“For the thrill-seeking romance reader who isn’t afraid of the dark. Bliss. Heartache. Enchantment. No emotion is left untouched.” JB Salsbury, New York Times Bestselling AuthorGideon Masters is the king of the art world, and he’s found his next muse…Me.Only I’m not one of his usual, swooning female subjects. Trapped between ultimatums and bound by a contract, I’m only submitting to his whims … contract, I’m only submitting to his whims to save jobs. The last thing I want is the arrogant artist peering inside my mind while he paints my body.
But Gideon is more than he appears — and so am I. As I fall deeper under his sinful spell, a lifetime of secrets and lies unravels. Too late, I remember the dark truths they protect:
I am already someone’s masterpiece…
And the original artist wants me back.
Art of Sin ends on a cliffhanger, but the conclusion of Deirdre and Gideon’s story, Sin of Love, is available now!

The emotion I am feeling right now is indescribable. I just finished and usually take a day or so to gather my thoughts before leaving a review, but I just can’t with this one. Gideon and Deirdre might just be my two new favorites. This book is raw and full of feeling. I enjoyed seeing character cameos from some of the authors other books. Then there is Finn, I just want to squeeze him! I NEED book 2 now, I am sure the conclusion will be just as amazing.
This book was so good! Ms. Halloran has outdone herself with this duet! The main characters, Dierdre and Gideon sizzle with chemistry. Gideon is an artist and ends up Deirdre’s client. There are so many twists and turns and there is a cliffhanger, but the wait for book 2 is only a few weeks. Pick up your copy and let Gideon consume you!
I wish I could say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book, but let’s be real here. I’m well acquainted with Laura’s writing and knew going in that I would likely be enthralled by the story and that I’d lose all track of time.
Art of Sin may have begun as a slow seduction, but it quickly swept me away with these beautifully flawed characters whose chemistry was off the freaking charts. I wasn’t even annoyed that it was more of a slow burn because I was thoroughly enjoying the game they were playing.
Gideon was as infuriating as he was intriguing. I really wanted more of his backstory and I’m hoping that’ll come with the second part of the duet.
Deirdre, on the other hand, was someone I couldn’t get enough of. I loved how explosive she and Gideon were anytime they were near one another, and I adored her relationship with Nate. She’d been dragged to hell and back more than once in her life and I can’t wait to see her fighting spirit shine even more.
If you’re looking for a book to devour then this is most definitely it. And luckily for you, the conclusion to this duet will be here before the end of the month, because with the way Art of Sin ends? Yeah, you’re not gonna have much patience to hold onto!
Gideon Masters, an LA art darling is accused of art fraud currently represented by Deirde Moss, who is hired by his father. Masters Sr doesn’t derail his merger with Bron Systems.
Trent and Deidre are being demoted by Gideon Masters, Sr to handle the Gideon angle until the merger.
This was my first book by Ms.Halloran. I absolutely love Gideon and Deidre. I can’t wait
to find out how the story continues. I highly recommend this book. I have found a new author to love
Wow! I am speechless! I loved this book! I couldn’t read it fast enough! L.M. Halloran has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She has a wonderful way with her words. This book is dark, sexy and completely captivating. Gideon and Deidre have so much depth and I love watching them peel back each other’s layers. This book ends in a cliffhanger but I promise it will be so worth it.
A review is supposed to be about the book and the skill of the author who wrote it. This author always delivers authentic, endearing, multi-faceted characters and an evocative, poignant storyline, but after reading the last word of this one, I’m at a loss like I’ve never been before upon finishing a book. Confused. Dazed. Dumbfounded. Gob smacked. Awed. So yes, that’s about me, but it’s a reflection of this book and the author’s talent.
This is the part where I usually tell potential readers a little about the characters. Deirdre is a publicist and Gideon is an artist, and also Deirdre’s latest unruly, complicated client. But these descriptions are only a cheap mask or flimsy garments adorning these two characters. It’s like describing a tsunami as a gentle wave or a category four hurricane as a refreshing summer breeze.
