If you were to pass me on the street, you probably wouldn’t even look twice. I’m that normal. I’m just like you, only wealthier. I have it all. The kids, the family, the dog, a house on the hill. Hell—I’m so cliché, I even have a white picket fence. I guess you could say that I’ve dotted my I’s and crossed my T’s. But what I also have—what no one sees in yoga, or at Nieman Marcus, or during the … the dreadful Ladies Who Lunch charity events I attend (because only God knows why), and perhaps most importantly, in the school pick up line—are secrets.
Deep, dark, deadly secrets.
We all keep secrets, don’t we? We all have thoughts in our heads, things we do, things about us that if people knew, they’d be shocked…right? Well, what if one day we just decided to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
What if we decided to let the whole world in on our dirty little secrets? And what if along the way, as we were spilling those secrets, we realized that things aren’t always what they seem and with that knowledge, it changed the whole story?
In this book, I’m laying it all out there. The unraveling of my life. My coming undone. What one might’ve seen had they been paying attention.
What I’ve found in life is people often believe lies before they’ll believe the truth. Well, here it is, in a nutshell. I’ll let you decide which is which.

Really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting it down.
Loved the book. Cried. Sorry it ended this way
Around The Bend by Author Britney King is an astounding read. It is full of trials and tribulations for main character Jess, who had it all, then seemingly lost it all, but then a very special man came into her life who showed her a new moral compass to use to guide her life by, and it was based on the one true setting for any life, which was how to really LOVE. No spoilers. Around the Bend is a very worthwhile read with many social redeeming values, that sends a message to readers on how to never give up, and to set their moral compass on the PURE LOVE setting. Author Britney King hit it out of the ball park with Around the Bend, and I urge you to read Around the Bend. It is truly a beautifully written and life altering event read, and it goes without saying, that it was written by a very accomplished Author, Britney King…but I will say it anyway. A true accomplished Author is Britney King. Feast your reading eyes!!
Enjoyed this books very much
Held my interest, good story!
Wow
Great characters and a wonderful read.
I did not like the ending!!!
Not a fan of this book. I did not like the story line, or the characters. I had shared it with my sister, and then told her not to get it after I read it.
I learned a lot about the difficulty of withdrawing from addiction.
Britney King is one of my very favorite authors- her books aren’t for everyone, which is why they appeal to me so much! She is guaranteed to be offbeat and o-so-twisted!!
Great book. All the twists and turns were right on..
Thank goodness this book was free because if I would have paid for that rubbish, I would have been pissed. It is poorly written, with some serious ASSHOLES as main characters. Why should I care about these people when they are horrible garbage people? Jess is a stuck up, rich, pathetic douche and Myles is a poor, “mysterious” douche. So I ask again, why should I care what happens to these two tepid sacks of crap? This HARDLY is a suspenseful story and certainly isn’t even comparable to “The Girl on the Train,” and the fact that the author even tries to in her description is really laughable and pretty pretentious of her. It’s a one-note forced romance (and not even a good one at that) that tries to be more interesting than it really is. If you like romance books (I won’t DARE call this a novel, like the author tried) featuring rich spoiled trash people then this would be a good read for you. On a final note, I read previous reviews about this book where people have said they needed tissues by the end, and I’m not quite sure why anyone would need tissues while reading this book unless they actually paid for it and were brought to tears by the waste of money!
great book
This book just may not have been for me. I see lots of great reviews, but I thought it was one of the strangest stories I’ve ever read. I found myself skimming through a lot of it, hoping it would get better.
This was a book that I enjoyed so much I did not want it to end.
I liked this book. It had a certain air of mystery, however the ending contains a bit of a surprise. Give it a try!
A fantastic book. It made me happy, made me sad, made me breathless, and kept me coming back for more. I definitely want to read more from this author.
Well written, hard to put down. Wish I had a friend like the male character.
Very slow, too slow for me.
