He’s ruthless. And he won’t stop until he has her right where he wants her …
Luna LaRoux has poured her heart and soul into her waterfront bar and restaurant, which has the best sunsets in Key West. The only problem is, Luna’s best friend and business partner Josie is having money problems, and with twins on the way, Josie has no choice but to sell her half of the business. Actually, it’s 51%.… of the business. Actually, it’s 51%.
Gage McCabe is spending the weekend in Key West when he happens to overhear an interesting conversation. Between a very-pregnant majority shareholder and her stunningly beautiful–and deliciously desperate–business partner.
Gage can’t resist. The bar is obviously a thriving business, and his new partner will just have to get used to him calling the shots … if she doesn’t kill him first. It’s this detail that frustrates him the most: she seems entirely immune to his charms. Unheard of. Gage is so sure of his own allure, he bets Luna his share that she’ll surrender to him within a month–or the bar is hers.
Perfect. All Luna has to do is resist his drop-dead gorgeous looks, his smug charisma and his impressive … endowments, then she’ll be rid of him for good. Easy, right?
Arrogant Player is a sexy standalone enemies-to-lovers romance starring an alpha playboy and the one woman he can’t control … or stay away from.
Book 3 in the McCabe Brothers series

Instant Love. Gage is lured down to the Keys for a weekend with someone he doesn’t want to be with. He fixes that problem and runs into Josie and Luna in an eclectic bar on the beach. He’s instantly captured by Luna, but Luna is definitely not captivated by Gage. He finagles his way into a business deal, as he is the king of business deals and owner of many businesses already. He wants Luna and will make the deal of the century to do it and still retain 51% of her business, she has to listen to him, doesn’t she?
There’s history with Luna and Gage is persistent, breaking into her apartment, but also using his shoulders so she can lean on him. It’s really sweet what he does for Luna and even Josie. The McCabe/Tucker family definitely has jeans to die for. This a feel good story for sure. You won’t be disappointed.
Arrogant Bastard
By Julie Capulet
Julie Capulet writes like no other author. She has intriguing story lines as well as complex, sexy characters in all her books.
Arrogant Bastard was one of my favorites, but to be honest it was a hard choice because all of her books are so good.
Gage has been a Playboy his entire life and when he meets a woman who “WOWS” him, he figures she will fall at his feet like all the rest!
It doesn’t happen because Luna has been burnt badly and doesn’t trust any men at all. Especially Ex-Football Players.
Gage is determined to win her over but the path he takes is a long winding road with a lot of bumps in it.
This was such an amazing book to read. I highly recommend it but be prepared for some steaming sex scenes and more.
This is my first time reading a Julie Capulet book and definitely enjoyed this story. I love an insta-love, dirty-talking hero, hot arrogant jerk being brought to his knees romance story, they are the best!
Gage falls fast and hard for Luna from the moment he sees her at her bar. I loved Gage, he was so dreamy, determined, passionate, and amazing overall. He will become your new book boyfriend.
I will definitely need to go back read the other two books in the series to really appreciate the McCabe brothers. Excited for the spin off series, of the Tucker Brothers.
Gage And Luna Find Love In A Sweet Love At First Sight Story! Gage Transitions From An Arrogant Bastard To A Devoted Romantic Effortlessly.
This is book three of The McCabe Brothers series of stand-alones about three orphaned brothers. The McCabe brothers consist of Bo, about twenty-one, Caleb, twenty-four, and Gage, twenty-seven. Their parents died about five years ago, leaving the boys wealthy but broken, each in their own way. Their father had run a successful investment company and taught his sons the ins and outs of investments when they were still small. He had given them real money to practice with, and today they have done well for themselves. All brothers have played quarterback at their hometown university in Michigan, student population 40,000.
Bo is the empathetic and romantic brother who famously promised his dying mother he would wait for true love. It was love at first sight for him when he saw Millie on the Jumbotron at the season opener for his senior year just a few months ago. She is quiet and uncertain, but Bo has no doubt that she is the one. Bo and Millie’s sweet story takes place in Hopeless Romantic, book one.
