Obedience is better than sacrifice…and trumps romance, no matter how sweet. Profound loneliness propels a childless widow west with the idea of choosing an orphan to share her life. On the way, a fellow traveler takes her by surprise. She never dreams, is unprepared, doesn’t need another man, but can’t get him out of her head…or heart. He’s so perfect—every bit the one she’d searched for as a … as a young woman—except his mistrust of God has erected a wall she cannot breach.
Marcus Ford blames God and struggles for peace after losing his wife and baby. Not once has he considered another woman could be the answer, but the widow is like none other he’s ever met. He falls hard, but plans are taking him east. Hope dashed sends two hearts into the pit. If only Ford could forgive God or the widow ease up on her adamant resolve.
Will God’s mercy shine a beacon in the fog of despair and prove sufficient to heal their souls?

Rebecca’s journey is one we have all been invited to embark upon. Will she lay down her dreams in obedience to the Father? Will she trust that Father knows what is best?
At Liberty to Love is an exceptional story of adventure, love and redemption! I was engaged in the story from the opening scene. Grab a warm beverage and enjoy the company of the Buckmeyer family.
Recommend to readers who enjoy inspirational, historical fiction.
I purchase a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
I felt like this was well written and the characters were well developed. This book was fun to read as it contained excitement and humor. Rebecca had to forgive herself for her past mistakes and move on with her life after her husband passed. It was nice to see how the story moved forward after that.
I was given a free audio copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This was such a good story. I loved getting to know the heroine better and meeting Marcus. The story shows that when you trust in God and follow his instructions then he will give you the desire of your heart. I would definitely recommend this book.
I received a PDF copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Caryl McAdo is a great writer. This is the 7th book of this and it is just as good as the first. I love the way she puts everything together. I would read anything that she writes, because she is just that good.
Love this series
I enjoyed the first few Buckmeyer books, but this one didn’t hold my attention
Love this author!
I enjoy all the books by this author since my first name is spelled the same way. She is an excellent author.
good writing
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. A Widowed woman, instead of looking for a husband decides she can handle things herself. She also decides she wants to share her life with one or two children from an orphanage. Enjoy riding along with her on her travels, meeting new people, visiting her sister and finding the children and possibly even more than she expected.
I love reading books by this author, very good and unpredictable.
Good Christian fiction and lady isn’t a spring chicken. You are routing for her the whole way.
Liked the story line, but the time line used by the author makes it sound like you go cross country in late 1800s in a week.
didn’t like it at all
I am not that crazy about this author’s style, but she does spin a good story just her word spinning is a little stilted. I did enjoy the book.
Excellent read!
I liked the story as an easy read and it’s message of not marrying a spouse who is an unbeliever is a good one. Still, there was a bit too much coincidence and dovetailing events for my taste. Still, the characters are likeable enough if not hugely realistic.
Did not particularly care for any of the characters.
I like this book a lot, it kept my interest the whole book.
Predictive, did not hold my interest
