As Sick as Our Secrets is a dark, fast-paced thriller with strong characters. If you are a fan of Gillian Flynn, Paula Hawkins, Liane Moriarty, and Caroline Kepnes, and enjoy TV shows and movies like Twin Peaks, The Killing, Law & Order: SVU, and 8MM, then this book might be your next favorite read.

As tough as some parts were to read, it was one of those stories I could not put down! I had to keep reading until I knew how this would all resolve. Who likes psychological thrillers should love this book!
Absolutely chilling and unfathomable! A vivid look into the mind of a sociopath. A.B. Whelan has a new fan in me!

Thank you Weapenry Co-Op and Net Gallery for this roller coaster, intense, suspenseful novel.
This is a book about Ashley, Olivia, and Betty who team up to catch the 50 Shades killer who they believe is Olivia’s husband, Richard.
Richard works helping women and children find hope in their lives away from abusive men. I didn’t like Richard, he is arrogant, abusive, and mean to his wife. I do like how she does little things to his stuff that he doesn’t know about. This makes Olivia feel better in a way. Olivia wakes up one day to feel like she has been drugged. Her husband dismisses it like it was a sneeze. While Richard is at work, Olivia goes snooping through his belongings and finds more than she bargained for. This sets Olivia and her friends into bringing Richard to justice, if he is the true 50 Shades killer. When Ashley asks Olivia to see a client name Skyler, Olivia gets hooked on trying to find out what happened to Skyler once she misses a lot of her appointments and family dismisses her. Olivia is bored and under Richard’s thumb that she makes this her mission behind his back.
There is a great revenge scene in this book. I loved how this book flowed through the pages, I tried putting this book down and kept picking it up almost immediately. I recommend.
thanks again
This is a good suspense/thriller that deals with a pretty tough subject matter. I enjoyed the friendship between the three main female characters – the way they support each other and use tough love is amazing. All of the characters in this book feel very real – they all have flaws, some pretty serious ones at that. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be the last.
I enjoyed it very much lots of twist and intriguing
The subject matter is not for the faint of heart, it doesn’t go into much detail but some people may be offended by it. That being said, I thought it was a pretty good book, the three characters Betty, Ashley and Olivia initially got on my nerves and this made it difficult for me to get into the book. The first half really seemed to move slow, but once the ladies started finding their strength the story picked up. The last 1/3 of the book was the best.
ASAOS is a gripping pyschological thriller that pulls you in from the very beginning. I cannot recommend this book enough to my thriller/crime/pyschological loving book friends 🙂 Even if that isn’t your usual genre, as sick as our secrets will captivate you!
Well…I only wrote down one sentence in my notebook for review notes:
Olivia lives the world of a rich, trophy wife. She is a slave to her husband, not free to do anything he doesn’t approve. I love that she has her way of getting even and letting out a bit of her frustration. I laughed out loud. Take that Mr Serial Killer.
This is not a dark and gritty, soul sucking suspense thriller that I love so much, but it does have its moments. I saw where someone likened it to Big Little Lies and I agree.
As Sick As Our Lives, to me, is an in depth look at someone who is so beaten down by her husband, that she cannot make a move without his approval. It’s not about the serial killer husband, it’s about her, Olivia. It takes her a long time to come to realize and accept who he is and what she is going to do about.it.
You have to walk in her steps. Live in her make believe world where all is sunshine and unicorns…NOT. It is easy to put on a false face. to hide your true self from others. Imagine you are frozen, unable to make any decision for yourself. How long would it be before you make a move to save yourself? How would you go about getting our from under a domineering, controlling, dangerous significant other? Some women never do, and pay the ultimate price. Is that Olivia’s future? Waiting for HIM to be done with her? Waiting for HIM to decide when he has had enough of her? Or…
You will have to read it for yourself to find out. LOL
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of As Sick As Our Secrets by A B Whelan.

Olivia Campbell is married, has A beautiful home, financial security ,,, she also has secrets.
But she’s not the only one ….. finding a journal in her husband’s study, she discovers that he also has secrets he has kept from her.
When a young girl goes missing, she becomes embroiled into the investigation. The things she discovers are only coincidences …. or are they? Does she really want to know?
This was not as suspenseful as what I was suspecting, but there are a few twists and turns to keep things interesting. The characters are finely drawn.
Many thanks to the author / InMotion Capital / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Psychological Drama/Thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
uNLIKELY, UNREALISTIC, ABSURD STORY, DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW BECAUSE OF THE SWITCHING BETWEEN CHARACTERS’ PERSPECTIVES AND FIRST AND THIRD PERSON STORY-TELLING. nO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. iT SEEMED AS IF THE AUTHOR JUST PICKED VARIOUS SCENARIOS FROM DIFFERENT BOOKS SHE HAD READ AND TRIED TO FORCE A NOVEL OUT.
