GabriellaIt was supposed to be simple—drink tequila, forget about the life I’m running away from and have one wild night. That’s exactly what my next-door neighbor, Aubrey, told me to do.That’s when I met him—the arrogant Aussie. It’s easy to forget a night with a stranger until that stranger is living next door.OliverIf it wasn’t for my horrific motorbike accident, I’d still be playing soccer. … motorbike accident, I’d still be playing soccer. Instead, I’m crashing at my mate Chance’s place with no clue where my life is heading.
I needed an escape while I got my head together.
But it was never supposed to be with her—the girl next door. The rich heiress arranged to be married to some wealthy snob, and I was the arrogant Aussie who didn’t care about anyone but myself.
She couldn’t have been more wrong.
Gabriella Carmichael is a heartbreaker—the worst kind.
And I’m selfish, cocky, and won’t settle for second best.
I have to make her all mine.
There is no other choice.

Blown away!
To say this story fit perfectly into Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard world seamlessly is an understatement!
There is so much I loved about Gabs and Olly! Their connection, individual independence and their struggles to come to terms with their lives as it is and their families (even when I wanted to throw my kindle at the Carmichael’s) This was definitely an emotional roller coaster!
When I read the blurb of the this book, it got me super excited. Who doesn’t love an Aussie (sexy I know) and a girl running away from an arranged marriage? I thought it would be fun and it truly was! I had a good time reading this story. Also I’m adoring all the books with Chance, Aubrey, CJ and Pixy, the fainting goat!
Oliver Madden is this a pro soccer player in Australia who got seriously injured in a motorcycle crash. He heads to America to recover and stay with friends, Chance and Aubrey. Gabriella Carmichael is promised to marry a man she doesn’t love by her family. Seriously does it still exist? Running away from this for a month, she head to California and rent a place next door to Chance and Aubrey.
When Oliver and Gabriella meet one another, they dislike instantly. Their enemies to lovers vibe was super funny and they always loved giving each other a hard time. But as they progressed I enjoy how they tried to help each other to grow, work and overcome their deep issues.
I just wish that Gabriella had grown a back bone early, girl, take the wheels of your life! And as much I liked Oliver, sometimes I felt difficult to relate to him. But all in all, I was surprised with the twist in the end and I liked the ending. This is a story with angst, love, laughs and romance as the couple tried to conquer the world.
This was another good addition to the Cocky Hero Club series.
Oliver and Gabriella are each facing their own issues so you know their story isn’t going to be all smooth sailing. There is some definite tension between them that can’t be denied as well as some hilarious banter. An enjoyable read!!
3. 5 Stars
Another great addition to Cocky Hero Club Novel . Though it took me a while to get into the story even with the very predictable plot but once I got into the story it was a fun read. Gabriella is the neighbor of Chance and Aubrey and Oliver is the Aussie soccer star a friend of Chance is now temporarily living in their spare bedroom after an injury. Their romance was fun and flirty, but not without its problems. I did like Oliver’s character more the Gabriella’s . Overall it was a fun and entertaining read.
3.5 stars
This was a fun, flirty romance. Oliver is a sexy, swoony soccer player who has recently survived an almost fatal accident. Gabriella is an heiress bogged down with family obligations and pressures. She isn’t the typical spoiled heiress. Oliver and Gabriella are both trying to let loose and have an escape. They meet and form a friendship but their attraction is undeniable. A love/hate relationship with witty banter ensues. There is an entertaining push and pull between them. This is not an easy romance but it certainly steams up the pages. This is worth the read.

The Aussie might be arrogant but he had me hooked from the first interaction with Gabriella. They’re both dealing with their own issues an demons and thought what they had would be a one-time thing. But you never get what you expect and it was fun seeing them realize they live right next door to each other. It was fun, flirty, and sexy.
Arrogant Aussie by Kat T. Masen is a part of the Cocky Hero Club Series, but can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. This is the story of Oliver Madden and Gabriella Carmichael. Although both Oliver and Gabriella are very different they both have come to a point in their life where they have a major life changing thing that is happening and both have to take a break to gather their thoughts. For Gabriella she is the pampered women whose is being pushed into a marriage by her family. Oliver is the famous soccer player who had a terrible accident that has left him unable to play anymore. Now he is just taking time to heal and figure out how to go on. Enjoyed their story.
