Asher is ready to take on his own assignment. There’s a few twists in this one for him. He’s being sent to China to find adult autistic twins, and their caretaker is someone he used to know very well.
Mickey was impatiently waiting for the team the twin’s mother Chandra has hired. She was in the same room, the one where the twins were taken. She has to be with them to help rescue them. One of the things the twins hate is change, they really didn’t want to come on this trip with their mother they like staying home in their safe environment.
Chandra is convinced that the reason they were taken were because she was refusing to do a wedding for a very influential bride. She brought the twins on this trip because she felt they need some change. Not a very smart move.
Asher has Ryker for a backup and they aren’t so easily convinced. Mickey has made her decision to go with them and help with the twins when they find them. However her history with Asher is a stumbling block.
There are many twists and turns as this story evolves, some I guessed at others totally surprised me.
To be honest I couldn’t see Asher and Mickey coming together at all.
Plenty of action, suspense, intrigue and an interesting progression to sizzle.
This is Asher’s first mission to find and rescue twins in China. He’s sent along with Ryker and Mickey, the twins private nurse and Asher’s ex-fiancee. Since the twins mother is very rich and they are too it causes all kinds of twists and turns. Loads of suspense and danger.
Realistic and suspenseful second chance romance…Asher isn’t happy to find out that Mickey his ex-fiancée is one of his contacts to rescue the autistic twins. Mickey insists on accompanying them on their mission since as their private duty nurse, she can calm them down and give them medical help. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a very suspenseful story. I like that Mickey shows the exhaustion of always being in pursuit of the kidnappers or on stake-outs. I like how satellite images are used to help track the kidnappers. I also like how Mickey was very helpful in pulling the pieces together. There is also a realistic second chance romance as both Asher and Mickey reflected on their past and potential future. I love this book and look forward to the next book in the series.
Asher and Mickie were great together, watching these two find each other again while in the middle of a disaster of a case was great. They kept trying to push each other away, but still managed to find their HEA in the end.

Dale Mayer has somehow upped another level on her own craft, and became freakin Yoda with these books! Best. Work. Yet. Hands down. I’m being totally truthful when I say this book lived up to all of the hype and is a definitely must read for all romance lovers and anyone who loves to read . My favourite couple of this spectacular series. Can’t wait for more from this author.
It’s time for another alpha military hero to step forward for his sole mission for the Mavericks. Asher is still feeling it after his relationship went to zero after his girlfriend called it quits. Mickey falls into work after quitting Asher as she felt she wasn’t good enough for him. As she travels to China, she is injured when the adult twins with autism she is working with as kidnapped. As Asher, Ryker and Mickey race to find the girls, Info comes to light that suggests it’s someone closer to home. Bodies start piling up but who is guilty of the girls kidnapping??? Another great book in this series. Loved Asher and Mickey plus all of the intrigue and suspense that came with the story.
I got easily hooked on this series. I really like how this author already introduces to the next “hero” from the previous books in the series. You meet Asher while reading Beau’s book and get to know him a little bit before he got his own mission. Same with Ryker, can’t wait, his book is next. Always action, suspense, and romance with the HEA. A happily ever after is a must in the books I like to read.
This is my favorite book so far in this series. Dale Mayer masterfully captures your attention with Asher and his journey. Your past always finds a way of catching up with you.
Layers upon layers of intrigue. This one read as a well done mystery! Lots of possibilities with a few surprises at the end. This is Ashers story and we met him in Beaus, as he was Beaus back up. He heads to China with his back up Ryker and a second. A second who turns out to be his ex fiance who was a nurse to the twins who were kidnapped. I wasnt that fond of his ex and I have to say I liked Asher a lot better in Beaus. Beyond that this was a wild ride, car, boat, plane with double crossing, and plenty of villains to choose from, a really wild mystery. Thank you Dale Mayer an Booksprout for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
This is book 5 in The Mavericks series and it features Asher and Mickey. It’s been 10 years since they were together. She broke it off because she didn’t feel worthy of him. Obviously she had some issues that needed to be worked out. Now, she is the nurse/caretaker of two autistic women who have been kidnapped. Asher and Ryker have been sent to find them. The family they are working for are some extremely scandalous people! I felt a connection between Asher and Mickey but it wasn’t flirty or romantic. It was more like two people who used to know each other but now were not sure how they would be received by the other. It’s a thin line between love and hate.
The action and adventure were top notch! The mystery and suspense is fantastic throughout this entire series! I would have liked a little flirting or SOMETHING between Asher and Mickey but at the same time I love how the majority of the romance doesn’t take place until the mystery is solved or close to it. I’m looking forward to Ryker’s book next!
A rather complicated plot slowed me down on my reading and kept me on my toes. Asher and Mickie had a thing ten years ago but ended it and went their separate way. They are surprised to see each other but they must find the twins before their kidnappers harm them! Another intriguing story by this great author!

