You know what they say about wine, right? It gets better with age.
Christian: Assistant to the General of Fort Dale isn’t the easiest job, but I love it. Making General Winter’s life easier is worth every bit of hassle. He’s a good man, and I respect him…a lot. Of course, I’m toeing the line because, God, he’s hot too. Sure, he’s a lot older than me, but I know how to behave and our relationship … how to behave and our relationship is strictly professional…until I stumble across an email, with a video! Then suddenly, everything is different.
David: I’ve seen everything in my time running Fort Dale. It comes with the territory, being the big man on top. After almost ten years I honestly believe the hardest thing in my life is being tempted by my extremely capable, good looking and very young assistant. No, not going there, that’s a really bad idea! Things get worse when a ghost from my past shows up with blackmail on his mind, and suddenly…Christian is by my side. That’s when everything changes.
A relationship between them is taboo, forbidden. David is twenty years older and he’s Christian’s boss. Worse, he’s the General and it could ruin them both! Could they keep their feelings a secret? No one would find out…would they?

Audiobook review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
My favorite of the series.
I was really hoping that Christian would get his own book and I’m so glad he did! I didn’t read the blurb before I started listening to this so I really had no idea that it was about Christian and DAVID!! Oh my, what a delightful surprise.
I’m not usually hot for taboo or age-gap books with such a big gap but I absolutely loved this one. The performance by Michael Ferraiuolo was probably a big contributing factor. He really outdid himself with the different voices he used in this book.
This story has a little bit of everything in it, including some mystery and a big twist that I didn’t see coming at all. There’s a nice amount of sexy time and I really loved how everything between Christian and David didn’t come easy. They had some hard decisions to make in order for their relationship to work and I thought that made the story that much richer.
I’ve only got one book left to listen to in this series (My Kind of Christmas) and I really hope that Michael Ferraiuolo will be doing the audiobook for it.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
My favorite in the whole series! Devoured the book in under 3 hrs!
Loved all the books in this series-the author’s take on his fav tropes- GFY, enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance and finally this beaut-May/December.
I loved both David and Christian’s characters, unlike in the previous books wherein I was a bit (teeny-tiny bit) biased towards one of the MCs.
Loved Christian’s quirky, curious, I’ve-got-this attitude in contrast to David’s stoic and perfect demeanor. David is a total daddy *googly eyes*
Their chemistry is sizzling and I loved the scene where they first kiss. So very romantic.
Definitely recommend.
Thank you author for an amazing series. Gonna miss this one 🙁
An age-gap, workplace romance with all of the snark and heart I have come to expect from Romeo Alexander and the HEA I was definitely not disappointed with! Of course there are twists and turns, everyone gets in their way, including the General and Christian himself, what kind of book would it be otherwise?? 😀 But because these men are strong-willed, strong at heart, and know what they want it all comes around in the end. With plenty of hot, steamy times in the middle!! Hot and heartwarmingly melty read! Well recommended!!

At the age of forty-five General David Winter is the commander of Fort Dale. He had no time for a relationship. Christian, his assistant, has been here for a year and he doesn’t know what he would do with out him. He keeps everything caught up and in order. When one of David’s flings try to blackmail him Christian is the one to help him. I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this story and was wondering when Christian was going to get his HEA. General and Christian have been working together in close quarters for over a year. One day the General is surprised by a man from his past who wants to destroy his future. Christian finds out and decides he is going to help the General. When Christian comes through, the General could not be more thankful. He decides to treat Christian to dinner and when they two of them are alone they find out how much more they enjoy each others company. You will love this book as much as the other ones in this series.

General Winters runs a tight ship with the help of his assistant Christian. The general doesn’t seem to have much of a social life but what little he dose have seems to have come back to haunt him now he has blackmail to deal with the blackmailer wants money or some very dirty pictures and video may be given to command this could ruin him but when his assistant Christian stumbles upon it in his email he decides to help the General out. Soon both Christian and the Genral David are in new territory with there relationship but someone else wants to cause the General problems there appears to be more then one blackmail scheme going on. This is probably not my favorite of the Fort Dale books and its not the Authors fault I just didn’t care much for the General David Winters his mistakes lead to his problems and he states that he’s bi but he never tells Christian that so that buged me other then that it was a good read and I hope this isn’t the last we see of Fort Dale and its soldiers.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This last book in the series didn’t disappoint. The older man and younger man dynamic didn’t feel weird to me. I think because they were colleagues who respected each other and more so kind of like friends…even though David was the general while Christian was his admin assistant. After Christian helped the general out with some difficulty he found himself in, everything changed…the bond they had got stronger. The intimacy they shared was bound to happen and it was extremely hot. I think their relationship, before it got physical, was genuine. Like I said in reviews of the previous books in this series, I like the fact the events were simultaneously going on in all the stories. It was a different approach then I’m use to and it was wonderful. Only thing I didn’t too much like in this book was the epilogue. I was happy with Christian’s choice in career but where it took him leads me to think that him and the general might not have a long lasting relationship but it was lovely regardless. It didn’t make me change the rating one bit…Still loved it!

