It’s not easy to make readers fall in love with an assassin but Eve does it with a hot, alpha male hero who will kill or die for the single mother next door and her daughter who melt his cold killer’s heart. High action romance with a definite twist.

I did find 2 typos & there were a couple of areas that slowed down the flow. Overall the flow was fast paced.
From the very beginning this one had me chuckling then flat out laughing out loud. There is plenty of humor and comedic relief throughout the story.
Calvin and Lily are great main characters and Lily’s daughter, Zoe is absolutely adorable. She also adds to the humor in this story.
There is plenty of mystery (who is behind the drugs & deaths) and suspense.
The romance is adult. A bit of a slow burn, but then there are fireworks aplenty!
What this one lacked was depth. There could have been more tension and angst. I would have also liked to see a bit more character build in the other players.
But, it was light and funny despite the criminal element and I most definitely enjoyed it.

Calvin may be an assassin but he loves his house in the suburbs. But a new neighbour has hooked his attention and that is bad for your health when your an assassin and need to be alert at all times! But he ends up getting involved when her ex makes an appearance and if there’s one thing Calvin won’t tolerate it’s men threatening women and little girls!
Lily just wants her life back. Her ex is an abusive bum but even now they are divorced he is still trying to control her. When her new neighbour steps in, she’s thankful but now he’s building Zoe a bookcase and spending time with them – she has been kind of blindsided by her attraction to him. But even though he insists their dates are “missions” and that he is an assassin, she just laughs it off. After all he can’t be serious, can he?
Calvin is awesome! He may be an assassin but he is actually still a pretty nice guy. He has a code of ethics he won’t stray from and his motley crew at Bad Boy Inc are the most dysfunctional family ever – they are superb! Lily is stronger than she knows and just wants her and her daughter to be safe and Calvin is like a bolt out of the blue. Snarky humour and hotter than hot passion – fab read!
Different story but I liked it.
This is my first book by Ms Langlais. It was interesting, but I didn’t like the fact that Bad Boy Inc were assassins. They could have been a covert group of government soldiers, but murderers aren’t good. This means that they are breaking the law no matter how they try and justify getting rid of bad guys.
I did like the relationship that Calvin and Lily had. They were a good fit to me. I pictured Zoe as a cute little girl that won over Calvin’s heart from the start. Brock’s job was a surprise to me. In the end, Brock did a heroic deed. Overall the book kept you interested.
Eve Langlais pens a tremendously entertaining read! I love her characters and the impossible situations they find themselves in. If you are looking to escape into a darn good book, then do yourself a favor and pick up this little gem!
This series and this book in particular are wonderful, entertaining reads. The female characters are relatable and the heroes are amazing. I enjoyed it very much.
Great way to spend a fun couple of hours. Dispense with taking things too seriously, or looking at the moral of the story to deeply, just enjoy the chemistry and action.
Enjoyed easy read. Was definitely a story that is unbelievable and hopefully only could happen with a great imagination and storytelling vibe.
But would read again
This book was funny and suspenseful
Cute book!!
Way to immaturely written in my opinion…not realistic or exciting…glad when it was finished!
I LOVE the way Miss Langlias writes, throughly entertaining, when she writes I purchase and read.
Great start to a new series but does have some touchy subject matter.
So funny that Calvin kept telling Lily he was an assassin and would happily take out her ex-husband and Lily thought he was joking and kept laughing and saying she wished.
Loved how Zoe just melted Calvin’s heart.
Loved the banter and snark which is the trademark of this author. Will be reading the rest of this series.
Has spousal abuse, stalking and harassment as part of this story which may be a touchy subject for some people.
I loved this book.
I didn’t really expect to like this book but the concept was so different from the norm that I had to try it. I loved it. Not your mother’s romance novel. Take a chance on this book.
I’ve read another book from author and really liked it. (A Demon and His Witch). It was a fun and entertaining read. So I read the blurb about this one and it sound a little different but I did like the way she writes. This one was OK but not something I’d read again. (the other book I would read again! and I need to go and read the next one in the series!)
Loved this story! I could not put it down once I started it! I love books that have a serious content but with humor. I definitely recommend this book!
I enjoyed this book.
I truly enjoyed this book.