Caleb is the stormy but honorable brother who dealt with his parents’ death by going into service following college. Caleb returns from serving a year in Afghanistan, but he doesn’t come back the same person. He is haunted by loss and crippled by PTSD. He finds comfort in Violet, fun-loving party girl and psych nerd that hasn’t been kissed, Their instant love story, My Hero, is dark and stormy as well as heartbreaking.
This is Gage and Luna’s story, book three of the series.
Gage, twenty-seven, is a ruthless cynic and playboy. After college he left Ann Arbor, Michigan and returned to Chicago, from which the family had moved twenty years ago. He earned his MBA and made a name for himself as a the CEO of his own company. He lives life in the fast lane. He buys and sells companies and women routinely throw themselves at him. Although his father had told him how he found love at first sight with his mother, Gage never believed it would happen to him. He recently saw Bo, then Caleb, fall in love, but he still remains convinced it isn’t in the cards for him. He has never had a relationship, never been in love. It would be hard to find love when the women all come across as fake and interested in his money more so than him.
Luna LaRoux, twenty-three, is living her dream in Key West where she co-owns Sea Breeze, a seaside bar, with her best friend Josie. She is a free spirit. She and Josie had left Cedar Rapids, Iowa together right after high school and never looked back. Luna had lived with Josie’s family since she was twelve, and although she felt loved, she always felt like something was missing. Her own family was broken following her parents’ divorce. Since then, her parents had been too occupied with their own problems to worry much about her. After a difficult two years in high school, Luna had known that Cedar Rapids would never be home to her. But now Josie is six months pregnant from a one night stand, and she doesn’t even have a last name for the father. Luna has promised to stand by her side and help raise the baby, but when Josie discovers she is having twins, she makes the difficult choice to sell her share of the bar and return home where she has her three brothers, health insurance, and a home waiting for her.
When one of Gage’s recent one night stands takes the cufflinks left to him by his father and blackmails him into a weekend in Key West, he reluctantly agrees to meet her. He has no intention of spending more than a few minutes with her, but he does decide to stay in town a few days when realizes that his Nashville cousins have a Friday night gig in the area. The Tucker Brothers Band is a country rock band whose popularity recently took off (they will soon have a series of their own).
Taking in the Key West atmosphere, Gage wonders into a bar, never suspecting that his life will change as a result. When he sees the beautiful woman behind the bar he knows everything his father had told him about love is true. When he overhears her speaking to her friend, he sees his opportunity. He makes an offer that Josie can’t refuse.
Gage and Luna find love in a sweet love at first sight story. Luna has a history that she cannot let go of, so she resists Gage’s charms. Luna’s fears hold her hostage, but Gage is never deterred. He transitions from an arrogant bastard to a devoted romantic effortlessly. Their sweet and steamy story leads to a happy ending for the them and the McCabe family.
Gage and Luna find one another by chance, but their love is fated. The story is nicely written and character-driven. The plot is fairly simple. For those that pay close attention to detail, Luna’s timeline from leaving Iowa to the present doesn’t add up perfectly, but it isn’t critical to the story and is easily overlooked. The characters are sometimes too much in their head rather than in the moment, but their story is touching. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Gage and Luna. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
From the moment Gage sees Luna in this third book of the McCabe Brothers series, the obscenely rich and very unattached player starts his journey towards becoming a Believer … in destiny. Julie Capulet gives her readers characters who’ve already lost so much in their lives. In Gage’s case, his loss is due to the tragedy of his parents’ deaths and for Luna, it’s a life lived with parental neglect. Both characters are very well drawn and although I found Gage hard to like at the beginning, it wasn’t long before the author had skillfully written his story in a way that makes readers understand how Gage became the emotionally detached, driven and arrogant guy we first meet. The author takes you along on her characters’ journey to their HEA with humor, angst and lots of crazy heat. Each of the three books in this series can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand alone. Highly recommend! 🙂
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review
Gage is the oldest of the McCabe brothers and he embodies everything the name of the book entails. He is arrogant, rich and handsome, but once he falls he truly falls deep. I love Luna and her type of feistiness and her ability to try and be immune to Gage’s charms. This is the last in the series, and I can honestly say I think Ms. Capulet did indeed say the best for last. Great ending and looking forward to the next series.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
Book 3 and the final book in the McCabe Brothers series and each book can be read as a standalone. An enemies to lovers romance which is one of my favorite tropes and I was all in for it. Loved it so much. Gage and Luna were really good together. They had a great chemistry once they let it consume them. Very steamy. Highly recommend this whole series.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Great read! I love a cocky arrogant confidant man! I love what he was able to accomplish, his devotion and his love for his person. I love the writing and the fast pace of the story. Beautiful ending too!
