Seventeen-year-old CJ Ainsworth doesn’t drive—not because she can’t, but because she won’t.She’s been living with the guilt of being the sole survivor of the head-oncollision that claimed her mother’s and sister’s lives. It’s the reason she refuses to get behind the wheel. It’s the reason her father has nearly abandoned her. It’s the reason she’s sent to piddle the summer away at her estranged … Memaw’s house in Edisto Beach. All CJ wants to do is isolate herself and make it to the trial at summer’s end, where she’ll testify against the stranger who couldn’t keep his car in its own lane. She doesn’t expect to fall for a boy, especially not Jett Ramsey, a hotshot racing champion destined for greatness on the NASCAR circuit. CJ’s resolve crumbles when she loses a bet that puts her squarely in Jett’sdriver’s seat. While he patiently reintroduces her to driving, they confide in each other, and CJ learns she’s not the only one silently suffering through a loss.As their connection deepens, Jett’s focus on the track is called into question. CJ can’t be the cause of another car crash, but her heart is broken either way. Can CJ learn to put her heart in drive? Or will she throw it in reverse?

I’ve come to learn that if it’s contemporary, Brandy Woods Snow does not disappoint!
As soon as I dove into As Much As I Ever Could, I fell in love with CJ! She was awesome and has a brain full of baggage that she has to deal with. And then there’s my boy! Jett! Loved him! And he was the perfect book boyfriend! Plus, he drives fast cars! Now put these two characters together and you get swoon galore!
There was some great side characters too! Memaw! I want a Memaw in my life!
Overall this was a super fun book filled with emotion and kisses and drama and awesomeness! And the dialogue was so freaking good!
I received ebook arc from the publishing copy in return for my honest thoughts and my review. This book does come out on May 26, 2020 I highly recommend picking this book up. I have so many notes and favorite parts in this book. The characters are all amazing and relatable. I didn’t want this book to end. I guess that why it took me so a little bite longer to read. This easy/ page turner. The author does amazing job with the story and the characters.
About Book- CJ has been dropped off by her father at her grandmothers that she hasn’t seen in many years. CJ is fighting with herself and distancing herself from everyone. From recent loss thrash’s blames herself for. She meets Gin and Bo and Jett. It becomes a summer full of excitement and emotions. Thank you to the publisher/author for this early amazing read. Highly recommend this book…
Disclaimer – I received a free digital download of this book by Filles Vertes Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
I found ‘As much as I ever could’ to be an incredibly moving read about young romance and overcoming life changing hurdles. It’s definitely a young adult/teenage book with the book being written in first person narrative of 17 year old CJ.
CJ lost herself when a road accident claims the lives of both her mother and sister, leaving her the sole survivor. The survivor guilt is dragging her under with no amount of therapy helping her through, will her father sending her to her estranged Memaw’s house help her find her way back or send her further off of the deep end?
The storyline was really enjoyable to read and really well thought out. I appreciated the struggles that all the main characters found themselves going through and even found myself going through them too. I would have liked to hear Jett’s point of view, just because I enjoy romance books more when you hear both the man and woman’s point of views, but it didn’t detract from the story or the book as a whole.
I liked that the book showed a healthy relationship with boundaries that were respected by both parties. I think it’s a really important time for romance books to encompass what a fulfilling and good relationship is rather than promoting the more toxic sides and romanticising things that shouldn’t necessarily be happening in relationships. I think it’s even more important in teenage/young adult romance.
I would definitely recommend this book to teenage/ young adult readers and enthusiasts.
I read the first chapter of As Much As I Ever Could whilst I had some free time before heading out for a few hours and boy was I frustrated about having to put it down. This beautiful story about strength and healing takes hold straight away and leaves you wanting to know more. As soon as I was able, I picked up my Kindle again and didn’t stop reading until the end. I can’t believe this is only the author’s second book because it’s so well written and has you right there in the story experiencing everything with the characters. There were parts that made me laugh, some that made me want to cry and others that had me yearning for the kind of relationship CJ and Jett had. There’s some amazing secondary characters – everyone needs a Memaw in their life, and there’s also one character you’ll dislike right from the first moment of meeting her – every good romance needs a villain, right? I kept having to tell myself not to rush ahead whilst reading because even though I wanted to find out if CJ and Jett would last past the summer, I also didn’t want to miss a single thing that happened between this couple. Brandy Woods Snow is a new author to me and I’m looking forward to following her journey towards success!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
Just the book you want to read for a bit of romance this summer! Made me feel like I was seventeen again, hanging out at the beach, falling in love!
This book is BEAUTIFUL, sooo BEAUTIFUL!!! It touched my heart in a million ways. I’m completely in love with Jett & C.J.
This story was filled with so much. It’s a YA Contemporary Romance and so much more. It’s about scars, inside & out, dealing with the loss of loved ones, friends, family, loving yourself and falling in love. I bought the book first & foremost for the gorgeous cover. Second the description intrigued me. But the story won me over!!!
I will say, with the paperback I received. The cover is awesome, but the font and formatting wasn’t great. The font is tiny and light and the beginning of each chapter the formatting had some errors. But, no matter, the story is worth it! And it will look great on my bookshelf!!! I’m sooo glad to have read it, it will stick with me for a long time!!!
This is a book about young love, moving on from tragedy, learning to trust, learning to forgive, and finding a way to love yourself, so you in turn can love others. The author takes you on emotional journey in the life’s of CJ and Jett, as they learn to navigate a world where they can trust and love each other and deal with the emotional baggage each carries. CJ and Jett have great chemistry, their feelings for each other are palpable, but Snow also weaves a great cast of supporting characters into the story…Memaw is the best. This is well written, enjoyable yet emotional book that will keep you enthralled from start to finish. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was wonderful! Such a cute, heartfelt story with fun memorable characters. CJ/Cami is dealing with a major loss and is pushing all the good in her life away. Her father decides she is going to go stay with her grandmother in a small seaside town for the summer because of her morose attitude. Love that setting! Cami meets NASCAR hopeful, Jett, which causes some problems for her plans to remain unhappy and non-driving. Cami and Jett recognize a kindred spirit in each other; the connection is instant and won’t be denied. These two have some things to work through; there’s some teenage angst going on, but they are just what the other one needed. This story is only told from Cami’s view, but the author did a great job of showing the emotions Jett feels for Cami. This reminded me of a slightly more mature Sarah Dessen book; just the whole feel of the story, which I love, so I was really enjoying the whole impact of this story. This is an emotional story dealing with some difficult subjects, but there’s a ray of hope that touches the heart. Really loved this! This is my first book by this author, but after reading this, I’m excited to check out more! Such a touching read!
