Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Nick Houston is as tough as they come, and he and his K-9, Saxon, are hot on the trail of a major illegal gun dealer. But his best lead—the beautiful owner of the Dog Park Café, Andi Hardt––is not cooperating. Doesn’t matter how sexy she is, or that his dog seems to be in love with her. She’s a suspect and he won’t cross that line. Ever.Andi Hardt sank everything … everything into her dream business—the Dog Park Café, a restaurant catering to dogs as much as people. Now everything is in jeopardy because of one extremely frustrating, incredibly hot state trooper. Like it or not, she’s in Nick’s crosshairs, and he’s calling the shots. Her only option: cooperate, or lose everything she’s worked so hard for.
Nick and Andi are catapulted straight into the danger zone, forcing them to make life-altering choices, and face their desires. Risking his life for Andi is the easy part. Risking his heart is the toughest assignment Nick will face.
Each book in the Federal K-9 series is STANDALONE:

The second book in the Federal K-9 series is an exciting and passionate read that catapults readers right into the danger alongside the strong, captivating characters. Nick and Andi has some deliciously sizzling chemistry that readers can practically feel flowing from the pages as the characters send sparks flying in every direction every time they come into contact whether in passion or heated clashes. Andi just wants to keep her dream alive but Nick Houston is determined to bring down an illegal gun dealer down and Andi is his best lead which sets this couple on an emotional roller coaster full of romance, passion, the angst of making life altering choices and facing their desires.
Readers can’t help but become completely enthralled with the story as the fast pace and thrilling suspense keeps readers hanging on to every word throughout Nick’s toughest assignment he’s had to face during his career. This story also has some delightful and charming interactions between the canines of the story further entertaining readers and the author does a great job of making her story convincing and lifelike so readers can easily imagine each and every scene as it happens during this spirited, entertaining and absorbing romance.
An excellent romantic suspense! I loved this book from start to finish—as evidenced by the fact I read it in one-sitting. It was fast-paced, action-packed and deeply engaging, with characters who were flawed but likable and a storyline that kept me on the (metaphorical) edge-of my seat. Plus, DOGS. Gah, Stray and Saxon were scene-stealers in the best way.
If you’re looking for realistic, heart-racing romance, then look no further than Tee O’Fallon and Armed ‘N’ Ready.
This is a fast-paced, suspenseful read. It pulls you in from the first page and keeps your attention until the last. The intriguing storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat and the adorable K-9’s will win your heart. This is a great addition to the series and I would recommend it.
Federal K-9 #2, Missed the first book, but that’s okay because this is fine as a standalone. This was a great read, with O’Fallon being in law enforcement herself it came off as very realistic. Nick and Andi try as they might to stay professional and not get involved with each other in the middle of a case. A case where Andi Hardt is suspected of being involved in a money laundering and black market gun distribution. Andi will do whatever it takes to clear her name and unfreeze her bank accounts even if that means pretending to hire the annoyingly sexy Nick Houston as her new bartender.
Mass. State Police Sgt. Nick Houston and his K-9, Saxon, are working in junction with the AFT, IRS, and the FBI to try and track down and stop a black market guns dealer so far they have found the accountant who helps with the money laundering. Unfortunately it’s Andi’s ex-boyfriend who is still a friend and Andi was staying at his house when they executed the warrant. Nick figures that the guy still has some attachment to Andi so he pitches the idea to stay close to her incase the ex calls her everyone likes the idea so Nick goes to work for her at the Dog Park Cafe.
It took something major to get Andi out of the financial world but when she was betrayed by a person who claimed to love her she found a new love in a dog friendly restaurant, it took all the money she had to open it up and now because of yet another betrayal she might lose this too. Andi can’t open her heart again not even to the too sexy for his own good Nick. Nick has been so career oriented since his wife died five years ago he was taken by surprise by how much he likes Andi and by how right it feels being with her. But no matter how much he likes her the job must come first.
Overall, I really liked this book. I loved the characters and the dogs. It’s a bit of a slow burn because the try to keep their hands off of each other because of the case, heck for a portion of the book Andi does not like Nick because of what they are doing but her attraction to him wins out the more she gets to know him. Nick is more than what he seems and Andi is a headstrong woman and both have pasts that have molded them into who they are now and keep them hesitant from jumping in to quickly.