I really enjoyed this return to the CHC world!
Gabriella has a chance encounter with Oliver one night when she tries to let loose She’s shocked to later find out he’s crashing with her next door neighbors Chance and Aubrey.
There are big obstacles for both of them to overcome individually and together. At times their actions can be a bit frustrating, but this was a nice read.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
A great addition to the CHC Books! I loved Oliver, I thought he was the perfect CH and though you don’t expect to find someone like Gabriella clicking with him the two end up being perfect for each other. As always love the moments with Chance and Aubrey and their family and I really love seeing all these different takes on where they are in their lives from all the authors. This book had a fantastic epilogue and even a bonus scene with Pixie. You really can’t go wrong with that!
**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review.**
I loved this book! Kat wrote a great Cocky Hero in Oliver. I loved how he owned is arrogance. Gabriella was easy to connect to and I really liked her. So much! I enjoyed how Kat wrote them. Its was easy to read with enough romance that had my heart thumping. There was a good amount of drama. Gabriella surprised me a few times with decisions she made. I loved the friendships they both had with Chance and Aubrey. Definitely recommend!
Who doesn’t love a boy with accent
Omg this is a page turner. I enjoyed from start to finish. Loved the banter between the two main characters. There is plenty of awe moment, heat and even few tears. Kat know know how suck you in with her characters and leaves lasting impression.
Arrogant Aussie takes us for a visit with a few of our favourites from Cocky Bastard. Oliver and Gabriella’s story is flirty, fun, entertaining but is also filled with drama and angst. The first part of their story had me struggling with a connection to these two, however as I moved into the second half, the emotions and chemistry took hold. An enjoyable addition to this series.
Arrogant Aussie is a great read. I really enjoyed spending time with Gabriella and Oliver plus it is always a pleasure to be back in the company of Chance, Aubrey, CJ and Pixy.
I love Oliver. He has a great personality even if he does show his arrogant side at times. My heart ached for him when I learned why he was in the States and I sincerely hoped that he would be able to get his life back on track and realise his dreams.
For all Gabriella’s upbringing is a galaxy away from my own, I could understand what she was going through and the reasons why she found it so difficult to turn her back on all she has ever known. Making life changing decisions is never easy and I hoped that she would find the strength to stand up for what she wanted.
I loved witnessing Oliver and Gabriella together. Although I did struggle at times to make sense of the connection that they had. I felt their declarations were a little premature bearing in mind some of their encounters but I guess this added to the mystery of ‘will they, won’t they’ as I was never certain if they would find their HEAs together in the end.
I’m absolutely loving the Cocky Hero Club books that are being written and I would certainly recommend that you read Arrogant Aussie which I award 3.5 stars. I loved how the book made me feel whilst reading it, the later scenes being my favourites in all honesty. I certainly hope that this isn’t the last that we see of Gabriella and Oliver.
Arrogant Aussie by Kat T. Masen is an engaging, fun, hot enemies-to-lovers read. This was an awesome installment to the Cocky Hero Club. This is Oliver Madden and Gabriella Carmichael’s story. Oliver is this pro soccer player who survived nearly dying in a motorcycle crash. He heads to America to recover and visit friends. He’s in this weird headspace… he’s depressed, frustrated and unsure what’s going to happen next with his pro career. Suddenly Chance’s next door neighbor gains his attention.
Gabriella is this sassy princess whose been catered to. She’s practically smothered by it. Now she’s engaged to a man she doesn’t love but is expected to marry by her family. She’s currently now staying as a next door neighbor to Oliver while she’s taking a much needed break from her family and that “fiancé “. Oliver and Gabriella have sparks flying between them from the moment they first meet. The story is such classic Kat T. Masen- drama, laughs, angst, friendship, passion , feels, and love.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *********
Amazing Kat Matson story! Oliver and Gabriella seem to be both at a huge turning point in life, and i think they met at the perfect time! Exactly when they needed eachother. I really enjoyed this read had everything i want and everything to keep me reading.
Gabriella has been granted 1 month away from her life in order to get herself together so she can go home to marry the man her Dad has chosen. Oliver had a horrible motorcycle accident and is seeking medical opinions in the US for his shoulder. He isn’t looking for anything that will take his focus away from playing soccer again. She doesn’t want her life planned out for her but can she walk away from it all?
