Ashes is the thrilling, suspenseful, and steamy conclusion to Aleatha Romig’s Web of Desire trilogy. Patrick and Maddie’s epic, page turner of a love story once again proves that Aleatha can weave an intricate web of secrets, lies, and intimacy like none other and is the Queen of Dark Romance! Highly recommend all the books this series!!!
The long anticipated conclusion does not disappoint!
Maddie and Patrick’s story continues to evolve and develop as new obstacles presented themselves to keep them apart.
Yet, their fierce loyalty just kept them moving forward.
The banter, the chemistry and the force connecting these characters was beautifully executed.
In this installment the secrets are Reveal was and lose ends are tied up.
I really enjoyed this story Patrick and Maddie’s story was more than a romance, it was a story of love, family and loyalty.
The ending?
Getting Aleatha’d in the best way!
4.5 stars!
I loved it!! Aleatha Romig ended this trilogy super strong. It was emotional, suspenseful, heartfelt, painful and passionate. I can’t stress enough how much I loved this trilogy. Human sex trafficking is not an easy topic to broach but this author created a story that sheds light to the pain and suffering that can occur in a story about resilience, strength and a love that never died.
You can’t help but admire and love the heroine of this story, Madeline Kelly. She’s a fighter and survivor. Patrick Kelly is the fierce loyal hero of the story that shows how his love never died despite the obstacles set before him. Their journey is one that showed how love does conquer all in the end. The good and evil, the highs and lows and the unexpected surprise all wrapped around each other to create a love story for the ages.
Besides Maddie and Patrick, the rest of the Sparrows play a front and center role throughout the story as well. Sterling and Araneae, Mason and Laurel, and Reid and Lorna create the family sense in the story that bind all the characters together. And I must say I loved the big twist and turn at the end of the second book that tied everyone together so perfectly in this 3rd book. And I must mention that the epilogue was by itself another 5s.
And with a SPARK, a FLAME was ignited, that burned savagely into ASHES that eventually cleared into the most beautiful of clear skies.
No one can write a romantic suspense like Aleatha Romig. She proves it again with her latest release, Ashes!
Third book in the Web Of Desire trilogy, ASHES perfectly concludes the series with a, once again, thrilling storyline.
The alternate points of view and the flashbacks kept me enthralled, delivering an action packed read.
Going back to the Boston underground, its threats and power games, immersed me back into the Sparrow organisation I liked so much. I really enjoyed the frienship and family vibe Mrs Romig explored in this series. It gave a warmth and a certain sweetness to a plot that was also chilling and gut-wrenching.
Whether in the present of her past, Maddie showed and incredible determination and resilience. She grew up into a clever woman who knows how to preserve her family.
Thanks to Patrick, her protective husband, she faced her demons and her vulnerabilities in incredibly raw scenes.
With jaw-dropping revelations, nail-bitting tension, and strong emotions, Ashes aleatha’d me!
The conclusion to this trilogy was soooo good! I loved the journey this group of people, especially Patrick and Madeline, went on. They were such an odd family/friends group and no matter what there for each other. This book includes some human trafficking issues so beware however I think it was written with all the respect it deserved. You must read the first two books to conclude with this one and you won’t regret it. They are all incredible and I hope we get more from this group!
Gripping and intense! I absolutely love it when an author can put your heart through the ringer and then piece it back together better than it ever was before. It’s the BEST feeling and Aleatha knows how to do just that!! She writes EPIC romances!
I was on the edge of my seat throughout this whole book. While it seemed to kind of solve the issues and keep our main characters safe and sound right away, there was a lot more information to be found, and a lot of loose ends to tie up in order that they could go on and live closer to normal lives. As usual, this author leaves us a trail of breadcrumbs all the way through, never giving us all the information, just bit by bit in a way that keeps you turning pages as fast as you can, devouring the story in a hurry. I would have read this in just one day, except I just needed something a little lighter before bed that night. As good as these stories are, they are definitely dark, and go to some very dark places with our characters’ pasts. They are things that make you feel, and make you root for the characters, even if they must make choices that would otherwise be reprehensible.
This was such a great ending to a great trilogy. Everything is wrapped up for our two main characters, in ways that aren’t necessarily ones that you expect, but in ways that are perfect in the end. Lots of the bad guys get their due, and then there are others that you still feel for in the end, even though you know they got what they deserved as well. There are some characters you kind of had sympathy for before, even as they were bad guys, but you soon learn they deserved their status and you owe them no sympathy whatsoever. Aleatha Romig is a master of a dark and twisty story, with love and passion in all the right places.
5 out of 5 stars
Patrick and Maddie. are back in the third installment of their story . Patrick is fighting to save the love of his life and the daughter he has never met . Maddy is working hard to fight for her life and the life of her daughter. They are getting closer to the end and will they come out the other side together as a family .
The gang is back and working harder then ever . Patrick is well he is a man on a mission and is doing it as sexy as ever . You will love his alpha attitude and he smolders so much . Maddie has really grown in this story . She is so strong and ready to fight . I love how she has blossomed in this book to a fighting machine when it comes to her family. Sterling and the rest are back and doing what needs to be done to keep everyone safe .
This book is the final book in the series and I was so excited to sit down and read . Well I will say that man I got sucked in big time . Patrick and |Maddie’s story is a story that brings out all the feels . I laughed and I cried my way through this story. The author weaves us a tale that will have you going omg . I love stories that have second chances at love . This is an intense book with some very raw moments of truth . I recommend this book and this series to all those that love a second chance at finding the love you truly need and want . It is also a book of survival . So if you like a book that gives you all the feels check out the series you will not be disappointed .
The brilliant conclusion to the Web of Desire series by Aleatha, this will have you on your toes as you finally get all the answers to the questions from the other 2 books, but this is not an easy read, as human trafficking is tackled and handled brilliantly by Aleatha, but will definitely leave some scars on your heart from everything that Maddie Girl went through, but will also leave you breathless and swooning from the attentions of her loving and loyal husband Patrick, who couldn’t be any more attentive and supporting if he tried!!
What a heroine Madeline Kelly turns out to be, what she went through for the love of her baby, such a fighter and a survivor. As for Patrick, there has never been anyone else in the 17 yrs since he lost his Maddie Girl, but now he has got her back he has no intention of letting her go. Neither of them are the boy and girl they remember, both are scarred with what they have gone through, but through love, loyalty, support and understanding their love for each other will conquer all.
There are a lot of flashbacks throughout the story as we learn just how horrid and sordid Maddie’s ordeal was, how she learned to survive and what she had to go through to ensure her baby’s survival.
Most of this story takes place at the heart of the Sparrow’s HQ, so we have a full supporting cast of Sterling, Mason and Reid along with their wives as Maddie and Ruby try to come to terms with being with Patrick, knowing that they are safe, yet still on lockdown to protect them and give them time to adjust and recover.
It’s an intense and gritty ride and was enthralling to watch the puzzle pieces fall into place along the way. Patrick and Maddie are stunning together, and watching them fall in love with each other all over again was fabulous, with the addition of their daughter Ruby! With an epilogue that really did finish the trilogy off perfectly, this is not one to be missed if you’re a fan of Aleatha.
Wonderful finale to a great series. It all comes together with Ashes. My head was spinning, my heart breaking and even some tears. But now we have all the answers and boy was this exciting. This has been an awesome series, one that I won’t forget very easily. Loved the characters, my heart ached for Maddie and Patrick and was so happy for them to finally get their happily ever after.

