Loved this book!
This is the first book I have read by Donna Michaels and I was taken by surprise by this 4.5-Star well developed, exciting, fun storyline. Emma decides that she needs to employ drastic measures for the doctor, her long time crush, to take notice & ask her out. She decides what will work best is for the doctor to think someone else is interested in her and she feels the best man for the job is her neighbors brother. Vince is retired military and there is no way they could have more than a fake relationship because Emma has swore off military men. But what neither Emma or Vince expected was the hot & steamy, instantaneous chemistry, the spark of heat, they both felt when they were pretending. As they learn more about each while spending time together in their fake relationship could something else be developing between them after all. Emma realizes the doctors indifference to her and Vince as Vince begins to question is Emma could fall for a military man. Betwwen their hot & sexy encounters and the humorous witty banter this well written fake romance Army Ranger with Benefits is certainly worth one-clicking. Definitely recommend adding this sweet yet sexy, fun read to your Kindle library!
I am voluntarily leaving this voluntary review, but for full disclosure I did receive an review copy, ARC, of this book.
Army Ranger With Benefits is a phenomenal contemporary romance by Donna Michaels. Ms. Michaels has once again delivered a well-written book and filled it with a fun cast of characters. Former Army Ranger Vince goes to help his brother after he was injured. Emma lives next door to Vince’s brother and they agree to a fake relationship to make the man Emma has crushed on forever jealous. Vince and Emma’s story is packed with drama, humor, smokin’ hot sex and is a fun read. I loved it from cover to cover. Army Ranger With Benefits is book 4 of The Men of At-Ease Ranch but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I read a print copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy novel The Men At- Ease Ranch Series book 4 : Army Ranger with Benefits by Donna Michaels and this review was given freely.
Vincent flies to Georgia to care for his injured brother, Captain Dominic Acardi, but what he gains is the love of the medical transcriptionist Emma in this neighbors, fake romance turn real romance. After having had 3 failed military based relationships, Emma uses Vincent to make her high school crush Doctor Stephan Greenwald jealous. A chance meeting, coincidence, humor in the continued story of Lula Belle, the strong family ties portrayed throughout this book and of course a happy ending make this a well written, enjoyable and balanced book.
A standalone read with a HEA. This is part of a series but can be read without feeling lost. The setting is the At-Ease ranch in Texas. A group of vets got together to buy the ranch and set it up for vets that need help. Some are suffering from PTSD, wounds emotional and physical, etc. The guys also own a construction company that is used to give the guys a job as well as income that supports the ranch. Vince is one of the owners. He receives word his brother has been injured and is in the hospital in Ga. He goes to help him and to be there for him.
He finds his brother recovering but needing help at home and being driven to rehab. He meets Dom’s next door neighbor Emma. She watches his house for him while he is on missions. Vince agrees to help her with a problem she has. She is a smart, beautiful woman and he doesn’t have any problem pretending to be her love interest.
This is a good romance, has a lot of humorous scenes, is steamy and a fun, entertaining read. I really enjoyed the story and I definitely recommend it. The guys at this ranch all make for very good stories. The cow adds a lot of humor.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/3/18
Story was believable, characters expressed understanding of those with issues
easy read with great characters and a plot that is both funny and provocative.
most enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book. I really like the series, but each story is unique. This one was fun to read and it was a quick read.
Emma has sworn off military men for personal relationships, but she is friends with one (Dom) who lives next door. She watches his home when he is deployed. When Dom is hurt and has to return home to recuperate his brother (Vince) comes from Texas to help him. Vince is an ex-military man. Emma thinks he is an intruder when she finds Vince inside her neighbor’s home. Add to this that Emma is attracted to a doctor who she wants to date, and the doctor does not seem to know she exists on that level. When Dom suggests that Vince fake date Emma the fun begins.
This is a wonderfully entertaining book that is filled with humor and emotion. I was pulled into the story right from the start. It made me laugh, and it pulled at my emotions. The story is well-written and moves at a very good pace. The characters are interesting and very likable and realistic. Love me some strong military guys who are good-hearted! It’s got some really good steamy sex in it too! WINNER!!! : ) I’ll be reading more from this author.
How much I love former army ranger Vince Acardi, oh let me count the ways…
I have adored this series from the first book, and I have been hoping for Vince to get his own HEA because he won my heart over at ‘hello’, and in Army Ranger With Benefits, he proves to be even more than I could have dreamed of.
The reasons why this series had the fast track to my heart are many. The banter and humor are just in my ally, the characters are charming, the bond between the brothers in arms is tight, there is nothing they wouldn’t do for each other, the way they care and look after each other is admirable. And while the stories make me smile and even laugh out loud, not to mention swoon and sigh, they always go deeper than the surface. The deep emotions, the feelings, the PTSD some of the veterans are suffering from, the adjustment to the civilian life that can be so hard, the previous heartbreaks, they are always part of the tale, not ignored but respected, and not dwelled on, but focused on the recovery, for the hope of better days to come.
