After arriving at her parents’ home Sam and Mathew find the house empty. Her parents and her boys are gone and have no idea where they are or what to do.
But they have been hearing this guy on the radio giving out information about what is going on and about the zombies ever since the world started getting sick and changing. On the radio Steve tells everyone to go to their local high school as the military has set up safe places for people to go.
When they finally reach the high school they learn that they are too late as their family is no longer there. The school was overrun by zombies and everyone was moved to another safe place in Maryland.
Sam, Mathew and Kat decide to get some rest at the school before heading out to Maryland. They also need to restock their supplies before heading out. Just when they thought they were safe they learn that there may not be a safe place anywhere as zombies are running amok in the school and they lose some of their friends in the chaos that takes place.
As Sam and Mathew make their way across the country to Maryland they have to be more conning and swift now as the zombies are getting smarter and smarter.
A World Apart picks up right where the first book A Vacation From Hell left off with Mathew and Sam looking for their boys. A World Apart takes up deep into zombie land where the zombies are faster, smarter and more conning their selves setting traps and ambushing the people. A World Apart has just as much action and zombie killing if not more than A Vacation From Hell. Oh no there are zombies everywhere.
A World Apart is a short faced paced read that is packed with lots of information and world building with lots and lots of zombie killing. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t I read the whole thing in one sitting at the doctor’s office. I never wanted it to end but when it did I wasn’t to upset as I had the next book Till Death Do Us Part ready and waiting for me.
I would highly recommend A World Apart to all zombie fans and anyone who likes The Walking Dead and zombies…..
The continuing story of Angie and her friends is fantastic. Angie has lots of hard decision to make and there not easy. The aliens are changing and no for the good. The earth is almost dead along with the human race. Can’t wait for the next book.
It would be even better if the entire group realized that safety and keeping our country (and planet) safe is all of our responsibilities. I am a 20-year retired airman (or air-woman) and I don’t understand today’s attitude that the nation’s defense is someone else’s responsibility. So this group left us with more story left to tell though, the end was sufficient to satisfy this story, I definitely want more from this author on this story. I do hope the girls (who are women) in this story realize that we don’t stay home in safety anymore. As a military member myself and a spouse of a military member (together 30 years), I can tell you that staying home is much more difficult than going. But I regress again! I very much enjoyed this story and hope for more of Angela and her group.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