On the edge of your seat with all the secrets and memories that come out. They will have you holding your breath, tears to your eyes and gasping out loud.
Madeline and Patrick have overcome so much and they love each other like soulmates. Madeline is so strong and will do anything for those that she loves.
I won’t say too much else because I don’t want to spoil this trilogy for anyone. Just know that it covers some truly heartbreaking moments but the love is so strong between them.
Get Aleatha’d. RIGHT. NOW.

“Flames so hot that they turn blue
Palms reflecting in your eyes, like an endless summer
That’s the way I feel for you
If time stood still, I’d take this moment, make it last forever
Your halo’s full of fire
I’m rising up, rising up
My hot love’s full of fire.”

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is a dark (I mean it) and immensely twisty read. You don’t need any further information.
Aleatha Romig, say WHAT? What did you serve us with? I’m speechless. From page one to the final sentence of this novel, I was captivated. The author served all the feels. Madeline and Patrick underwent some serious stuff in this instalment. Madeline is a truly strong woman and I can’t wait to see where her story will end. Patrick is cute, too, but we’re woman-centric over here HAHAHAHA. Some secrets were revealed, but I feel like Romig has more where that’s from. This read was a quick and bittersweet ride with me shipping the two leads. In Flame, we had an elevation plot-wise in comparison to book one. Everything sped up. I was purely disgusted with some of the situations that characters found themselves in. I don’t know why it felt weird (in a very good way), but having Aleatha word it this graphically made it so much realer. There was no sugar-coating. Things happened. I wouldn’t call it entertaining because of the subject matter, but it was definitely a worthwhile ride that ended with a twisty bang. I’m going to be moving on to book 3 right away. Ashes (Web of Desire #3) is out now, luckily!
I recommend this read to people who haven’t been Aleatha’d because they deserve to witness this wonder, lovers of twisty dark romance and who’d love to read about a reunion between two tortured leading souls with tons of secrets.
Ashes by Aleatha Romig was the perfect ending to this explosive trilogy. I was caught in the web of dangerous twists and dark turns. The soul deep love and intense passion made this story even more delicious.
The conclusion of Patrick and Madeline’s story was obviously all about retribution and redemption. I have new respect and complete awe for this woman. I cannot imagine her pain and sufferings. And my heart is breaking for her endless traumatic experiences. But at the same time I am proud with and inspired by her strength and resilience. We get to see her broken sides in this story but she also got back her pieces together.
Patrick proved to be the perfect partner for her. He is part of the Sparrows and he has done some questionable things. And he is not a good man by normal standard. He has killed. He has cheated. He has threatened people. But he and his friends aka adopted family still go by their own moral in mafia world. And he did every single thing to protect Madeline and their daughter Ruby. I rejoiced with every act of vengeance as they needed justice. The story has many complex interlacing pieces and it was like a strategic war. It was very cleverly executed so that the tension and anticipation stayed till the very last chapter.
Ashes had everything I expect from a great romantic suspense. The adrenaline rush. The swoonworthy moments. The mystery, the darkness, the shock factor and the angsty love. One of my top read of 2020!