Another winner for Ms. O’Fallon in the Federal K-9 series. Andi Hardt, owner of the Dog Park Café, is washing her dog when police break in to the house where she is staying. Her friend, Joe, is out of town and offered her the use of his home due to plumbing issues in her home. Sgt. Nick Houston with the Massachusetts State Police and his K-9 Saxon confront her with a search warrant for the house. They are accusing Joe of laundering money for illegal gun dealers. Is she is involved in his crimes? Andi swears that she knows nothing about Joe’s criminal activity. As Nick becomes more involved with Andi, he realizes that she is innocent and her life has been turned upside down. Her assets were frozen and she is worried that she may lose her business if she can’t pay her bills. Andi feels a strong attraction for Nick, but has made bad choices in the past. With Joe on the run, she becomes the target of the criminals that want to use her to get to Joe. As the action intensifies, Nick and Andi cross the line and become intimate in one of the most sensual love scenes that I have read. So many secondary characters return from the first book and I just love it when there is an update and a chance to guess whose story will be next. Kudos to Ms. O’Fallon for giving the reader everything you could ask for in this sequel to Lock n’ Load. Loved it! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
This is book 2 in the Federal K-9 series and can absolutely be read as a stand alone! I hadn’t read book 1 before reading this one and understood everything happened in it with no problems. Sgt. Nick Houston meets Andi Hardt when he is part of a team that serves a search warrant on the house of her friend. He is trying to help take down a gun trafficker but he doesn’t feel like she is helping or cooperating with the investigation like they need her to do. Andi is just trying to keep her dream going and now everything is in jeopardy because of the police and what they think she is a part of. She doesn’t feel like they care if she is innocent or not, they are just there to use her. And without any other options, she has to cooperate or lose everything she has ever dreamed of having.
This is the first book I have read by Tee O’Fallon and it definitely won’t be my last! I loved this book! Nick has been through a lot in his life and has tried to close himself off from everyone but his close friends. And I don’t blame him once you learn what happened. But his choices not only hurt someone else, they almost lose what could be the best thing to ever happen to him. Andi has been used by men she should have been able to trust in the past and has tried to just stay out of relationships. She doesn’t think she has good instincts about men and is just trying to protect herself. But she lets Nick in. I love them together, they have great chemistry. And once they actually work through their problems together and understand each other’s motivations and needs? It is great! There is tons of action and there are things that you never even see coming! Plus great side characters that just leave you wanting to see more! I really want a story about his friend Eric! I hope he is next!!
This second book in the Federal K=9 series is a fantastic, fast paced story with sexy cop Nick and his K=9 partner Saxon at the center. Nick and Saxon are hot on the trail of an illegal gun trader and they don’t have time to deal with the uncooperative owner of the Dog Park Cafe. Andi Hart won’t risk her new business for anyone or anything. Not even the very sexy officer Nick Houston. Problem is he holds all the cards and ultimately she has to help him with his investigation. Now they are thick in things and there is danger at every turn. Andi has to let her guard down and rely on Nick to keep her safe. Will he end up being her biggest mistake?
I highly recommend this one.
Armed n ready is the second book by Tee O’Fallon in the Federal K-9 series. Armed N Ready is the story of Nick, first introduced in Lock n Load, his K-9 Saxon, and Andi Hardt. Armed N Ready is a well-written story that grabs you from the first chapter and keeps you engaged until the end.
Armed ‘N’ Ready is a sweet romantic suspense that will have you flipping pages just to see what happens next. Neither K9 Police Sgt. Nick Houston nor Café owner Andi Hardt are looking for love but love has other ideas. I really enjoyed this story. I read it in one sitting to the exclusion of everything else. Though this is part of a series it can be read stand alone.
A riveting story. The author tells a genuine and credible story of what happens in a law enforcement investigation. The details are spectacular. Nick and Andie meet in a hilarious scene that sets the stage for the rest of the book. She is feisty and takes on the hard-nosed Nick from the onset. She is able to break through his tough exterior one layer at a time as they work more closely together. Through the suspense and the drama is they find out that what truly matters at the end of the day is loving like it is your last day.
Welcome addition to the Federal K-9 series. Nick and Andi hooked me from the start. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Saxton and Stray were the perfect sidekicks. Can’t wait for next book in series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
Andi Hardt loves what she does, finally, leaving the rat race business world after a huge violation of trust she started her own business. The Dog Park Café, a restaurant and dog park all in one and fills her days with joy. She is currently staying at her ex-boyfriends house while the pipes in her house are being fixed, while she is washing her stray dog in the shower early one morning her life is totally upended.
Sergeant Nick Houston is trying not to pay attention to the woman in the teeny tiny bikini in the shower washing her dog. All he wanted to do was serve a warrant and get illegal guns off the street. His K9 Saxon is standing guard right along side him as always and seems to be wondering what is going on as well. This woman and her dog are in shock, but for only a minute though then she starts throwing things at him. Can she really be a partner in all this illegal activity?
Andi and Nick have to work together to find out what exactly is going on with her ex and to clear her name. She agrees to have Nick work at the club as a bartender and shadow her every move to draw out Joe and get some answers. Neither of them counted on the attraction they share moving front and center. Will that attraction be enough to let them throw caution to the wind and be together?
I received an advance copy without expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own. My first read from this author with 4 ½ stars, it won’t be my last by any means.
Nick Houston is the next K9 handler in line for an unconventional romance!
