The Scoop
By now you’re probably aware that the Alex Troutt thrillers, Ivy Nash thrillers, and the Ozzie Novak thrillers are all under the same Redemption Thriller Series umbrella. Why? Because, ultimately, they all connect — Alex, Ivy, Ozzie. How? That’s part of the mystery that I’m slowly unveiling throughout the Redemption Thriller Series.
Through each sub-series, characters from different books appear in the other novels. If it adds suspense, intrigue, or even a good laugh, I’ve included a cross-over character — it’s a lot more fun that way. Plus — and here’s the real kicker — the final six novels will bring all of the major characters together — Alex, Ivy, Ozzie. It will be explosive and gut-wrenching…in a way that will leave you breathless.more
Ebook Review: AT BAY by John W. Mefford

AT BAY memories lost, to regain.
To predator this isn’t, a game.
Two worlds headed for, a collision.
End result no one, could envision.
Caught me by surprise, must continue.
I’m looking forward to, book two (AT LARGE).
The best part about this book is the author’s outstanding skill of language. This is not just a little cozy crime fiction book. For my taste, there was too much description of the crime scenes–too much gore. And while I prefer books with no cussing, the few times it appeared, it seemed not only appropriate but “necessary”. There was one weird thing: my download from Amazon Kindle was 23 chapters (with chapter 22 appearing to have nothing to do with this book). I was quite confused, thinking that the author had stuck this in to be a kind of trade for the next book in the series. However, after consulting with a friend who follows this author, I discovered that her download via i-books had only 22 chapters, and my version’s oddball chapter 22 was not included. Some strange glitch. Other than that, my only reason for not giving 5 stars was that the ending was pretty anticlimactic and was more the character EXPLAINING how it was (re)solved. It seemed light and given short schrift after a lengthy and extensive lead-up.
This was an awesome book. Loved all of it. But it sure lets us know how the Media works, It can make you sick. Hard to put this one down. Very good job.
A page turner from start to finish. Highly changed action packed story. Is very graphic, so not for the faint of heart. Wonderful characters and an unpredictable ending. Looking forward to the next book.
At Bay by John W. Mefford was again another book of his that I could not put down. It had twists and turns to keep you up reading all night. Once again John W. Mefford does not disappoint. Don’t start reading this book before bed because you will not sleep you will want to keep reading till the end. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.
This whole series is excellent. There are twenty four books to the series. I am on the twelve book and each one gets better. I love the characters.
John has a great idea to write individual series of books and then tie them all together in the end. These are great books and can be read separately. Once you start reading, you will want to continue them all! Want to highly recommend them! Please start!!!!!
WoW! John Mefford has it going ON with wonderful skilled writing and reaches a reader instantly, page after page after page throughout the whole book. Never a let down and the entire series is that way. I LOVED turning each page to find yet more story building. I am delighted to discover this series but more importantly to find this AUTHOR!! So much to read. So little time. But for his books..I make the time!! Each one has turned out to be a MUST MUST READ!
It kept me on the edge of. My seat.
Amazing.. Best book I have ever read! Highly recommended
Real nail bitting suspense!
Great characters. Original and unexpected.
This is the first book by John Mefford that I have read, and boy was it brilliant. I love a good detective/murder/crime/thriller editor and this one did not disappoint!
We met Alex when she wakes up in the hospital after a really bad car crash with amnesia.
Immediately we are sucked into the story as we follow along with Alex who is trying to get her memory back, slowly pieces come together but there is still so much missing and see her dealing with a murder case whilst still on LOA from her job and the FBI.
This is brilliant book and I couldn’t put it down, can’t wait to read what Mefford has in store for Alex.
At Bay will make men squirm, but the plot line was difficult to believe. The hero, an FBI agent, wakes out of a comma and is diving in murky waters the same afternoon. It never really became any more believable. Then it didn’t have an ending…just on to the next book. But not for me.
It was slow
Interesting who done it very twisted antagonist! I lived in Southern California in the 1980s and visited Catalina. I could see some of this in my mind.
I shall certainly read the following AT (Ms Trout) just to see if it as good as this one.
Loved it, on book 3 now! So good
These series of books were compelling and kept you interested. I like them very much, and I want to read more from this author.
This was a good first book and I look forward to reading others with this character.
I Definitely recommend this unpredictable novel!