5 fabulous stars!!! Like I said, if it’s Aletha, I’m dropping everything to read it.
Bombshell after bombshell keep dropping for Madeline and Patrick. Ruby is safe but Patrick’s new mission is to get Maddie and make sure she is safe.
The twists and turns in this series are one’s i never saw coming. The love and chemistry between these two are off the charts. So, can Madeline and Patrick whether the storm after he learns everything that happened in the years they’ve been apart?
Definitely one-click this epic conclusion. Now we only have one story to be told from the Sparrow team 🙂 Can’t wait to see what Reid’s story is all about.
Awesome ending to an awesome trilogy.
Let me start this review by stating how much I love these characters! I. Love. Every. Single. One! These characters have each other backs through everything and I absolutely love that.
The conclusion to Maddie and Patrick’s story is action packed and has your mind wondering nonstop while reading. This ending is PERFECT! Maddie’s deserves everything and more. Patrick, mmmmm, Patrick is perfection. And all my Sparrow peeps!! Loved everything about this book.
Every time I read the ending of an Aleatha Romig book/series, I get this bittersweet feeling. I can’t wait to see what happens but man am I going to miss them.
Read this trilogy! And the one before it! And the one before that! Just read them all!! You will not regret it.
I’m ready for the next one Aleatha!! Wink wink
Patrick and Madeline’s story was perfection, it is raw intense emotion with the power of survival and finding yourself again. These two will being you to your knees I loved them so much the power of ĺove is everything.
We get answers loads of twists and turns and things you won’t see coming it is a powerful story and I’m so glad we got to read their story.
WOW! Aleatha never fails to blow me away!! In this dark and twisted conclusion to her Web of Desire trilogy, Aleatha pulls out all the stops. Sinfully sexy and suspenseful, “Ashes” boasts an explosive storyline full of heartbreak, secrets, and revenge. But, more importantly, Patrick and Maddie finally get the HEA they have long deserved. It is everything I had hoped for and more.
With more and more turns, more and more twists, we keep finding new information on the key players. Realizing the horror that Maddie had been through all those years. But this strong fighting woman just keeps amazing us. She has watched and learned over the years, finding herself in a place to make a difference. Maybe even help out in changing the direction of her own life.
Finding herself back with her one true love, but more than that, people that were friends and didn’t want or expect something from her. Determined to find her place in the world, while doing everything in her power to help other women who had been through similar horror. Doing her part to help stop this horrible fate of young women.
A true second change at life, love and happiness. The past won’t ever go away, but with the love of family and friends there is always hope.
Like all books Aleatha, the carefully planned out plot full of twists and turns, deceit and power will have you at the edge of your seat while reading, looking for answers, hoping for a happy ending and a sense of peace and new beginnings for those wronged.
This series revolves around some of the horrible things that happen in our world today. It is not always easy to read but in a way gives those abused a voice. Thank you Ms Romig for not being afraid to take on theses tragic topics.

Ashes (Web of Desires #3) by Aleatha Romig is the conclusion of Madeleine and Patrick’s story. Madeleine has been sold to Elliot and is stuck at his ranch in Texas. Patrick is in Chicago dealing with the fact he has a daughter. She is related to Sparrow and they need to get Madeleine back. I enjoyed how the author told this story. Most of the story was told by flash backs into Madeleine’s time in captivity which was quite hard to read at times and had me on an emotional rollercoaster. While reliving and dealing with her past the gang has to still deal with the war along with the fact she and Sparrow are half siblings. By the end of the story all my questions had been answered. I now want to read the books of the other members of the Sparrows. I especially enjoyed Patrick and Madeline’s HEA. Yes it has been a while since I have read a series by this author and this was a great reintroduction to her storytelling style. 5 stars for me.
