Learning to trust is something Reese can’t seem to get a grasp on. Every time he tries, he gets burned. When sexy Brooke walks back into his life, the firefighter puts up a wall of resistance that will keep him from making the same mistake twice. Problem is he loved her once, and she walked away. Now she’s asking for forgiveness and he’s not sure he can give it.Being a mix of dragon and human … human presents its challenges. Even more demanding is Brooke’s shifter father who she can’t seem to say no to. When an unforeseen event forces her to run away from love, and back home to daddy, she doesn’t think she will ever see Reese again. Coming back to Kirkwood means facing what she left behind and questioning what her future holds.
Old emotions threaten to resurface, but things are more complicated than before. Reese can’t forgive and Brooke’s father demands she marries someone else. Trust and loyalty rip these two apart, but sometimes it only takes a spark to create a flame from ash and change destiny forever.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Ashes To Flames: Dragon Shifter Fire & Rescue by Valerie Twombly is the fourth offering in the Sparks of Desire series. I loved Brooke and Reese’s story. This really made me laugh, cry, cheer and want to reread the book immediately. This amazing series give us a fire and rescue team that mixes shifters and humans with great success. There is a load of drama, humor, sexual tension (Yes, this is a Mature Readers Only read) and emotional overloads. I definitely recommend reading the series in order, you’ll absolutely love it! So if you aren’t reading Valerie Twombly, why not!?!

I found Ashes To Flames to be an awesome delicious smoking hot dragon book with a superb storyline that really captured my attention from the very beginning and kept me engrossed throughout the entire book! I was so wrapped up in Brooke and Reese’s story I wasn’t able to do anything including sleep until I finished the entire book! I was honestly up most of the night just to see what was going to happen! I loved their sweet yet strong characters and the heat level between them…they just needed a little shove from her dragon! I actually love all the intriguing characters involved in the story and recommend this book and series to anyone looking for an addictive delicious hot read! I’m definitely looking forward to what comes next in Valerie Twombly’s Dragon Shifter Fire & Rescue series!
This is another great addition to the “Spark of Desire” series. Brooke and Reese used to be together, then she left hurting him deeply. These two had a lot to overcome, Reese had trust issues and Brooke kept denying her feelings. They were both interesting characters and they had great chemistry. The story was well-written with a storyline that was interesting, well paced and had emotions, drama and love.

So much drama
In this shifter read.
I liked the backstory a lot.
Brooke is a shifter back in town.
Reese can hold a grudge and is extra messy with his baggage (ex wife who he chose poorly) and a kid.
Lot of angst.
Book four in the Dragon Shifter Fire & Rescue,Sparks Of Desire series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Human Reese Durham and dragon shifter Brooke Celia Murphy’s story. There is drama, danger, suspense, twists, turns, evil, and romance. I hope there is more to come in this series. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

Super book
The dragon shifters knew of the lore of Ophi that a silver dragon Queen would be born, filled with magic, and rule them.
Reese Durham had a bitter divorce from his cheating ex-wife, Megan. Now she was refusing to let him have their daughter for the summer as had been agreed – she was taking Emma to Europe instead. Reese didn’t want to disappoint Emma, so he didn’t put up a big fight about it, but it was just another instance of Megan’s betrayal and hatred toward him.
Brooke was a halfling dragon. Most other halflings could choose their own mate, human or full dragon. But Brooke was special and her father would do the choosing of a mate for her without her input. She was coming back to town now to see her cousin, and she wondered if she would see Reese again at the firehouse. They had enjoyed a brief fling before she raced home to Ireland with no explanation. It had devastated Reese who was already battered emotionally with trust issues from his ex-wife’s betrayal with his brother. Yet neither of them can stay away from the other. Reese had strong feelings for her and knew that he still did the minute he saw her. Despite the fact that her father has decided she had to marry a “proper” full-blooded dragon, Brooke had truly fallen in love with Reese. Will she follow her heart? Or must the prophecy be fulfilled as the silver dragon comes into her own?
This was a great story with a slightly different approach to dragons which was intriguing. The story line was good, the pacing of the plot was good, and the characters were likable despite their mistakes and faults. Grab your copy and see what becomes of Reese and Brooke’s love with the pressure and consequences of the silver dragon lore trying to tear them apart.
This is a second chance story of two people who loved but Brooke gets confused and runs back home. Now she’s back and Reese is trying to keep his heart whole but staying away. But neither can. Will their love be strong enough to find a way to work this time. I’ll let you read this story to find out. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great book to the series brings Reese and Brooke’s story. The author once again brings strong characters and an interesting story line. She brings another fiery dragon shifter romance, giving them a hot and steamy chemistry and takes them on a journey filled with suspense and danger. Her scenes are described in vivid detail which helps to bring the story to life. I loved reading their story and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Queen Ophi was the original shifter dragon. Wit her came the premonition of the silver dragon who would become the new Queen. Reese was a human and Brooke was a halfling who couldn’t shift until she could. Interesting and different story with well defined characters. Good read!

Ashes To Flames is the fourth book in the Sparks of Desire and is a great addition to this series.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The story is well written and has terrific characters with amazing chemistry. There are dragon shifters, danger, suspense, fated mates, and romance.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

I have loved this series from the start. Each book gets just a little bit better. The characters are expanded and we are starting to see deeper into Dragon culture. Shifter, halfling and human relations can be difficult. But they result in the most amazing HEA’s. Reese and Brooke do not have an easy road ahead of them. What if love isn’t enough? What if insecurities keep them both from fighting for what they want? Need? Trust issues make Reese hold back. Duty makes Brooke deny her feelings. When the two of them make a decision, to take a chance on each other, love proves to be stronger than anything in their way. The books to come are sure to ‘Spark My Desire’ for the addiction I have already found myself in. Thank you Ms. Twombly for another amazing read!

Ashes To Flames (Sparks of Desire #4) by Valerie Twombly
I received this book from the booksprout for an honest review.
I am such a huge fan of shifter books and I love a great dragon story so when I saw this book, I snagged it.
Reese is totally hating in women thanks to his awesome ex wife Megan…please not that is a full sarcastic sentence because she is totally not awesome. To sleep with your husbands’ brother is kinda not cool…see why I say she is not awesome?? Any who, Brooke and Reese have some back story of a few nights of “friends with benefits” sleepovers. Well in the past Brooke up and left which kinda made Reese a grumpy man yet again. Seems he was falling hard for Brooke.
Brooke is a hot mess. She is a half shifter annnd she finds out she is a very special half shifter. She is the QUEEN Shifter and the legendary Dragon Shifter who everyone has been waiting for. When Brooke’s dad finds out he decided she needed to marry a “proper” full blooded dragon. EXCEPT, wellllll…….Brooke has gone and fallen in love with Reese too.
Those two have some serious communication issued however they sure can express themselves fine in the bedroom. Well again, due to lack of communication, they have a falling out buuuut not before Brooke ‘s Dragon leaves Reese with a small parting gift…..wanna know? READ THE BOOK!!
Wanna know what else happens to Reese before he can try to claim his women?? WELP you gotta read the book people. Seriously this book was a fast and great read.
Reese and Brooke are a great couple to read about and I loved their story immensely!!