I am new to Kat T Masen but what a great first read. I am loving the books that have Chance and Aubrey make appearances. Olly is fun and loves to tease Gabriella but he also makes her realize she might want more out of life. Gabriella is scared of walking away from her family’s money which initially seemed kind of shallow but in the end you realize just how they are to her. Love that Olly gives her the strength to live her life. Another great addition to the Cocky Hero Club World.
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
This was such an amazing addition to the Cocky Hero Club world. I really loved seeing Chance, Aubrey, and Pixy again. I really loved that they played such a big part in the story.
I haven’t read this author before now but she is definitely on my radar now. I fell in love with her storytelling immediately. The story had such an easy flow and I felt so at home with the narration. I liked that there were twists in the story that I didn’t see coming. The book certainly kept me addicted to the pages.
Gabriella and Oliver were such great characters. I felt an instant connection with both of them. They were both likable and relatable. I liked how they both had so much depth. I loved watching their character growth throughout the story. The secondary characters were such a delight in this book. They really added a lot of depth to the story.
I liked how the romance in this book didn’t exactly play out the way the reader expects. I really loved the journey. Gabriella and Oliver had electric chemistry that played out beautifully within the pages. They had excellent banter and the flirting was exciting and fun. I loved the way their love story played out.
Overall, this was such a fun and entertaining story that had me captivated. It has a compelling storyline, memorable characters, and a romance that you can’t help but root for. I am loving the Cocky Hero Club books and I can’t wait for the next one!
Another book in the cocky hero series… this one by Kat Masen
Oliver Madden definitely lives up to his Arrogant Aussie title.
He is a soccer player who has lived for his sport… that is until he has a near fatal motorbike accident. Whilst recovering he decides to move in with his friends Chance and Aubrey (Cocky Bastard) in America.
Gabriella Carmichael is the pampered privileged princess who is engaged to a man she doesn’t love, but is doing what is expected for the family. She moves in next door whilst on a ‘break’ from her life and fiancé at the time.
Oliver and Gabriella clash from the moment they meet… but this is definitely a love/hate relationship.
The banter between the two is amazing and done in true Kat Masen style.
Both have a lot of decisions to make that will invariably affect their future.
Can they make the right one and will love win out in the end?
I loved the twists towards the end of th book, and the characters are hot together.
Took a while to get into the swing of the book but once I did I was captured till the end.
Great read.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
I loved everything about “Arrogant Aussie.” Kat T. Masen was a new author to me and she did an excellent job weaving the romance of Gabriella and Oliver with fan favorites Chance and Aubrey, from “Cocky Bastard.” It felt as if the two couples had known each other forever, and their friendship brought happiness and joy to me at a time when I needed it the most.
I felt so bad for Gabriella because she had been “promised” to a man that her father had chosen for her. How ridiculous was that? Her escape to the west coast was just what she needed to clear her mind. Gabriella was so happy in California and I could practically hear the wistfulness in her voice as she gazed at the beautiful beach, the calming ocean and the sunny, blue sky. She had become close friends with Chance and Aubrey and she loved their son CJ, and of course, Pixy, the fainting goat. Chance and Aubrey are a fun-loving couple who opened their hearts and home to Gabriella and Oliver. This was the perfect setting for the storybook romance of a sexy soccer player and the runaway heiress. The witty banter between Gabriella and Oliver was hilarious and they loved giving each a hard time. They helped each other let go of their pasts so they could plan for the future. Their journey to love and happiness made me laugh, smile and believe that fairy tales do come true.
I was so excited when i realised that this story included Chance and Aubrey i had only just read their story by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward so when i realised Gabriella was staying next door to Chance and Aubrey it was awesome.
This story had it all the angst, the forbidden love and really just finding yourself for both Oliver and Gabriella and had me reading to fast but i needed to know how this ended.
Oliver was suffering with his injuries and Gabriella was loving a life she didn’t want to, i loved their connection and chemistry but i also loved their banter, this was a bit of an enemies to friends love story and there comments too each other made me laugh.
This book was emotional as well as there were aspects i didn’t expect and hit me in the feels, i loved both characters and of course Pixy had to make an appearance and god he makes me laugh. It was so good to read about how Aubrey and chance we’re going and to get a bit of a homegrown story that was partly in Australia.
Loved loved this and Kat t Masen did a fantastic job with this story