I really enjoyed this book with it’s multiple suspects in the kidnapping of autistic twins when they go to visit their mom while she is working in Shanghai. The twins are beautiful, former models, 30 years old and their mom who is a world famous wedding planner. Wow, did I say all that in 2 sentences? Asher is new to the Mavericks and known to take on cases that others have refused. He agrees to this then finds the twin’s nurse and caregiver is none other than his ex-fiance from 10 years ago, Michaella or rather Mickey for short. The engagement was before Asher became a Navy Seal. Mickey was left knocked out and heavily drugged when the twins were kidnapped. Asher will have a partner in Ryker who will be a real help except for his totally enjoying the bickering between Mickey and Asher which is indeed entertaining. The search goes into some shady areas where people involved in the kidnapping are dying. Mickey is needed as the twins have multiple problems including diabetes and stomach problems along with behavioral problems associated with the autism. They love to be in their comfort zone at home in their garden and this is about as far away from that as is possible. The story continues as the search goes on and involves a lot of people who may be part of the kidnapping making their job more difficult but the mystery even better. A very exciting read!
The epilogue talks of Ryker’s new assignment where he will go to the Columbian jungle to rescue Manila and her team as they have been captured and detained. She had been looking for platinum and has found illegal gold mining. Ryker is familiar with jungles thank goodness but this still should be an adventure I won’t want to miss.
An Outstanding Suspense .
I really enjoyed reading ASHER . This is book five in The Mavericks Series . Asher Tromblay
is sent to Mainland China to find and rescue
a set of Autistic twins . Asher is assisted by Ryker and Ashers ex- fiancee Mickey ,the twins private nurse . The group head out to find the women , Which is not an easy task . There is more at work here than a simple kidnapping . As they get closer to finding the women , the danger to them is getting closer . This story is fantastic , action packed , intriguing and so suspenseful . The characters are wonderful .
I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Asher is sent on a mission to rescue adult twin sisters with autism who have kidnapped. Their nurse Mickey was left tied up when the women were taken. Asher was in love with Mickey years ago and the attraction begins again. The suspects behind the kidnapping include their brother or even possibly their mother or a competing company in the wedding planner group. The story moves fast with lots of action.

When SEALs get sick of following rules because they hold them back from doing the right thing they either accept it or walk away. However, for a select few there is an alternative – they can join The Mavericks – a covert black ops team that gets the job done (even if they have to break the occasional rule on the way). In the previous book in this series, Asher Tromblay had helped Beau Madison when Beau too the lead in a mission for the Mavericks and now it was Asher’s turn to lead one. He is given the mission of finding a set of female autistic twins in mainland China with an old friend and colleague Ryker as his backup with a plus one which more than raises his eyebrows. The plus one is Mickey who is none other than Asher’s ex-fiance and was the nurse who was looking after the twins and with them when they were kidnapped. When Mickey sees Asher and works with him to find the twins she starts to realise what a mistake she made ten years ago. Can they dive through all the layers of betrayals, lies deceit and a growing list of bodies to find out who was really responsible for the kidnapping and who has been on a killing spree? At the end will Mickey get her heart’s desire and get a second chance with Asher or will he reject her?
This story had plenty of drama, mystery and action as they travelled through China and worked their way through the complex layers of betrayal, lies, deceit and violence to work out who was responsible for each level of the plot and who should pay for everything that had happened. It way that Asher and Mickey worked through their issues was very realistic and I loved the way that they struggled to see what was happening between them. Well written and easy to understand you do not need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy these books. There is sexual content at the final stages of the story.
Mickey is working for a famous wedding planner whose twins have been kidnapped. Asher is sent to recover them. As it turns out Mickey and Asher have a past together. They dated 10 years ago and she left him because she wasn’t ready to settle down. The story is faced paced and it has a lot going on. The two are reconnecting after all the time apart, but they still have to find the twins. It’s a good read with some heat toward the end. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
Asher and Mickey are reunited years after their breakup when the twins Mickey is caring for are kidnapped. The story has a lot of twists and turns and it is obvious that Mickey and Asher have unresolved feelings for each other. I enjoyed the story and the relationship between the characters.

Asher is ready for the next step in his life. Accepting a new mission brings him face to face with his past.
Mickey a quiet girl, changed after looking after family grows into a new woman and she realizes what she have many years ago is still what she wants today.
Trying to save her twins bring them together. Working together they realize that they can face a future together but first must solve the first case which very quickly brings a second case to solve before they can move forward together.
Holy H*ll.. this book was incredible!
Asher is in China to rescue a set of autistic twins. Mickie is their caregiver, and she’s also Asher’s ex. It’s been ten years since she last saw Asher.
Now Asher and Ryker need to figure out just who is really behind the kidnapping of the twins.
Tips are leading to bodies instead of to the twins, and the guys are racing around trying to save them before they are added to the body count. Twists and turns will have you wondering who the bad guy really is.
Outstanding story!
Twisted and convoluted story full of bodies, lots of moving around to different areas.. so many guesses as to who the villains actually are and the why’s or what goes, keeping the reader on edge and not sure where the next hit or clue will come from. Interesting use of internet and satellite information and cameras, I love reading the techy stuff because I’m.quite a novice and wouldn’t have a clue. The characters as always are easy to love and get to know, the sparks fly a bit between Micky and Asher because of the hurt and pain from their past but Ryder is a useful buffer when needed. Oh and his story is up next and sounds intriguing as well. I love the mystery and suspense, all the twists and turns these books take to give us readers a thrilling ride throughout. Amazing and unique.
