Art of the Heart: Anna-Jane’s Story – This is the beginning story about the Wyatt Family. Like many of Ms. May’s stories, this one also has interesting storylines, good, decent characters and glimpses to small town living. There’s humor, plenty of love and values and morals. AJ and Cody made the perfect sappy, sweet and caring couple. Adding the input from their families added more to the foundation of the series and substance to the story. There was a bit too much detail about their daily lives and thoughts. 4*
The Vacation Cottage – I’ve read several of Ms. Mays’ book and this just became my favorite. If you enjoyed the movie The Holiday, you’ll like this sweet, simple, quick to read, feel good story. Told in a lackadaisical style from both her and his views, of their adventures and discoveries for the three weeks during their house swap. The story is bright and shiny, with some really nice characters that bring the home feeling in both locations. Of course, there’s a not so nice person that is necessary, but she’s not evil on wheels, just selfish. I like there is never any stupid formulas being followed, just real people with real dialog set in a realistic world. 4*
Sweetwater Island Ferry Trilogy:
For Love … and Donuts #1 – I read the second book first and I enjoyed this one more. The well thought out storylines just felt similar to slipping on a pair of comfy, cozy slippers and sharing a cup of tea. I liked the characters; they were so realistic and human, and worked so well together: Virginia , Tristan and Sam were perfect. Of course, the story needed Jason for to all end well. I found the cottage and the island to be important characters in their own right. This fast flowing, easy to read story was entertaining and enjoyable. I loved that the author gave enough details without doing the daily, boring grind some authors do; writing about every unimportant detail instead of letting time past and writing about the important parts. An enjoyable, clean, happy read. 4*
To Love … and Renovate #2 – This story takes place six months after Donuts ends. I didn’t get to read the first book of this series, which I think would have made this book more meaningful to me. Well written and easy to read with likable characters and a plot full of happenings. Of course, there’s wedding details still to be completed, working at their jobs and trying to wait for the wedding night, why wouldn’t there be drama? But there was fun and laughter, too. A good balance throughout the book. I liked Virginia’s calm approach to the wedding preparations. Oh, don’t forget the elephant in the pink tutu – the renovations. I appreciate this being a clean story, which only needed minor editing. 4* Update: I reread this after reading Donuts and I liked the story better. I recommend these three in order written since they are about Virginia, Tristan and Sam.
With Love … and Reality TV #3 – This story takes place four months after Renovate ends. I don’t really care too much for Hollywood and TV, but this was a local station with a surprise character and a surprise deal. An entertaining, sweet read with plenty of romance and problems for everybody. The storylines were interesting; the characters multi-faceted and there’s plenty of emotions running the gamut. I just wish Ms. Mayes would edit her books, the errors do distract from the story. 4*
Sweetwater Island Ferry Trilogy end.
Unexpected Events – This is a quickly read, sweet romance between old friends. The characters are believable without any stupid dialog or actions. The storyline is interesting. A nice story for relaxing with a cuppa. 4*
Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses – A collection of six stories by an author I haven’t read before this collection. The Introduction has overviews of all six books, which I appreciate knowing about a story before I read it. All six are clean, quickly read and interesting; perfect for relaxing with a cuppa. Needs minor editing. 4*
From New York, With Love – Yankee city girl finds the South not as backwards, out-of-date and uncultured as she naively thought originally. She learns what is really important. 3.5*
A Whole Latte Christmas – A fun, heartwarming story filled with family and love while she learns to trust love again. My favorite story, just perfect for a cuppa and a snuggle. 4*
Key West Christmas – I’m wrong; this is my favorite story! A heartwarming story of change made better by a fun, loving, caring man and a good landlady turned friend. Learning to make new traditions. 5*
A Girl’s Guide To Creating Christmas – One of the best Christmas stories I’ve read in a long time. Fun, heartwarming and filled with the wonders and true meaning of Christmas. A second chance at life and love. 5*
Santa Baby, Maybe – What a delightful story, which is from his point of view. This quickly read short is entertaining and hard to put down. Full of sweetness with good characters that you feel comfortable sharing their story. Set from just before Thanksgiving through to Christmas Eve, this is a perfect holiday break. 4*
Scottish Holiday – This was such a good story until the overused, boring stupidity formula kicked in. What is she, an eight-year-old? I lost interest in the rest of this story since I lost respect for Jillian with her immaturity. OK, dealing with instant love is something I can overlook, it is a short story, but when she sees him being kissed by another woman, she runs away. I dislike this stupidity formula, which just about everyone seems to use. I personally do not know too many women who act with such immaturity. How can other female readers allow this behavior to exist without complaint? There are so many ways to bring strife in a relationship regardless of its length. The stupidity formula always brings predictability and boredom full strength. I stopped at page 73. I have read other books/shorts by this author that I found entertaining. 2*
Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses End.
This was such a great book. I enjoyed every page of it. Sophie Mays has done such a great job with all the characters.
Anna-Jane Wyatt (AJ) is a growing artist who has come home to help her family with projects around the ranch.
Cody Woods owns the coffee shop that AJ stopped in to see what all the hype was on Valentines day. Word of mouth brought her here because she had heard of a special coffee drink that was only made for one day. Once that day was done then they would not serve it again.
Cody and AJ had went to school together when they were younger but she paid no mind to him. On the other hand, Cody always liked her from the time they met. He never let anyone know his feelings for her. After all this time, they finally met up again.
They decided to go out on a date to see how things would go. Will they live happily ever after or will they end up with broken hearts?

Beautiful contemporary romance! I loved the artistry of both parties with drawings and in the bakery! Plenty of clean chemistry along with ups and downs and hurdles of any relationship. Beautiful story line and wonderful characters! I felt like I was right there with the characters! The author did an amazing job of weaving you into the story and you find yourself invested until you finish:) I highly recommend this book! Happy Reading!
