I haven’t read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!
The latest installment in the Ascension Saga does not disappoint. I am really digging this series, but have to admit I’m ready for the wrap up. Not because I’m tired of the characters, but because I need to know the answers to the mysteries. Looking forward to book 9.

I found this story to be a very enjoyable read. An amazingly attention grabber with great characters, details and depth kept your interest and totally engaged throughout really well
Destiny and Nix are at it again. These two get along GREAT in the bedroom, but as soon as one foot gets out that door, it’s each man/woman for themselves. At least that’s what Destiny is thinking. No man is going to tell her what to do and how to run her own dang-gumm life !!! Nix, on the other hand, is totally in love but wants to protect her from her self and anyone else looking to harm her or her family. Will these two EVER get the act together ?? Well only an explosive ending will tell us.
Destiny is still in her Ardor.
Nix is servicing her.
But Destiny is a fighter and she fights the mate bond, well questions it anyway.
Destiny, the ultimate fighter struggles to trust Nix. He needs a lesson in warrior females. He’s an idiot if he thinks he can keep her from protecting her own mother by leaving her and her sisters behind.
Idiots. All of the men.
I particularly enjoyed having Nix restrained just like he did to Thor.
I loved the lesson she taught Nix.
Just when things are getting good…
Cliffhanger, babes!

Ascension Saga 8 picked up right where Ascension Saga 7left off and me wondering how in the heck Nix and Destiny are going to be able to reconcile their differences.
Nix and Destiny are mates. No matter how much Destiny tries to deny it—and deny it she does until the Aleran Ardor take over. But just because she’s sex starved, doesn’t mean she’s desperate. And Destiny isn’t willing to settle for a mate who doesn’t see her as his equal. Nix, man, you’ve got a tough road ahead of you while you work to discover where the Queen is being held. And you’re in-laws won’t necessarily be of assistance.
Ascension Saga 8 leaves us hanging, waiting for the conclusion of this brilliant Ascension Saga in total as well as what happens between Destiny and Nix. Will they figure things out before it’s too late? Will Queen Celene be found and reunited with her daughters and her people? I’m on pins and needles with anticipation.
great read, makes one anxious for the final book in the series.
I am one of the biggest Grace Goodwin fans out there I adore her writing its romantic and hot but always with an interesting plot and incredible world building. I think the Ascension stories are fantastic but I am dying to get to the end and find out who is behind all this as well as maybe meeting the Queens husband. As much as I love them I much prefer to not have to wait weeks in between cliffhangers. That said I thought this novella was fantastic Destiny is such a strong character she will do anything to find her mother and expose the traitor. She loves Nix but he must see she is a warrior in her own right not just her mate. In book eight the Jones sisters are going to show their mates that they can take care of themselves and will not be left behind protected from danger. This is another fantastic episode and I think once all the books are out I will reread them together to get the full effect. Grace Goodwin’s writing is never disappointing you can never go wrong picking up one of her stories.
Adult, sci-fic-R, M/F, series, cliffhanger.
This book has adventure, romance and strong female characters without making the male characters wimps. I like that.
Destiny and Nix are the main characters again. They both have to learn to adjust their thinking when it comes to how they see each other and what they each really need from each other. This is the book where they both work on that. The entire main cast also continues the effort to find and rescue Celene. I think it is interesting that the Citadel gave them gifts that made each sister more balanced in their natural gifts while complementing their personalities. Their mates also learn that growing up on a different planet has moulded each female to be more self-reliant than how they would have been taught on Alera. This creates both blessing and problems for each couple that they have had to work through. Eight books to do this in and still learning. Marriage takes work that is never ending, but the rewards and journey are worth it.