Vince and Emma Roberts are perfect for each other. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot, the connection, even their hobbies, likes, and interests, they are in tune, they get each other.
Emma is a fierce, strong female lead. The fact that she has been friends with Vince’s brother Don, and can verbally put him in his place was hilarious. Winning over her childhood crush might bring on the fake dates with Vince, but they do not stay fake for a long time. The attraction between Emma and Vince is true, believable, hot, and delightful. There is no ‘third-person drama’ feels at all in the tale.
Vince is loyal, kind, considerate man who takes care of those around him. He loves to cook, bake, fish, and his brothers. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. And when Vince needs the support they all are there for him. I have been interested in Vince’s character since the first book came out, he stands out even in the group of rangers. And now I am enamored with him, he is just a perfectly fine man, easy to love and care for — I have finally found a book-boyfriend. *swoon*
If you enjoy reading romance stories with humor, heat, and heart, with emotions that dig deep yet are not angsty, with relationships that are lasting and true, with loyal friends who always have your six, you are going to love this series. Yes, Army Ranger With Benefits is a stand-alone novel – but why miss on all the fun?!
~ Five Spoons!
I stumbled across this book by accident and couldn’t help but one click it straight away as the cover and the synopsis drew me in. Vince and Emma’s story was everything you want in a romance book, it was fun, light hearted, flirty and enough heat to keep you warm on the coldest of nights. Their story at times had me anxious and feeling the heartache that these two were suffering at not only their own hands but from their pasts clouding their judgement and decisions. This was not only my first Donna Michaels book but the first book in The Men of At Ease Ranch series that I delved into. Army Ranger With Benefits has me coming back for more of this author and this series. If you like your men talented in the kitchen and with a huge touch of alpha from being a military man then this is a must read for you.
I absolutely love this series!!! I’m so glad we finally got to read about Vince’s happily ever after. Vince gets the call that no brother or family member would want to get when someone they love is in the service. His brother has been hurt and Vince hopes on an plane to help him recuperate. There he meets his brother’s neighbor and things start to get interesting.
I just have to say I loved the second time Emma and Vince meet. It is in his brothers kitchen. I think in that split second scene it sums up Emma’s character. I really enjoyed watching these two circle each other.
My only complaint about the book was the whole reason they were fake dating was because of Emma interest in a doctor. I would have liked to understand what she saw in him and why she was going to all this trouble when Vince was right in front of her.
I have been waiting for Vince’s book ever since I met him in the first book in the series, In an Army Ranger’s Arms. There is just something about Vince that drew me to him, could it be his charismatic personality? Possibly. Could it be his cooking skills? Possibly, I mean seriously who doesn’t like a man that can cook something other than frozen pizza. Or, Could it be the way he cares for those whom he loves? ABSOLUTELY! I find it terribly sexy when man goes above and beyond what an other friend would do. The fact that he, along with some of his other Army Ranger Brothers, opened At Ease Ranch in order to help Veterans that are having problems adjusting back to civilian life after leaving the Armed Forces really speaks to his character.
Right off the bat I knew I liked Vince, after seeing him in action in the first three books it’s kind of hard not to like him, the real question was going to be if I Emma and if I felt that the chemistry worked or not and if I enjoyed the story line, Thankfully I loved all of it. I must admit that I was a little afraid going into this book for the sheer fact that I absolutely loved him previously and I had to hope this story did him justice but honestly I don’t know why I felt the little bit of trepidation I did because there hasn’t been a book that Donna Michael’s has written that I have enjoyed.
Emma is lusting after a fellow co-worker since they were in high school together but for whatever reason, dating other people, distance, etc., they never got together. Now they are in the same place and neither are dating so she has given him until a certain day to ask her out, if he doesn’t well then she was going to cut her losses and move on. But her BFF thinks he may need a bit of motivation so she convinces Emma to act like she is interested in someone else….in walk Vince. The way these two met was pretty comical and had me laughing out loud.
This has been a great addition to the series, while they can be read as a standalone, I would highly suggest reading the books in order that way you can follow the growth of each of the men and watch them fall for the women that steal their hearts.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
“Army Ranger with Benefits” (The Men of at Ease Ranch Book 4) by Donna Michaels is a fantastic read. I loved Vince and Emma’s story. This story is a wonderful addition to the series, packed with romance, passion, humor, hot military guys, family, close friends, veterans, entertaining characters, second chances, and more. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next with all of these wonderful characters. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, military, and series.
3.5 stars out of 5 stars. This is not my first Donna Michaels book, but the first one from this series. I was provided enough information within the story to get the gist of the previous books, and was able to enjoy the book by itself.
