9 AM EST: A senator shoots himself on national television.
10:32 AM EST: An entire floor of government agents leap to their death from their office building.
12:57 PM EST: All the police officers inside a station murder each other.
And the day has just begun.
Lieutenant Asher Benson left Iraq with a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and a Purple Heart. His doctors warned that the symptoms would … doctors warned that the symptoms would be life altering. They had no idea. As his body healed, the thoughts of those around him began to echo through Ash’s mind, stretching the boundaries of his sanity.
Five years later, Ash is drowning the voices with copious amounts of booze and self-loathing.
When unidentified intelligence agents abduct him in broad daylight, Ash is thrust into a world of espionage and assassinations. A unique terrorist is operating on U.S. soil, and the government needs Ash, and the malady that has plagued him for half a decade, to find the killer.
*Ash is the first book in the Asher Benson thriller series, which is full of snarky humor and nonstop action.

Currently reading and loving this novel, that I bought free from BookBub!
I loved the sarcasm. I wanted to match wits with Ash, but I do NOT want him in my head.
Ash is a decorated combat veteran, who is suffering severely from PTSD; although what most people don’t know is that the traumatic head injury that separated him from the military has resulted in the curse of being able to hear other people’s thoughts. No, not being able to, really, more like being unable to NOT hear thoughts. His head is full of voices, talking all day long, driving him crazy. The only way to dull the storm is to drink, a lot. When he intervenes in an armed bank robbery, and accidentally reveals his ability to read thoughts, the government comes calling. There is a terrorist targeting government agencies and politicians, and they are hoping that by reading minds, Ash will be able to find the terrorist in a crowd so he can be apprehended before causing more death. This is a solid story, with an unusual premise, well-developed characters, and a lot of action.
This book is so good
Loved it.
INTERESTING READ
Twisted for sure
Worth investing the time. Enjoyable read
Kept your interest enough to order next book in series
Enjoyable read…try it.
Easy read that kept my interest.
A lot of people get slaughtered. The main character ASH was in an elite group in the Army.
He is wounded with brain damage. He retreats away from people and becomes an alcoholic to deal with his PTSD I had the hardest time reading how dirty and sloppy he lived. I wanted him to clean up. But the story pushes on with all kinds of thrilling moments.
Not a good read. I will not read any more books in this series.
Very enjoyable
If you enjoy immature wise mouths, this could be the book for you. The psychic angle intrigued me, and it was well enough written and edited to keep me reading to the total blood bath ending, but it’s not for anyone easily offended (which I am not). Boob references, insults, swearing, and carnage are the order of the day in this book. The male characters were the most fleshed out, but the two women were cut from cardboard, one a little person furious at frequently being mistaken for a child, who incongruously opts to always wear a Sponge Bob backpack and has a foul mouth; while the other is totally unremarkable except for enormous breasts and a bizarre attraction for Ash, the ex-soldier main character who smells like a dumpster and looks like a meth head. It is action packed, and like a gory shoot ’em up video game has just about the same dimension.
Enjoyed the action & the satisfying ending.
kept me interested throughout!
Mind control a little over the top. Some gory scenes that were too much.
Constant violence. Might as well watch the news.
This book is ok.
