When is a rescue not a rescue? When it’s a kidnapping.Flicka and Dieter, whose real name is Raphael Mirabaud, tried to escape her ex-husband’s Secret Service and army, but they couldn’t. Dozens of military personnel, maybe hundreds, surrounded them, trying to kidnap Flicka. The only way out was with mercenaries hired by Raphael’s father. But Raphael’s father has other plans for them, plans that … other plans for them, plans that would force Raphael to go back to a destiny he tried to leave behind, and his father will hold Flicka and Alina hostage and threaten their lives to make him do it.
The story gets darker, AT MIDNIGHT.

The Most Tense & Emotive Book So Far!!
I’m at a loss for words, I’m in storyline & cliff hanger shock I think!!
I’m trying to figure out how to review this without giving out spoilers … But the entire thing is one giant spoiler fuelled, pulse pounding & heart torn to shreds book!! My mind is blown to smithereens
It’s an outstanding read. So much gets explained *rubs hands together in glee* and I think most, if not all, of the Raphael/Dieter questions are answered A-Maz-Ing by the way
Flicka is an absolute rock throughout this book for Alina & Raphael. Her astonishing memory comes into play in wonderfully helpful ways. Her Princess ‘training’ holds her together through some awful times as well as some beautiful times, unfortunately they are very few!!
The final chapters were nail biting, terrifying & heart breaking!! I don’t think Blair Babylon has broken my heart quite so badly before – and then it just ENDS!!!
Argh .. She’s an evil, evil Author
This writer continues to impress & confound me with the complexity of her storylines!! I love how we’re all left trying to figure out what could possibly happen next! I’m so invested in the characters, even the ones that she hasn’t written story’s for yet, it’s crazy
I can’t wait to get my paws on ‘Happily Ever After’, the final book in this series. I need to know how it all wraps up, who survives etc Some certainly don’t deserve to!!
I hope she takes her time and enjoys writing book 5, This has been such a fast turn over of REALLY top quality & lengthy reads, She deserves to finish on a high as much as we readers do!!
I can not recommend ‘At Midnight’ and the entire Runaway Princess Series enough. This was such a simple 5 Star rating to award for me!!

Audio Review: At Midnight: Billionaires in Disguise: Flicka (Runaway Princess Bride, #4) by Blair Babylon, Narrated by Jason Clarke & Lucy Rivers
Dive deep into a dangerous game that seems to get even more lethal. The secrets get darker. The danger more intense. At Midnight is the culmination of a romance that was never quite meant to be, yet hard to walk away from.
After a slight stumble during book 3 in Flicka & Rafael’s story, Blair Babylon is back in rare form with what has to be some of the best writing in her career. Just thinking about the wedding/reception scenes that I read over a week ago is making me tear up – again! So real and emotional. I never thought Georgie and Xan could be pushed out of the ‘best couple’ spot, but Flicka and Rafael’s relationship just went to a whole different level. THIS is why so many of us love the romance genre.
Enjoyed the book; interesting how Flicka was determined to live her life by her terms, not what was expected of her. The ending was very good; happy ever
after
The story of Dieter/Raphael and Flicka continue with kidnapping, hostage situation, blackmail, the Russian mob, powerful ex-spouses and danger with a capital D. This is a great series and I’m glad I am reading it.
ARGH! Again with the cliffhanger! At least the next one should wrap everything up with a tidy bow. This one started right where the last ended with Flicka, Dieter (Rapheal now) and Alina being kidnapped by Dieter’s family. After weeks being held captive and a quickie wedding (YAY!) they are once again being held by gunpoint but by the Bratva and it is serious, but don’t count them out. That is all I’m telling you! I need the next book NOW!
This was binged in audio and loved it!
5 star Review At Midnight: Billionaires In Disguise: Flicka (Runaway Princess #4) by Blair Babylon
AUDIO REVIEW:
This series must be read or listened to in order so make sure you start at the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat while listening to this story and what a cliff hanger this one ends on.
Well what a great addition to Flicka von Hannover’s story. This is probably my favourite one in the series to date. Lucy Rivers and Jason Clarke continue to do justice to the story that Ms.Babylon has created and I cannot wait to see what happens next. The fear that both Flicka and Dieter experience was palpable and I worried that they may be caught in a situation that there is no escape from.
After the surprises at the end of the previous book, we get to learn more about Dieter’s past. There are some characters in this one that I dislike intensely and I am hoping that they get the justice that they deserve. There are numerous twists and turns that left me shaking my head and I desperately need to the next book in the series.
This is a series of 4 books. Totally loved this series! This is my favorite of all of her book sets. Great author.
