First, this cover drew me in. And then the story took hold. I loved both Aimee Jo and Luke, even when I wanted to yell at them for being so stubborn. I’m glad their story isn’t over yet and I’m intensely curious about the back story of the two side characters, Hud and Lisa. My only thought… write faster, Ms. Savage, I’m anxiously awaiting the rest of the story!
Loved loved this book! Highly recommend
Very intriguing. I loved the imagery in the story. Luke was completely swoony. Well written. Heat and heart, just how I like it.
I enjoyed this book. I really loved Luke. Reforming cads are one of my favorite types of heroes. I really enjoy the moment when they realize their behavior isn’t really getting them anywhere. Aimee Jo makes for a great heroine, too. Even though life keeps kicking her in the teeth, she just soldiers on. Watching their relationship build was fun. I also really liked Luke’s friend, Hud. All in all, this was a good read. I look forward to revisiting these characters.

This was a really easy great read. The author has a great way of writing, and the story flowed very well. Was not disappointed at all.
Aimee Jo and Luke have one of those stories where I say fate played a big part in it. This is one of those love stories where they don’t see it coming and aren’t looking for love. This is a short story but it’s not lacking content. I really loved how you could actually relate to these characters. The only reason I gave this story a 4 star was because for me personally I felt it was a bit slower to hook me into the story. I would still recommend this story if your looking for a romance book.
Overall rating: 4.7
A romance on the road! As odd as it sounds , this is my first ever trucker read! I am very pleased that is is really well written! The characters are spot on for their roles, and I really did find myself rooting for the couple to find their HEA. Would be cool to read a story about Hud and Lisa. All in all, a sweet romance.
A lovely, heartwarming story with the right blend of action and passion to keep the reader turning page after page. Aimee Jo and Luke are a wonderful couple…she dewy eyed and inexperienced, he more knowledgeable of the ways of the world. She is an anchor for him, the woman to keep him grounded and happy. He is her protector and advisor, shoring up her damaged self-confidence and helping her navigate the pitfalls of the world. They are awesome together. Hope to read more about this beautiful couple, and about Luke’s friend Hud and his girl who got away.
Never knowing what to expect from an author you haven’t read before I picked this up and started reading. What I found was a lovely story about lives its ups and downs as well as passion and finding what is truly important. In Luke’s eyes he has it all or pretty much all as he rides the roads having no real comment, no one telling him what to do and living life. He isn’t missing out on much with girls lining up for his attention. You do have to give it to him he is straight up with them, what you see is what you get with no strings attached. It is really hard not to like him with his playboy way, but he has heart, kindness and really is a gentleman. Just the kind of man every woman thinks she can change lol.
Aimee is the totally opposite her life hasn’t been easy, she doesn’t have anything she wants. On the run from an abusive ex searching for her dream it looks like life just throw in a few more bad punches. I can’t think of anything worse than being so far from home and the place you are going. You can’t turn back you have no one to call for help, all alone with places to go but no way to get there. In a lot of ways I can relate with her, been in the abusive relationship is hard even harder to get away. My car has never been stolen but it has been broken down with no one really to turn to for help. When you leave a relationship you have to leave your friends behind since most likely they are the abuser friends. It was very easy for me to relate to Aimee.
I thought this was well written, the plot was great, the characters very likable. The author did take me in giving me a believable story. It was easy to follow, short read that makes you smile and remember days long ago when life was harder, tougher, before you found the man who made life worth living. It was great to see both sides of the story from both Aimee and Luke. Seeing how they saw things and what they thought. There is a little drama and a lot of passion, very well blended pulling the reader in. I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read more of her work.
Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl by Marie Savage has all the feels anyone could ever want. This story is like a good country song. Like and Aimee Jo are perfect for each other in so many ways. You will fall in love with these two. Hudson’s character although towards the end of the book so deserves his own story. My only complaint about this book if I have one is I want so much more of their story. It ended way to soon. Marie Savage made these characters so real you feel as if you know them. The story of a truckers life is so realistically portrayed that I could hear the wheels on the pavement. Loved this book read it one sitting.
I love Aimee Jo and Luke’s story. Afraid to admit their feelings to one another, danger and family illness make them both see the light. I look forward to reading more about them.
I love books with a strong woman lead and this story delivered that in spades. Aimee Jo was a very strong woman going through a string of bad luck when she had her car stolen at a truck stop, but after a good cry she picked herself up and kept going. I think I liked her because I can relate to her as I am a strong willed and stubborn woman myself.
At the diner She meets Luke who agrees to take her to California no strings attached. The sparks really fly between these two. I really enjoyed the ride these two took me on with all the interactions between them. It was fun to see if these two very stubborn people would get together or not. I really hope that these two get another story together.
I’m not usually a fan of contemporary romance because they all seem to be about the same thing, but I really enjoyed this book.
Luke is a trucker who likes the playboy lifestyle since he lives on the road. However, he doesn’t lie about who he is. He tells all the girls up front that it’s about fun and there are no strings attached and they can decide if they want to proceed. I normally don’t like the player types either but Luke was different, he was completely honest and awesome in his own way.
Aimee Jo has her car stolen in front of the diner that Luke takes a break in and he decides, against his better judgment to help her out. There’s something about her that intrigues him. She takes the help because she really has no other choice.
This is their 4 day journey to California. They get to know each other and find that they are incredible attracted to each other. Aimee Jo seems a bit naïve but she’s a rough time in the past. Will Luke continue on with his commitment free lifestyle and just drop her off or will they keep in touch after they reach California?
A sweet Contemporary Romance that tugs at the heart strings and leaves you with a smile on your face. I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a short sweet romance.
How cute!!
At first thought, Umm truckers are not sexy. And then I couldn’t put this book down and it has me checking out every big rig that drives by Aimee Jo is an adorable creature that I would’ve liked a bit more back story to but let to an interesting mystery.
Luke is your normal bachelor. An alpha with charm and a gentleman’s touch.
Their story is adorable to watch unfold.
Can’t wait to read more of them!!!