Both are profoundly complex and deceptively deep, but with Gideon, the depth of his still waters and his ability to see beyond the façade and break through walls make it easy to love the man behind the devil-may-care attitude, ruthlessness and bad behavior. Deirdre has survived things no animal should have to endure, much less a young girl. She has her past firmly locked away and has created a strong, successful woman since those days. Gideon puts some dents in her armor, but when the past intrudes, Deirdre finds out how fragile the ephemeral illusion she’s created really is. She’s beautifully, devastatingly broken and holds tightly to that girl who was unworthy of love, but Gideon sees beyond her barriers to the depth of her soul and the precious gem she truly is.
If the amount of highlights in the read copy is any indicator of a book’s brilliance, this one is easily worthy of five stars. If the beauty, depth, complexity and poetry of the words is a gauge, it’s worthy of far more than that. Halloran always gives us characters who are equally devastated and devastating, but she broke the mold with Deirdre and Gideon. They have so many layers, and their story has such depths, that even reading it a dozen times, I may not uncover all there is to learn, understand and experience. Deirdre and Gideon are truly unforgettable. Their dark story to this point lacks the typical hearts and flowers, and this book ends on a heartbreaking low, but that just sets up the next book to be even more phenomenal. These characters will live forever in my heart, and I can’t wait to read their stunning conclusion!
Art of Sin by L.M. Halloran was my first read by this author and it was a great introduction. This book was a slow burn darker romance with characters that shared insane chemistry, was steamy and erotic and had a bit of mystery as well. Deirdre and Gideon’s story will consume you from start to finish.
Gideon is a famous artist who does not always makes the best choices. Enter Diedre, a publicist with a past that weighs on her. Yet she was able to build a successful life in spite of it. Now Gideon is her client and not making anything easy. Their chemistry was explosive and light up the pages. Art of Sin by L.M. Halloran was steamy, erotic and engaging. And that ending! I cannot wait to read the next book!

**ARC REVIEW**
Ahhhh I love this book!! Laura always blows me away with her writing. It’s so unique it just fascinates me.
Dierdre is a shark! She’s the best at her job and has lots of haters trying to get at her client list.
Gideon is the #1 sort out artist who everyone dreams to have his pieces and of course a piece of him. Except Dierdre she has a job to do and people depending on it.
The suspense and slow burn is so intense its unreal.
You may think you know Dierdre but you don’t!
Such an intriguing, breathless read!
****4.5 stars****
Art of Sin is sexy and dark. Gideon is the main attraction here, he enthralled me with his sharp edges and wicked sense of humour. Underneath all that lies a man haunted by his past. Deirdre held her own with her lonely heart to match Gideon’s. Her secrets consumed her and I loved Gideon’s masterful efforts in trying to break down her walls.
Laura Halloran’s first in a duet is captivating. Her writing gets better and better with each book. I can’t wait for the conclusion!
Wonderful beginning of a story that will keep you on your toes. It will make you want to cry right along with the characters. You feel as they do. Hats off to you LM!
Simply a work of art. Gideon and Deirdre’s story brings a wide range of emotions that have you glued in place while frantically turning the pages. A darkness engulfs them due to their past, holding them emotionally hostage. There is a light that can help set them free if they only rely and submit fully to one another. This is a one sitting read with a cliffhanger that has you grasping for more. If you want angst and a feel good heartache this is a must read.
L.M has kept me on my toes once again, sweeping me up and immersing me in this intense, suspenseful and captivating novel.
Deirdre embodies that of a lone wolf, strong, a survivor. She’s heavily guarded keeping everyone at arm’s length, only keeping those she care about close.
Gideon, a lion, wild and untamed, is a no holds barred kind of guy, who’s blunt and upfront.
When Gideon encounters Deirdre he slowly unravels her and slowly they discover and share dark pasts, filled with lies and deceit.
Love the crossover of characters from her Visions series as well as fresh characters like Finn which I’m secretly hoping gets his own story. This book is filled with a balance of witty banter/dialogue, strong characters, intense emotional scenes and the element of surprise.
This book ends with a cliffhanger but I’m counting down the days I can get my hands on the second of the duet. So worth the wait!!
