over their equally dire financial circumstances. They decide to go into business together to help solve their money problems.
The concept is really clever. Each woman shares striking similarities to their Disney princess namesakes, only in modern form. Cynthia (Cindy) went from living with her wretched stepmother and stepsisters in a trailer park to living in a McMansion on Fairytale Lane with her millionaire husband. Ariel is passionate about collecting antiques. Belle lives in her father’s basement and works at the local library.
This is Cindy’s story. She is a snobby prude, a perfect wife and mother, with perfect hair, perfect clothes, a perfect home, and a perfect life. That is until her husband runs off with the babysitter leaving her with divorce papers, bills, and no way to support herself and their daughter. Fortunately, she can count on Ariel and Belle for support.
Ariel is blunt and crass, with a wicked sense of humor. I looked forward to every interaction she has with her friends. Her affect on Cindy is nothing short of hilarious.
For me, this story is less about Cindy’s romance with PJ Charming, and more about her finding her voice and independence. I did enjoy their relationship, though—especially PJ’s decidedly un-princely behavior in the beginning.
There is A LOT of swearing in this book, so if that’s something that offends you this might not be right for you. Too much gratuitous swearing tends to turn me off. However, it’s a key part of Ariel’s personality, and I thought it was hysterical.
Tara Sivec kept surprising me by inserting small touches here and there from the original fairytales. It truly is charming. If this book doesn’t cure you of the blues, I don’t know what will.
I loved the dialog, when a book makes you laugh at loud that you immediately message your other reading friends to get it, I consider it soul food! I’ll be reading more of this author – this book was too fun not to follow up.
This book is funny and very true to life. Sexy and fun what a great combination. Tara Sivec is my new favorite author!! Bring on more books.
There were a lot of things I liked about this story. The characters were fun and the story was witty. I only gave it three stores because sometime ithere was too much exposition. The author seemed to use a lot of word to say the same thing over and over and the real story took a while to get started. But once it did I enjoyed it.
The book is laugh out loud, snort so hard you hurt yourself funny. Literally sitting at work trying not to chortle while reading this was one of the toughest things I have ever had to do. It took me about a chapter to really warm up to Ariel, cause she was just obnoxious as all get out. She is loud, crass, and really doesn’t give a hoot who likes it. The friggin by play between her and Eric kept me laughing so hard. It was hysterical with a side of steamy times. This was such an original story and I loved every second of this book. This is told in Ariel’s pov.
Hysterical! A laugh out loud book. Loved the characters. One of those books you don’t want to end. Had to read the next book in the series and can’t wait for the next book. I’m looking to see what else is written by this author. I’ve become a high fan
First, I need to be part of this Naughty Princess club, like STAT!! I mean these ladies who come together when their lives at their lowest and form this group, it’s amazing. Incredible, and I want to be part of this. I love this club.
Also, I love this whole dynamic and spin off of fairy tales. Cynthia, Isabelle, and Ariel three women with three very different personalities coming together will literally have you laughing so loud. Then it will pull at your heart, because behind every fairy tale, there’s a lesson to be learned. This romantic comedy is no less.
I loved At the Stroke of Midnight, and I’m so ready to jump into next one, In Bed with the Beast.
I highly recommend this book and more importantly, I highly recommend this series. There’s no way you can start this series and not finish it.
This was another great book in this series. I loved all three stories. I definitely recommend this book, this author and this funny and sexy series.
5 Stars What a kick off to an amazing series. This set of books has me so excited to read and find out what happens next. Cindy, Belle, and Ariel are absolutely hilarious. Their friendship and loyalty to one another is something that really makes this book perfection! This book is not just funny. It is hysterical and makes you really start to question the level of your sanity. I know I did. I can totally imagine myself acting the same way in these situations. I highly recommend this series. The chemistry with the characters are so on point, the story is fantastic and fun. You will not be disappointed. – By Cat
This is the first in the Naughty Princess Club and it was awesome.
Three girls down on their luck and not ones you would expect to see help each other or become best friends.
This book is as always laugh out loud funny with Tara Sivec’s books.
Cynthia is a stay at home mom who is a super snob and in charge of everything she can be. 9 months ago her husband left her with all their money and nothing to help support her daughter she tried as hard as she could to make ends meat and not let the world know her dirty laundry. An unexpected visit from her “trashy” neighbor Ariel turned two friendenemies into friends and future business partners.