Oh my goodness, I can’t wait for the next book. Will they find the Queen in time? Who is this mastermind? So many questions still remaining. I am loving Destiny and Nix’s story and can’t wait to see how it all comes together. I really like that Nix finally understood Destiny and still loves her. Waiting oh so impatiently for the rest.
Annnnnd, here is Destiny’s story! She is the warrior, we were told she loved Marshall arts; was the sister who knew how to kick ass. LOL And, now she is undercover, as she infiltrated the Clerics, a very powerful force in Alera . Her sisters discover that she is in danger. A fierce fighter, assassin for Alera ,Nix has rushed to help her. And, he finds out that she is his Mate.
Uh, Oh, Destiny does not want anyone to protect her! She would like a partner but she is drawn to Nix. Two Alpha’s – yes, the sparks fly and there is a battle of wills. It gets very steamy, suspenseful, powerful emotions and mystery.
We know each of the sisters – Trinity, Faith and Destiny are strong women with distinct strengths and with the help of their Mates, they slowly get closer to discovering the mastermind behind the plot to overthrow the Aleran ruling family.
This is an amazing collection of SciFi erotic, romance stories at its best! Grace Goodwin continues to keep us engaged, worried, loving the twists and turns in the story. Don’t forget that each book is a cliffhanger, each book tells its own story but they are all intertwined and each story keeps you on edge and is a page turner. The Princesses have found their mates, but they are not safe, their mother has not been found and we continue to worry and fret and try to wait patiently for the next story………….
I am loving Faith and Nix. I love that Grace has created these female characters strong and warriorlike. I love the love story between the characters. They show how strong couples support each other. Can’t wait for more!!
***warning*** As with Trinity’s and Faith’s stories – this is the middle part of Destiny’s story and ends in a major cliffhanger
I truly love how much trouble Destiny is giving Nix! Destiny is a freakin’ kick-ass, trouble finding, problem solving (in a physical way), firecracker that is not willing to put up with men’s sh*t. Nix is all about protecting Destiny and keeping her out of trouble and danger (hence – the men’s sh*t). I love that Nix finds out the hard way that Destiny is going to stop at nothing to find her mom and save her sisters and the Aleran people.
Only one more segment to go! There are still so many unanswered questions and the queen is still missing. February is so far away!
Even though I love the series – grab Trinity (books 1-3) and Faith (books 4-6) but unless you want the agony of the cliffhanger, hold out until book 9 comes out for Destiny’s complete story. I am impatient and hate segmented reads but there are less than a handful of authors I will willing read a serial and Grace Goodwin is definitely on that list.
This one is full of action and suspence and some humor as the 3 sisters get closer and closer its so nerve racking I cant turn the pages fast enough. Destiny and Nix have incredible chemistry as Nix shadows her every move with no space to breath and I love him for it the great big protector. Favorite couple ever in these series as they continue to sedate their audor and it comes to an end and the word Love is in the air.
I love this series, but the damn clifhanger are making me regret I’m not patient enough to wait for the full story to come out before reading it. Once more the author mastered the balance between sexy, action, suspense and funny scenes. I can’t wait for the next book to come out
Book two in Nix and Destiny’s story arc delivers more drama, heat and suspense. The tension really seems to ratchet up as we are closing in on the end of this series and finally getting the answers we all have been waiting for. I must say that Destiny and Nix are my favorite couple in this series and I honestly do not know which is hotter, the steam they generate with their passion or the heat from the sparks they generate from their battle of wills! Either way, I adore them and an enjoying every minute of their story. Still wish each book was longer though.
Now in this second part of the story of Destiny we get further into the grand finale I believe. And wow just wow, of course there part ends where it does, in the throes of suspense. Now I really really really wish that the whole story was here… have to wait and wait, there is no other option… This part is for some reason so much better than the first part so clearly five stars!

Sci-fi ROMANCE at its ABSOLUTE BEST! A superbly sensuous & erotic romance; a page-turning MUST-BUY!
Author Grace Goodwin uses her superbly descriptive and sensuous prose to capture a reader’s imagination within the first paragraph of this novella’s prologue! “ASCENSION SAGA (Book 8)” is exactly what the title suggests . . . a story about a royal ascending to the throne. For those who are already fans of Goodwin’s INTERSTELLAR BRIDES Series, “ASCENSION SAGA (Book 8)” will feel like you’ve come home again, despite the brave new world of Aleran. In this 8th novella, Goodwin’s smooth pose continues to focus on Destiny’s part of the “ASCENSION SAGA.” Through the use of dual narration, the alternating voice between the heroine, Destiny, and hero, Nix, will endear those characters to a reader’s heart and have readers rooting for their happiness and the successful completion of their mission. In this 8th book, Destiny uses her Citadel given skill to once again, slip away from her mate Nix to plan and implement a last-ditch effort to rescue their mother, Queen Celene, along with her sisters and the Queen’s guard. So, readers know that this intensely complex, action-packed, and compelling plotline will pull you out of your real-world circumstances and take you deeper into the matriarchal world of Aleran! I voluntarily read “ASCENSION SAGA (Book 8),” and this is my honest review and 5+STAR recommendation! As a practice, I do not give more than 4½ stars to a novella, but “ASCENSION SAGA (Book 8)” is just too good to limit, and there is more to come! If you have not already done so, PURCHASE THIS BOOK! Then clear the calendar for the next couple of hours with a glass of wine (or water if you prefer it) and dive right in. (Also, it would be kind to let readers know at this point, there is a free Prequel that provides some backstory on the three sisters, but it is not essential to read the Prequel first.) Happy pages!
