Emma came to Valor Lake to escape. She didn’t expect to stumble upon an ancient secret… sees that man later in a bar. A muscular, oddly intriguing person, who offers to take her fishing.
Arthur, meanwhile, knows he’s down on his luck. But there’s a new woman in town, someone who hasn’t had the opportunity yet to get to know the locals. Arthur intends to help her. For completely altruistic reasons, of course. He can take her to his favorite spot and teach her the ways of nature.
Nature sometimes has a habit of biting back, however…
Warning: This is a HEA stand alone series book that contains mature sexy content intended for 18 years and above.

Emma left everyone and everything behind when she moved from Phoenix. She bought a cell but kept her old one just for a tie to family although she wouldn;t get in touch with them. One night four weeks later she hears a commotion outside and watches as a woman tosses not only a man out but all his stuff. Her first irreverent thought is that she wished she had popcorn to watch the show. The next morning at the local pub, she meets the guy who was the toss out. He introduces himself as Arthur. Surprising himself, he invites her to go fishing with him and his sister. A few days later Arthur, his sister and Emma are at a lake fishing. Emma is still reeling from accepting the invitation and Arthur is still reeling from inviting her. But that;s nothing to the way both their lives are going take a turn for good or bad but whichever life will be interesting from here on out.
Cute story of two people trying to find themselves and feel totally lost.

Great storyline and characters that draw you into their world. Arthur and Emma are great together and he gives her stability and strength to be more confident. Love the ending!
This story was interesting, and the author did a good job of informing us of her shifter world without taking away from the story. I was disappointed in the ending, because it took away from the character of Arthur. Emma is a victim of bullying, but Arthur helps her stand up for herself. This makes me believe Emily will grow in character, now that she has taken initiative in her life.
Beginning of a new bear shifter series. From the title you can easily tell who is going to get the lady but that isn’t always easy. The woman is running from family and an abusive ex. But meeting this bear family will be the start she needs. I loved the grandmother in this story. She is definitely a character. A fast love story where you know when you meet the right person. Some bear fighting and some mild bedroom scenes.

A well written fast paced shifter romance. It is a short read but has a nice storyline and plot. Two main characters that are likeable and well described. They have both got a lot from their past to handle but can they make it work together despite of all the others who wants them not to succeed?
Captivating and engaging read.
This book affirmed an ole age tag, “You are stronger than you think you are,” and “Struggles just make you stronger and wiser. Loved all the characters in the book and it’s nice to see girl power exhibiting independence and self awareness. I’m not going to spoil the story for others BUt the love screens were hot, hot, hot! Theyl’ll make you wish that bears could deliver good ole fashion loving in true life.

Arthur’s Mate is a fast paced, emotional read about Emma who has left an abusive relationship and Arthur a bear shifter. Love the witty banter and the steamy chemistry between Emma and Arthur. This is an entertaining story full of drama, suspense, action, twists and turns and a great HEA.

I liked this fast-paced shifter read. Both Emma and Arthur have a lot of baggage. When they meet at a bar, sparks fly. Will Emma and Arthur get past the people who want to keep them apart and find their HEA? Entertaining read with plenty of drama and great chemistry. I really liked it.
Sweetly thrilling, action packed and emotional romantic adventure filled with unknown danger, shocking secrets and heart pounding passion…. enjoyed every exciting twist and turn.
Emma ran to Valor Lake to start over and escape the past…. Arthur is under family presser to find a mate and produce an heir, but has not had much luck…. The banter is witty, the action sexy, the thrills dangerous and it all makes for a highly entertaining evening.
I enjoyed reading this book. Emma’s character is so fragile and timid, and so in need of compassion that meeting up with Arthur was a good thing. A supportive friend then passionate lover whose bear shifter family made her feel welcome and wanted. Unavoidable confrontations with her family and abusive ex, and the nefarious plots of Arthur’s murderous uncle add anxiety and danger to the storyline. Good job!

I finished this book in a couple of hours – moved along fairly well and was able to keep my attention. If you want a quick read with no suspense this is the book for you. I do like that it approached a couple of sensitive subjects that made the lady of the story seem more real. I also liked the more detailed side of “how” shifters evolved- that was a differed twist from many of the shifter books I have read.
I do recommend this book for those that like the shifter romance stories.

Emma weighed the pros and cons of city versus country living as she waited for the typically late bus to take her to the city, rain dripping on her through the worn roof of the bus stop. She had to switch buses during the lengthy trip to the city, and her office didn’t close up until after the bus she needed to catch had just left. The rent was cheap, but she now knew that was because she lived in the middle of nowhere! But the good part was that it was far away from her emotionally cruel family and her abusive ex, Marcus.
Arthur, in the meantime, is feeling pressure from his family to find a mate and produce an heir so that his uncle won’t try to take over their land. He just hasn’t been able to find someone. His last girlfriend was a psycho who threw out all his belongings and kept his car! The next day, Arthur borrowed his sister’s car and went to the local bar to de-stress. He spotted a blond stranger in the corner and decided to see if she was okay. After all, it was pretty early to hang out in a bar! Apparently she had seen and heard the scuffle when his girlfriend threw him out. And she had rescued the things she continued to throw out when his police friends drove him home. She invited him over to get whatever was still useable. He ended up inviting her to go fishing or hunting with him, and offered to introduce her to his sister if she was lonely.
Arthur’s conversation with Emma was bringing out his protective instincts. He appreciates her honesty and can see how lonely she is. He and Emma joined his sister, Yara, on their first fishing trip together. The siblings taught her how to cast and reel in the line to catch a type of salmon. Once she got the hang of it, she was having fun and relaxing. She caught the first one and Arthur helped her reel it in as they laughed together. But none of them realize there is danger facing all of them. Emma doesn’t yet know that her new friends are bear shifters. And the Uncle will do whatever he can to get the land. And Emma has an ex who doesn’t want her to get away from him. Where will this lead? Can Emma accept the truth she will discover about Arthur? Can he keep her safe from both families? Could their enemies cause them to move even closer together?
This is a good story and I enjoyed the character development of the main characters as they got to know each other. Grab your copy and see what’s in store for Emma and Arthur. This could be the end for them!
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the good storyline and great characters that kept me totally engrossed until the turn of the very last page!
A new series called Bears of Valor Lake it is a quick fast read of 98 pages, I will be looking for the next book in this series. Human Emma and Bear shifter Arthur both have enemies in their lives. A story of villains on both sides, drama, suspense, danger, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having had enough of continually being put down, made to feel like she was crazy, and a suicide attempt, Emma decided enough was enough and ran away from her mentally abusive boyfriend and her irresponsible parents. What she found there was more than she could ever imagine. Although this was an easy read with a suspenseful storyline, I felt it was a little slow in the telling. I enjoyed the characters and their interaction with each other and especially got tickled over Grandma Jackie! All in all, a solid 4 review and one I’d recommend.