I think each story that comes out in this series just gets better than the next. I loved Christian’s and David’s story. Christian had David’s back on and off the clock. Loved their story. These two guys got the HEA they deserved. Although the ending was a little sad, I could see their future.

I loved this book! My first glimpse at Romeo’s work and I was not disappointed! A wonderful story about two men who work together every day and are brought closer by blackmail. General David Winter is a well respected and hard working man. His assistant, Christian, is just as hard working. Things change between the two when a past lover of David’s tries to blackmail him with a video of the two of them together. Christian, caring about his boss, steps in with a plan of his own to save the day. It works and the two soon find themselves unable to resist each other any longer. Things are going well until someone else in their lives steps up to try to take something from David and he turns the tables. This leads to David and Christian being able to continue their relationship in secret until Christian moves on to something else, allowing them to finally express their love for each other freely!

Christian has been working as an assistant for General David Winters for a year now, and has always found him to be extremely attractive, even though he is 20 years his senior. David Winters is almost 46, his sister is bugging him about his love life and he’s trying to figure out how to re-structure people on the base but it’s not going well. Of course, David’s life gets even crazier when an ex-fling blackmails him with a video of the two of them. To make matters even more awkward for General Winters, Christian ends up seeing the video, and gets a little turned on? and a whole lot flustered… The two men must now work together to stop the blackmailer, and in the meantime they might just realize that the attraction they feel isn’t as one-sided as they both think.
Both men have popped up in the first four books for a while now, and I have been eagerly waiting for their book to happen. I honestly wasn’t expecting Christian and David to be the focus of a novel, maybe because there wasn’t a lot of interaction between them in the other books, but it was a surprise that I enjoyed! I really found myself drawn to David. He was so stoic and serious, but yet his interactions with Christian he leaves his guard down and is such a sweet guy. I love this series, and I highly recommend reading this book!
First of all I am really impress at how this series intertwines. Things start out bumpy for David, then Christian steps in to help with his problem only to become closer to the man he respects and enjoys being around. Things at the base are starting to take shape. Very smooth and sadly very quick read. Do wish this series could continue but all good things must come to an end and this series ends on a very good note. If you are going to jump in and read this book you might want to rethink that because you will get a lot more enjoyment out of it if you start from the very first book in this series.

“Assistant to the General of Fort Dale isn’t the easiest job, but Christian loves it. Making General Winter’s life easier is worth every bit of hassle. He’s a good man, and Christian respects him…a lot.” This was very good. Well written. Enjoyed the plot, and characters. So much turmoil, and policies standing in their way.

This was a sweet, go-angst love story with a bit of political drama and suspense. I love the writing – it was easy to read and intriguing with great details.

David was at the end of his rope his older sister loved nothing more than to badger him until he gave in and talked to her at forty-five he didn’t think he was an old man nowhere even close.
He knew some people didn’t get the fact that he was into both men and women that wasn’t his problem.
Christian’s sister was pushy and couldn’t control herself the fact she’d kept harassing her would be boyfriend who did respond back.
He was suppose to be working but David caught himself fantasizing about the man in front of him but he couldn’t go there he was his superior.
David was livid by the message he’d just received and even more so with what was attached to it. He never saw this coming and he honestly was at his wits end on how to deal with this kerfuffle.
Christian did his job to the best of his abilities even shuffling schedules and dealing with cops with there noses out of joint but he just stumbled across a proverbial land mine.
David about had a coronary he’d been overwhelmed and hadn’t deleted the on email and now he had a sinking feeling Christian had seen it left with little choice he asked him to his office for a more private chat.
Neither one really wanted to have this kind of talk however the elephant in the room wasn’t getting any smaller but there was still time.
Christian knew David didn’t have to trust him but he was in rock and hard place nevertheless all he asked was for him to have a little faith in him.
It didn’t take much to find the little creep to set his plan into motion and by the end he’d achieve check and mate without the idiot being non the wiser.
As they talked about curiosity and alcohol the conversation seemed to take on a whole new meaning. Bold as brass David didn’t hesitate to make the first move and it was long before Christian was returning his own in kind.
Be prepared after all danger could be standing on your doorstep.

Story is WAY, too short! Christian, still the administrative assistant extraordinaire, has started paying attention to General Winters and thinking about paying attention. He started noticing him as a man, but ignoring it. General Winters was still the focused, stern but fair person who ran the base and appreciated Christian keeping his office life on point! Christian saw something he shouldn’t in the General’s email that led to a shift in their relationship. They crossed the line and fraternized, an indescretion in the top 5 of things not to do in the military! Do they continue? Do they get caught? Whose career is ruined? Can they have a relationship? Very nice story! Finally, great to have Gen Winters personalized. Christian is more amazing than in previous stories. Their challenges and how they handle them are entertaining. I would have liked a longer story to follow their lives. I would have liked to hear more about Lily and Mary, Christian’s sisters. Excellent series. Mr Alexander has done an excellent job!