Seductive, heartbreaking, emotionally intense, my heart is still reeling from this book. The characters, the story, it just pulls you in and captivates you. I loved Dierdre and Gideon. This book was amazing, I know the next one in this Duet is going to be fantastic too!! I can’t recommend this book enough. 5 Stars!!!
Once again LM has left me speechless. The beginning of Dierdre and Gideons story is absolutely stunning and left me wanting more and more. Dierdre is a strong, independent, PR rep who is attempting to work with Gideon, a dark and upcoming artist. Dierdre has a very disturbing and rough past, but can Gideon help bring her walls down? The connection they share is absolutely breathtaking and even the sub-characters keep you intrigued. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the second. This has been my favorite read of 2019 so far!
Laura never ever fails to write a captivating, intriguing and hot read. I don’t know how she does it, but I hope she never stops. I loved every word and can’t wait to read book 2.
I highly recommend it!
4*
Deirdre had the task of trying to get Gideon to conform and behave in order to save her colleagues jobs.
Gideon turns the tables and contracts her to pose for 6 months so he can paint her. A story of betrayal, loss, deception it shows them all.
Desperate for the next instalment “Sin of love”.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This book is an exquisite work of art. Right from the beginning I was dragged into Gideon and Deirdre’s world, and I didn’t want to leave.
I was swept away by this dark, sensual story. I couldn’t wait to turn each page and find out what was happening next. Gideon is one of those characters that you kind of want to hate, but he worms his way into your heart and you can’t help but adore him.
I love that Deirdre is force of nature, and doesn’t let Gideon walk all over here
They are the light to each others dark, and you can see them opening up to each other.
Until we are cliffied – however it was to be expected since this is a duet.
We don’t have long until the next installment, and I will be diving right in as soon as it is available.
What an ending!! I really enjoyed this book! It did take me a while to get into it but once I did I couldn’t stop reading. I like that the heroine Deirdre was strong yet vulnerable at the same time. Deirdre job is to keep Gideon out of the papers fir 6 months and Gideon is a artist and he wants to paint Deirdre, so they come up with a contact. He gets to paint her however he wants and he’ll stay out of the tabloids. They both have some dark secrets and they both see the dark in each other. I can’t wait for the next book! It does end on a cliffhanger.
I don’t even know if I can express how this book made me feel. I FLOVE Gideon!! I have read this book a few times plus skimming through. So much emotion. It stays with you. LM delivers all the feels. Deirdre starts off as a glossy, cold, beautiful, all business woman. She works very hard to keep people at a distance. But she is good at her job. And her talents put her directly in Gideon’s path. And he finds himself drawn to her as much as she’s drawn to him. Their chemistry is fiery. He wants her as his muse. Little did he expect her surface gloss to hide what it does. Deirdre’s past comes back to haunt her. And it leads to the break down of her present. LM leaves us broken down to pieces. The cliffhanger leaves you feeling devastated, but it is oh so good. I love the darkness in this book. And we get to see Eden, Liam, Dominic, London, Nate again, and we meet a new interest, Finn. So much delicious angst!! This book appeals to that dark angsty hole in my heart. Know it will leave you broken. The bookover is real. But oh so worth it!! Enjoy the dark. Revel in it. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
There wasn’t a moment throughout the story that wasn’t emotional. I felt so much… I felt the pain, the struggle, the emptiness, and the lack of love because of Deirdre Moss. She was totally flawed and I loved her for it. She was human in way that most choose not to be. Deirdre put up barriers and put on a mask and hoped she could make it. But it was a losing battle, especially when life threw her Gideon Masters.
Damn that man… He was unfiltered. He was unapologetic. He was absolutely beautiful. Gideon felt so much but only showed everything to select few. I loved when Deirdre became one of those select few. There was so many good quotes throughout the Art of Sin.
“What if I”m afraid of my own darkness?”
“Then I’ll set the world on fire to bring you light?”
The words Gideon brings shed so much light in the midst of Deirdre’s every present darkness. I want their HEA. I want the struggle, which took place to mean something. I can’t wait to dive into Sin of Love.