Well, it happened.
Gage McCabe is now my favorite of the three McCabe brothers. I didn’t think it would be possible after reading Caleb’s book, but OMG. I swooned throughout this whole book. You know when you get that dreamy, far away look in your eyes while reading? Yeah, that was me while reading this story.
Enemies-to-lovers…check.
Dirty-talking Hero…oh yes, check.
A Hero who’s powerful, possessive, & passionate…check, check, check!
Gage is SO arrogant.
But he’s very confident while arrogant.
And he’s also SEXY AF while arrogant.
He knows what people see when they look at him. Women want him and men want to be him. He enters Luna’s bar one night and “accidentally” eavesdrops on a very important conversation.
Luna is sassy and headstrong and she has dreams. And they’re in Key West. Annnnnd she’s also anti-Gage. Big time. LOL. She has no time for relationships or flings or love or anything other than the success of her bar/restaurant.
But when her friend and business partner, Josie, decides she needs to move back to Iowa, Luna is torn. Torn between making a decision that could end her dream.
Imagine her surprise and anger and resentment when Mr. Sexy Arrogant Bastard himself approaches them and offers a deal that will change both of their lives.
Was this insta-love?
Oh yes.
But Gage didn’t want to accept it. Not right away. His inner dialogue was hilarious, because he just couldn’t figure out W. T. H. was going on and why he was having all these feelings. And Luna…well, she needed a little more coaxing and convincing that they were meant to meet, and destined to be together. She tried soooo hard to not want him. But Gage made it difficult, because he’s a gorgeous, sexy man.
And when Gage finally realized that she is THE ONE, and accepted it…it was a beautiful thing. It’s like a switch was flipped and he was all-in. Was he arrogant? Definitely. Was he a bastard? Some would say yes. But he more than made up for it in the end. When he falls, he falls hard. And when he loves, he loves BIG.
The steam level in this book was OFF THE CHARTS scorching hot. The dirty mouth on Gage…oh. my. goodness, DELICIOUS. *clutching my pearls*
This book made made me swoon, made my heart go pitter patter, and made my girly parts tingle.
If you loved books 1 & 2, you’ll need and love this book! If you haven’t read the McCabe brothers, this is me, telling you to go read them now.
p.s. Oh my goodness, the epilogues. They were the best! And the perfect set-up and tease for her next series with the sexy Tucker brothers. Bring. Them. On.
p.p.s. I just have to add… being an Iowa girl, I loved all the Iowa mentions!!
Wonderful!!
Gage was not a believer in True Love. He never wanted to feel what his parents had and what he blamed for their death. His brothers were idiots! UNTIL.. Gage walks into a bar and sees Luna. Luna is a bar owner along with her pregnant friend who needs to sell her share. Gage can’t pass up the chance to take on this feisty woman who turned him on and turned him down!! This was book 3 for the McCabe brothers, I can only hope we will see a spin off in the form of the Tucker family cousins to the McCabes
I read a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
The final McCabe brother gets his story, and it is my favorite of the three.