This was the book I was looking for. It gives you Dieter’s story. He certainly comes from a dark place. I knew his story was dark, but I did not realize how dark. He sells his soul one more time to save Flicka. This book is how Flicka and Dieter never give up the fight to be free. In my opinion it was interesting how Dieter bides his time it get Flicka and Alana free. Dieter and Flicka never stop the gears turning of getting out. I can’t wait Happily Ever After. Just a warning At Midnight ends in a cliffhanger. Overall I enjoyed this book.
Raphael Miabaud, aka Dieter Schwarz. Trying to figure out how or why he was named after an Angel.
Flicka von Hannover, kidnapped yet again. This time, by Raphael ‘s father, in the name of safeties sake. .She was being held hostage (in the suite of a mansion).
Raphael, promises he would get her, Alina an d himself out, as soon as he could. They just had to play by the “house rules” for now.
There have been so many twists and turns in this book. So many ups and downs. Gah! Now to have to wait!
Billionaires in Disguise: Flicka, Runaway Princess, has had fun and exciting moments and many sad and unfortunately tragic moments, and in this 4th book in the 5 book series, this holds truer than ever.
Blair Babylon, is a superb writer and knows how to catch ahold of your attention, and not loosen her grip, until the end. But that’s what keeps your interest piqued right? Keep up the good work. This is 5 star quality writing.
I think the cliffhanger will kill me with the wait to see what happens next for Flicka and Dieter!! Where this book had more drama, I could feel Flicka and Dieter’s fear in where they have ended up. I liked that we now know more about the elusive Dieter Swartz and his background and I understand his reasons for leaving however I think that I was just as discouraged with the events as Dieter was when it felt as if all of his plans had been thwarted and it seemed hopeless. There were a few twists to their story that I did not see coming and waiting for the resolution is going to be hard. I do wonder where Wolf is in this story but I’m sure that we will see in the next book that I am going to eagerly await for! I will admit that I had a hard time putting this book down as I have been hooked to Flicka and Dieter’s story since book one and like most others want to see the pair get their HEA. I have loved all of Ms. Babylon’s other books and this one is no different and would recommend this one as well as the entire series thus far to others!
This is a continuation of Flicka and Dieter story.
Just as you think everything is going to be alright
the plot goes in a completely different directions than
I thought it was going. Had me turning the pages to see
what was going to happen next.
I’m looking forward to the next part of this series because
this one finished up on a cliffhanger .
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This book picks right up where we left off Flicka and Dieter surrounded by men in military uniforms as soon as they step out of the courthouse. This is how we come to learn Dieter/Raphael’s story when he makes a devil’s bargain with his evil father to save Flicka like he swore he would. They’re taken captive and brought to Geneva so that Raphael/Dieter can step back into the life he ran from. This book really keeps you guessing on what people’s intentions really are. You really have to read this AMAZING BOOK to see how truly gifted a writer Ms. Babylon is. This book takes a page from true fairytales showing darkness not just light as told by the master himself Grimm. I CAN’T WAIT for the next book September seems so far away!! I definitely recommend this book!! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Flicka and Raphael aka Dieter are on yet another world wind of travel at the hands of his family this time. Raphael will do whatever it takes to save Flicka and his daughter but can he save them from something he barely escaped himself when he was just a teenager?
All I can say is hang on tight for the next book because we do get a cliffhanger with this one. We get so much passion though from this couple, opening up, truth and more lies also. Fantastic story.
So far the best in this series. Could not put it down. The story has more than it’s share of intrigue along with the normal side order of steam. On top of that, it ends on a cliffhanger and now I must wait for the next book. The bad guys are truly despicable and they are everywhere. A must read from my favorite author. Start with the first book and read through to the last, no disappointment here.
Edited on 4/20/21 to add my comments on the audiobook.
Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I’m really enjoying the voice actors for this series. Lucy Rivers does a great job with accents and so does Jason Clarke. If you are listening to this series without having first read it, I’m almost envious of you. I love this series so much but there’s nothing like experiencing it for the first time.
Original review:
I’m stunned and nearly speechless.
The “Flicka” series is nearly complete and I can’t wait for the final story and yet I don’t want it to end. Blair Babylon has outdone herself with the cliffhanger ending for At Midnight. I won’t give anything away but it will take more than a miracle to get Flicka and Dieter/Raphael out of the predicament she left them in.
This episode has Flicka, Alina and Dieter/Raphael pretty much under house arrest at his family home in Geneva. We learn more about his family and why he left them years ago. Flicka handles herself with her usual calm efficiency – even under the most dire circumstances.
This series has been a nail-biter for me, just like her other ones, and I must have a bit of a masochistic streak to enjoy reading her stories. OK, I’m kidding about that, but, I’m in awe of her story-telling ability. She puts her characters through hell but manages to have everything work out OK in the end. This is why I know that she will save Flicka and Dieter/Raphael but September 18th for book 5, Happily Ever After, can’t come soon enough.
If you love tense, nail-biting, romantic, sexy stories I highly recommend this series as well as all of Blair Babylon’s other books.