Ok let me first say that I have never read a Tara Sivec book until now and I have to say what the hell have I been doing with my time. I loved At the Stroke of Midnight. I’m not sure I laughed so hard while reading a book in my life. It was just what I was looking for with the start of summer. Tara Sivec has taken one of the best fairytales and spun it into something funny, sexy, and empowering. Cynthia, Ariel, and Isabelle are killer trio. (See what she did there)
Cynthia has hit rock bottom and she is caught in a hard place. But when she meets Ariel and Isabelle they get invited to wear their princess costumes to a birthday party. When they are mistaken for strippers a stroke of genius overtakes them to help come up with the money they all so desperately need. The whole thing was genius. But Cynthia needs the help of P.J. Charming who owns a strip club to get pointers for their new business and not one of the women are experienced at stripping.
In Cynthia’s desperation to take care of herself and her daughter she is willing to do anything. This causes her to have to come out of her uptight comfort zone. This comes in the help of brash Ariel who says whatever comes to mind, she curses like a sailor, and is the best friend Cynthia could have ever hoped for. I loved her and how she helped Cynthia shed the persona put on her by her husband and his parents. They molded her into what they wanted her to be. It was seeing Cynthia find herself. She was loving her body and her confidence grew.
What I also liked is her growing relationship with P.J. It started out with her hating him and rightfully so. But damn if he wasn’t so damn charming and everything Cynthia needed in a man. I loved them together and the romance will have you gushing. He was also great with Cynthia’s daughter Anastasia.
At the Stroke of Midnight was so damn funny. Most of it came from the crazy stuff that came out of Ariel’s mouth and the ridiculous facts Isabelle kept spewing. But as opposite as these three women were, they made for some great friends. Cynthia had me laughing a lot as she tried out cursing, her drunken rants, and her awkwardness around P.J. But she was a good person, a great mom, and deserved so much more than he shitty husband laid on her. I could read this book over and over again and never get tired of it. I want to punch myself for never reading a Tara Sivec book before because I love her writing and if this book is an indicator, she is funny as hell. This is a must read book.
This was such a fun book! I had such a great time with it and laughed out loud throughout most of it. I can’t recommend enough!
What a great Rom-com with a princess twist. Poor Cindy and her neat and tidy so called perfect life has hit rock bottom. She has to take her life by the balls and put it back together with the help of Belle and Ariel. Oh, and there’s PJ. OMG I thought he was a little Jerks McGee when he and Cindy first meet, but holy cannoli did he ever grow on me. A lot. That yummy man is the best thing to ever happen to Cindy.
This book had me smiling from ear to ear. I can not wait for the other two books to come out. I do have say that I have a super duper giant size girl crush on Ariel. Most of her parts had me laughing my butt off. Oh how I wish everyone had a friend like Ariel. She’s a certified badass!

The damsel in distress princess and the perfect prince is for little girls. In At The Stroke Of Midnight, Tara gives us the not so perfect princesses that can shake their ass… I mean to save their own ass JUST KIDDING I mean both!!! All while taming & claiming the asshole prince too! This funny and original retelling of a Cinderella story is sure to make you laugh out loud.
Cynthia (our main character) gets a large dose of reality that doesn’t just knock her off her high horse. But spits in her face too. She isn’t dislikable in the beginning but you do want her to stop behaving as if life is perfect. You want to throw your kindle when you see how blind she is to the world around her and just how bad she’s let her life become because she was in denial …
In walks Ariel.
Now I know our favorite character is supposed to be our heroine … but NO Ariel quickly became my FAVORITE!! Rude, crude, brave, and a true spitfire. I can totally relate to her personality and humor that I instantly fell in love with her. You’re supposed to love the main character the heroin. Don’t get me wrong. She’s great. But Ariel’s crude no filter having ass makes this story and (#iAmAriel) #SorryNotSorry. Crude protective and IDGAF when it comes to protecting and helping my friends. Ariel is my soul sister for sure.
Cynthia and Ariel quickly become fast friends that decide to help each other out of the mess their lives have become. Add in Isabelle the quite, smart, and timid friend and you’ve just hit the best friend trifecta!! (FYI… Isabelle reminds me of Velma from Scooby-Doo everyone likes Velma right? I do *shrugs)
These girls get themselves into some funny situations that truly make the pages fly by! Yes, we have romance but these girls…this friendship, is what makes this book and what is sure to make this standalone series EPIC!!
At The Stroke Of Midnight has real characters that jump off the pages. Girl power that strengthens your faith in women (when they stick together) and a romance that makes you laugh and makes your heart melt! I can’t wait for others in this series. I already miss my new friends and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Ariel and Isabelle.