Let me tell you that I had severe reservations at my first introduction to Gage in this book. His arrogance level had both my eyebrows climbing and a (very delicate) snort coming from me. I will say that it did make me rub my hands knowing that he was going to be brought down a peg or two…and I was not disappointed. His fall is cataclysmic, and watching his struggle while trying to come to terms with all these FEELINGS was a great ride.
Our heroine, Luna, is amazingly mature with a hardened shell protecting a wounded center. She does her level best to steer clear of Gage to protect herself, but finds herself opening up to him as he shows her a different man than the one she initially met. Their story is surprisingly low in angst, and I loved how Gage wooed her. It could have come off as high handed, and it never did.
Overall, I really enjoyed the series, and this entry most of all.
This is book three, the final book in the McCabe Brothers series by Julie Capulet. I am such a fan of Julie’s heroes. I am a bit obsessed with her character Rafe from XOXO I Love You. I never thought anyone could ever compete with my love for him. Well, I was wrong.
Gage McCabe is twenty seven years old and runs his own business in Chicago. He has made himself rich buying up failing businesses and working his magic. Gage grew up constantly surrounded by the love his parents had for each other. With their story of love at first sight. But after he tragically lost them, he lost part of himself. He no longer believed himself capable of love. He is arrogant beyond belief. Women love him for what he can do for them but they only get one night. Never more. When you first meet Gage, you might even dislike him. But just wait. Because when Gage meets the one and only woman who seems to be immune to his charms, the woman that invades his dreams, his every waking thought, who challenges his sanity, well, it’s a beautiful thing.
Luna LaRoux co-owns a bar on the beach in Key West with her best friend, Josie. Josie owns fifty one percent to Luna’s forty nine. This is Luna’s dream, living on the beach, owning her own business. The bar was a fixer upper and needed a LOT of fixing up. But Josie unexpectedly found herself pregnant with twins and needed to sell her half.
“I don’t want to buy her. I have this unfamiliar urge to win her. She’ll fall in lust with me. She has to.”
Gage had randomly walked into the Sea Breeze off the beach and was sitting at the bar when he first saw her. She was beautiful and took his breath away. But for some reason, she doesn’t seem to notice him! When he overhears a conversation between the two owners and learns of their problem, he sees the perfect opportunity to win over this beautiful woman. He’ll be her business partner!
Gage was pretty hilarious. He was so perplexed! Why couldn’t he stop thinking about this woman that didn’t even want him? He could have anyone he wanted. Why did he only want her? He was buying a bar just to be near her! Maybe he was losing his sanity? Something special happened in this book. There was that “moment.” That moment where something happens that takes it from really enjoying the book to LOVING the book. I freaking love it when that happens.
This was such a fun read. Gage was perfect. And let me tell you that there are not one, not two but three epilogues. You’ll get all the happy ever after you can handle. We also get a big peek into the McCabe brother’s cousins, The Tucker Brothers Band, Travis, Vaughn and Kade. They are going to star in Julie’s new, upcoming series, Music City Lovers. The first book will be Nashville Days and will be Travis’s story. I couldn’t be more excited.
“You’re mine. I found you. And now that I have, I’m never letting go.”
I love reading Julie Capulet books and always look forward to new release.
This McCabe brothers keeps getting better and sweeter with each release and this 3rd book is no exception.
Gage McCabe is indeed an arrogant bastard who has shown his wild oats but was brought to his knees as soon as he sets his eyes on Luna. She knew his type and didn’t want to fall in love but her body is always betraying her when she’s around him. This is a ten out of ten and I recommend it.
I received a free copy for my honest opinion
This is book three in the McCabe Brothers series. I have absolutely loved each McCabe brother story and could not wait to read Gage’s story. I was not disappointed, wowzers. Luna’s story broke my heart, she has one heck of a past and baggage that needs to be disarmed. Gage needs to tackle it if he stands a chance with this amazing woman. He has his own eye opening life moment t that helps see clearly and sets him on the right path to a HEA. Amazing story! Enjoy!