When former Army Ranger Vince Acardi’s brother got injured, he dropped everything to help his younger sibling get better. He met Emma Roberts, his brother’s attractive neighbor, and both felt the instant chemistry with each other. However, Emma had her sights set on a childhood crush, and Vince ends up agreeing to be Emma’s fake boyfriend.
I enjoyed the story, especially the cast of characters that supported the main couple. Vince’s brother and Emma’s best friend were my fave characters, providing funny moments throughout the story. Even with the hot, intimate scenes, the couple has their flaws. Basically, I wanted more intimate conversations between the couple about some hang-ups they have from their past. Lastly, the childhood crush needs his own story; he deserves more screen time.
Overall, it was a nice book. I would definitely read more Donna Michaels books in the future.
***My copy’s provided by the author for an honest review.***
Gotta say I love the premises of the series. A retired Ranger team sets up a ranch in Texas for returning vets to go and survive. They have a construction company that is run by vets, employing vets. I love the ranch and the people that run it, and yet this story takes place in Georgia.
Vince leaves the kitchen of Ease Ranch and heads to Georgia. He needs to care for his brother. Dom is stateside recovering from a mission gone bad in Iraq. If he doesn’t go, Dom will not do as the doctor orders.
Emma is on a mission to get her man, Doctor Stephan Greenwald. She crashes into the solution to her problem when she bumps into Vince. She bumps into him again when she thinks he is breaking into her neighbors home, a neighbor that is on a mission overseas.
Let the scheming begin. Emma is going to use a fake boyfriend to get a real boyfriend. What could ever go wrong? I loved reading this journey to true love. So much denial. So much heat. So much scheming. The whole fake relationship gets even more interesting thanks to the good attentions of others. And even more to an already great story was so many great laughs.
Love is blind. Love is clueless. Love is unforgiving. And when reality sets in the Ranger runs. The gal gets her guy. Or does she?
A Really Fun Romance!! I loved Vince and Emma’s story! It was sexy, fun and lighthearted! Vince is a Army Ranger with a big heart and Emma is a woman who is straight forward and also misguided when it comes to her long time crush. I really loved the lightheartedness of the romance and the sometimes comical situations that made me laugh out loud. This romance story will put a smile on your face all the way through!!
I have read the previous three books in this series, and I have to say, this one is one of my favorite stories .
The series centers around the men and women who have made The Ease Ranch their home. A ranch as well as construction company in Texas made up of military men and women who have gone through the devastations of war, injured physically and mentally. All honorable and willing to give each other a hand and a new reason for living.
This story belongs to Vince Acardi, whom we have met in previous books. A kindhearted former Army Ranger, cook and construction manager of the group. When his brother Dom , an active Ranger returns from a mission injured , Vince leaves Texas for Georgia, to help him recover. There he meets Emma Roberts , Dom’s neighbor. A woman who might change his life.
From the start you will fall in love with VInce, Dom and Emma. At times you will literally laugh out loud , but also feel their pain due to past hurts and losses. Heartbreaking, but also heartwarming.
Will the fake boyfriend scheme to help Emma catch the eye of her HS crutch become more serious? And if it does, will Emma and Vince part ways when Vince leaves?
Definitely a story with an engaging plot, complex characters and a reminder that sometimes what we wish is not always what will be the best for us.
Kudos to the author for another great story.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley and Entangled/Lovestruck Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
**I received a copy of Army Ranger with Benefits from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
Army Ranger with Benefits by Donna Michaels is book 4 in her The Men At-Ease Ranch series. I have read all but one in the series and highly recommended them to read but they can also be read as a standalone book also. This is Vince and Emma’s story and I give the book at 4.8 stars.
Vince received the dreaded call that his brother, Dominic has been admitted the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. So even though Stone and Jovy’s wedding is fast approaching for which he’s the caterer for their reception. He heads to Atlanta and hopes that he’ll be home in time for the wedding. But even though his brother is a active duty Army Ranger his injuries are serious enough to sideline him and make Dominic very grumpy. When Vince meets Dom’s neighbor Emma who’s not only gorgeous but willing to take on Vince at a moments notice. Then Dom volunteers his brother to help Emma make Dr.Stephan Greenwald make jealous but little does he know that they’ll soon be interested in each other not Dr. Stephan. The doctor visit that Vince goes to is hilarious and ask brothers often do payback can be in the form of a girl that Dominic has been avoiding for quite awhile.
Emma Roberts has set a goal to see if Stephan will ask her out and her six months is almost up. When she meets Vince and they start dating they play dating suddenly she realizes that Stephan isn’t who she wanted any longer. But when Vince starts to fall in love with her and then disappears its her heart that will break into tiny pieces. Will Emma stay in Columbus or will she find out if Vince loves her like she does?
Hopefully Leo will be the next book as the majority of Men At Ease have now found their soul mates just like Vince and Emma did and I can’t wait for the next book.
