I’m Ashja! I’ve been roaming the earth for thousands of years.I am a mighty and powerful Djinn—well, I was until I lost my talisman.“He who holds the talisman controls the Djinn.”Without it, well, let’s just say I’m a Djinn on the edge.Unfortunately for me, the paranormal council in all their wisdom has grounded me. They have ordered me to stay at this godforsaken Halfway House, with only the … Halfway House, with only the bare essentials of my powers available until I can locate my talisman. How am I supposed to know where it is? It was dark and I was drunk.
So here I am, stuck between a centaur and a dragon.
If I don’t find my talisman quickly, the town and all its occupants might not survive.
On the upside?
There’s one rocking sexy redhead up at the house.
I sure would like her to rub my lamp.
If only I could get to her.

Ashja, Ashja, Ashja. You naughty, naughty Djinn you. I’m so glad you finally found what really is important in life. FAMILY. Even if they aren’t blood.
Ashja gets sent to the Halfway House without his powers, as punishment from the paranormal council. He definitely starts off his stay with a bang but slowly, his womanising ways are left in the past as he finds what it really means to be part of a family.
I didn’t want it to end. Bring on more HWH with Mali and Em’s book.
I actually intended to read each book separately and review each one as i went. That so didn’t happen!
As soon as i finished Arkadia i started Raven and so on. Dzintra has written a whole world that is fully fleshed out and deep and as you read through this series you feel like you are part of the family experiencing all other their triumphs and and down falls, their love and their loss the Halfway House series is so indepth and flows so smoothly that you can actually see everything and hear everything in your mind as it happens …Personally i think this series would make a great movie series and even tv series its that good!.Dzintra Sullivan as stunning word smithing skills and has created a world so whole and indepth that i really want this world to exist ( and i want to live there —- OK maybe not their neighbour though cos i think having a wolf cub pooping on my property may be a tad smelly lol)
Arkadia: A messed up, self absorbed, spell challenged little witch who needs to pass her Paranormal Safety Exams (PSEs) or be banished..Can she get over or get passed what is holding her back to rise above it all and become the young woman/witch she needs to be or will she fail?……A riveting read that pulls you in from the first and wont let you go with twists and turns and danger and one hell of a hot hot dragon shifter a must read!
Raven: A vampire cant be scared of blood can they?..yep they sure can be ask Raven a beautiful soul who also needs to pass her PSEs. But finds out that lies come back and bite you on the bum and can throw your life into even more of a mess than it is already. Enter the hot hot Samuel can he help Raven get over her aversion to blood can he help her sort through the mess that is her life and accept it? …an exciting read a must have series!
Nevaeh: What to say about her?….Man she is a hard one to love , mind you so would you be if you haven’t experienced love before ..Can Nevaeh face her challenges pass her quest will she choose love or duty? Loved Her story so much! Loved to see the growth in this beautiful lippy outspoken little angel with a heart so big!!
Ashja: Well well well what to say about Ashja?..Personally i wanted to smack him upside the head a few times he is arrogant, he is cocky he is adorable, he is caring, he is a force to be reckoned with who needs to learn the lessons he doesn’t think he needs to learn, But will he?
I do feel that special mention needs to be made of Eloise and Rumor These ladies hold the Halfway house together one with pure love the other with her tough as nails outlook without these two i do not think the halfway house series would be complete. personally i would’ve loved a mother who was the exact mix of these to wonderful strong powerful caring women.
This fourth book in the Halfway House series is fantastic!
Abigail, now fully restored to human form, is trying to come to terms with her new life. Enter one brash Djinn who has had most of his powers stripped! The attraction is sizzling until it isn’t!
The wonderful sense of humour Dzintra Sullivan injects into this story is like a balm, so much fun but also making you feel good at the same time. Action packed scenes provide some tense, exciting moments. There is a twist or two at the end that will amaze you.
This fast paced, easy to read story is thoroughly entertaining and delightful.
I look forward to reading the next book.
Wow!! Ashja was AMAZING… I couldn’t stop reading and at the same time didn’t want this book to end. Just love the Halfway House Series and can’t wait to read more 🙂
Ashja is Djinn who has lost his tailsman. A tailsman, that who ever holds can control him. The Council as punishment have removed his power. Then if that isn’t bad enough placed him at the Halfway House. He’s having a hard time fitting in. He must find his tailsman before it too late…
A Djinn ! wow, this bad boy has some very interesting ‘gifts’ which he uses expertly and frequently lol.
When Ashja is sent to the HWH as punishment for his behaviour he has no intention of being part of this unusual family, but he has no idea of the lethal threat that is coming.
When a devastating secret is revealed, this bad boy soon realises that family isn’t just about blood.
This is the 4th book in the Halfway House Series and this authors use of hilariously witty quips from the characters gives these books added sparkle. Be prepared tho, this is probably the darkest of the series so far, no spoilers but parts of this book left me in shock and in tears.
This authors ability to deliver a story that pulls on all of your emotions leaves me in awe and totally addicted.
The next book can’t come quick enough.