I love Julie Capulet’s books so whenever I get a chance to read and review a new one, I jump at the chance! This one is so good, I think it may be my new favorite! Gage McCabe is just the perfect boyfriend and I loved how quickly he fell for Luna and didn’t waiver one bit!
With the reputation Gage has as a playboy, no one would possibly blame Luna for doubting Gage could have anything but a fleeting interest in her. That, coupled with her traumatic past, makes her immune to his charms – well, maybe not immune. Her body repeatedly betrays her whenever she is around him but her steely resolve keeps her focus where it needs to be. On her bar and not on him. He may be her new partner, but he wasn’t going to break her.
I love the persistence of Gage when he realizes that Luna is “the one” and the lengths he goes to prove it to her! He is so sweet and perfect and he made my insides melt in a puddle . Like I said before, I think this book is my new favorite just because I fell in love with Gage with how he treats both Luna and Josie.
This book is the third in the McCade Brothers but you can read them as standalones. They are all great on their own and Ms. Capulet gives them each their happily ever after. And several Epilogues to let you know they really do stay happy and I adore Epilogues! This is a SIX STAR READ!
Wow! Arrogant Bastard was an amazing story as it hooked me in from the first page until the last and I couldn’t put it down (stayed up til 3am until I finished it!). Gage really is an arrogant bastard (in the beginning) as he is a rich, arrogant, does-as-he-pleases playboy. The way he wouldn’t take no for an answer and his persistence when he approaches Luna drove me crazy. Luna is such a great character as she is sassy, strong and brave though is super vulnerable. I love her relationship with her bestie Josie. However, throughout the story, we start to see Gage’s vulnerability and his caring side as it relates to Luna. We also start to see Luna’s struggles with her past, with her present and also with her feelings to Gage. This HEA story has a melt-your-heart ending as Gage wins over Luna with his soft and romantic words and actions. And of course, the amazingly steamy parts as well!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I’m a huge fan of Julie Capulet books. The author is a hopeless romantic, & she’ll easily turn you into one too
What a nice end to the McCabe Brothers Series Awesome story that draws you in slowly and surely then Bam!
A serial womanizer find himself with one woman he can’t seem to control, or easily manipulate
At 1st I found Gage too damn Arrogant & yeah a real Bastard. As the story started to unfold you could see the change in Gage …. You see that that Gage was no longer that Bastard, you could see him starting to wear his heart on his sleeve, now if you notice I didn’t say anything about Gage losing any of his Arrogats
I figured since this was the last book in this series that we might see tiny bit more of Bo & Millie – Caleb & Violet… I felt somewhat disappointed, here
Bonus: for me was the – side story with Josie
There were few parts that were A Lil too predictable for my liking, maybe it’s cuz Bo & Millie were my favorite book of the series … So I debated on my rating of this book, between 3 or 4 stars on this one….
I want you to always remember
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
Also I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it.
Reading order McCabe Brothers Series
1- Hopeless Romantic- Bo & Millie
2- My Hero- Caleb & Violet
3- Arrogant Bastard- Gage & Luna
I really hope that the author decides to do a spin off with the cousins ( Tucker Brothers Band)- Travis, Vaughn, Kade & Roxie
Happy Reading ——Enjoy – Paulette Review
This was a fantastic story. Gage is *vastly* different from Bo and Caleb. My favorite part is when Gage is walking along the waterfront alone. And then, I ugly cried through most of Chapter 9.
Of the three books in this series, Arrogant Player is my favorite. Her characters are mature enough to know their own minds, yet damaged enough to be vulnerable. Gage is learning that money and unlimited sex are not enough, and Luna finds that she can’t hide forever. These two go through some challenging times, but eventually find their HEA. And I loved the side story with Josie, who also gets her HEA. Capulet is a master at writing dialogue that is interesting, relevant to the conversation, and seldom falls into the sappy sweet stuff so often seen in romance novels. The McCabe brothers have some pretty sexy cousins that I’d love to see as perhaps a separate, or subset to this, series.
