Very well written, good insightful book on the subject matter.
At First Spark is a sweet, faith based romance. Darren and Danica definitely have chemistry. But Darren plans to remain single after his fiance broke up with him. Danica was adopted and wants to find out about her birth mother and birth mother’s family. She is very attracted to Darren and wonders why he keeps friend zoning her – especially when they have great times together. If these two would relax and let God keep to his plan, they might get even more than they expect. I was extremely drawn to this couple and grateful that I have time to read the book straight through!
I love that faith is a natural part of the characters’ lives.
I really enjoyed reading this book! She has always wondered who her real mother is even tho she loves her adoptive parents very much. He loves his parents and siblings very much but because his fiancee called off the wedding three years ago he thinks he is not marriage material. They are good friends but both of them are feeling more toward each other. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance books!
Of the Spark books so far, I think this is my favorite. You really should read the other books first to appreciate all the interactions with the characters introduced in those books. Ho has done a good job with her characters, the pacing, the relationships, and the subjects covered. There are some good plot twists, fun romance, and thoughtful spiritual lessons.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This fire-fighting Spark brother doesn’t disappoint! Danica and Darren are very, very attracted to each other and enjoy each other’s company. Darren has a medical condition that caused his former fiance to break up with him, so he’s decided to never marry. Their faith in God is woven into the story seamlessly. The plot has some twists and turns and moves along at a good pace. Liwen Y. Ho writes some of the most swoon-worthy kissing scenes that I’ve ever read, and some of them never even got to the actual kiss! There’s a perfect HEA for this book and a fantastic epilogue. I encourage you to read the Afterword as well as it reveals the author’s heart. I’m already looking forward to reading about the next Spark brother! I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