Nick is part of a task force looking into the financial convolutions of an associate of Andi Hardt, He and the task force give Andi a bit of scare when they carry out a search of her Ex’s home whilst she is only in a very small bikini! Saxon is a very good K9 partner and ndi and her dog has coralled efficiently.
But as the story progresses it becomes clear that Andi is innocent but she is still tangled up in the miss and she is soon a target. But can Nick separate his feelings for Andi from his duties to the Taskforce?
Andi’s business is perfect for her new lifestyle! I would love to be there – dogs, good food, great staff – what else do you need?!
The plot was fast paced and the action takes place over a short period of time. But the storyline is well crafted and timed and the characters are really relatable. Saxon and Stray are adorable and I loved meeting them. I cannot wait to see what happens between a certain K9 handler/Agent and Andi’s very capable (but nervous around LEO’s) Manager! Seeing the original couple from book 1 was also great as it ties the stories together.
My only complaint was that the baddie had to be connected to Scotland! Why are we always the baddie???? Lol
I’m really intrigued by this series and I am completely hooked to these K9 based stories!
Armed `n’ Ready is a fabulous second book in Tee O’Fallon’s Federal K-9 series and sure to have readers clamouring for more!
Packed with action, suspense, K-9’s you can’t help but adore, and the added bonus of some off the charts passion; what more could a reader want? The author writes realistic characters that have imperfections and emotional scars which form their cautious and guarded view on relationships. She also ensures that the plot is easy to follow, has a believable timeline and all the elements of a great story.
Ms O’Fallon has now landed on my ‘Must Read’ list with this powerful and engaging series, and I can’t wait to see what she delivers next!
Book two in this series, is another well written story that grabs your attention from the first page till the last.
Nick Houston, is a K-9 Sergeant with the Massachusetts State Police. Andy Hardt, is the owner of the Dog Park Cafe. They meet when he has a warrant to search the home of her ex- boyfriend and finds her washing her dog in the master bathroom. He doesn’t trust her to not be involved in the illegal money laundering her ex is doing. But, much to his dismay, the attraction is there, but so is the distrust and dislike.
This is an action packed story with bad guys, husky good ones, suspense and romance. But it’s also a story about how past experiences sometimes hampering the possibilities of getting a second chance of finding happiness.
I am looking forward to another story in this series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
**I received a copy of Armed N’ Ready from St. Martin’s Press and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions expressed are mine and solicited in any way**
Armed N’ Ready by Tee O’Fallon is the second book in her Federal K9 series. Since I’m a big fan of the authors books I was excited at a chance to read this new book. I truly enjoyed the story and give it 4.9 stars , especially Saxon Nick’s K9 partner and Stray who’s the dog Andi adopted.
Andi has just opened Dog Park Cafe or DPC which is a mix of a dog and human cafe after she was betrayed by her bosses and boyfriend in NYC. She’s mixed both good food and a pet friendly place for everyone to enjoy but when the Feds and State Police break into her friends home with a warrant she could lose everything. Could her friend be a fun runner and money laundering for the mob? Why involve her ? Can she prove to Nick that she had nothing to do with Joe’s business?
Nick Houston wants to catch the illegal arms dealer so that no other person has to be told that their relative has died. But he’s got a gut feeling that Andi is somehow involved in her former boyfriends business, now if he can just forget what she looked like in her wet bikini (I loved that scene with his new addition on his gun!) Soon he’s helping her out in the cafe and thanks to his friends she knows his hidden talent for entertainment. Can he fall in love again after losing his wife? Will someone they know be behind the entire gun running and money laundering?
Book 2 in the Federal K-9 series had me hooked from the very first page, the story is funny, cute and full of action, and it has two adorable dogs in, a hot as hell Cop and a kiss a$$ heroine. The story centres around Andi Hardt who has unknowingly gotten herself involved in a money laundering scam, and is now being investigated by non other than Sgt Nick Houston. We follow Nick and his team as they race against the clock to bring in the bad guy and save the girl. Perfect writing, amazing characters (dogs too), and a gripping story. I’m loving this Federal K-9 series from Tee O’Fallen, (who it appears is in fact a real life federal agent), so I’m thinking she knows what she writes. She also has a dog (not a police dog I might add), she also likes chocolate and martinis, so, she’s my kinda gal. Another K-9 five star read for me. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review.
This was a fast paced, action packed read that kept me captivated throughout. I liked both MC’s as they both had believeable and tragic pasts. Since I’m a dog person, I especially loved Stray and Saxon although I missed the description of Stray other than her being a brown dog. For me, that was an important detail that was missed. There were some steamy scenes that were not too explicit. I would have loved an epilogue but suspect this couple will reappear in the future books of this series.
I like K9 stories and this one was fantastic.
Looking for a man who was laundering money for an illegal gun dealer, the State Police, ATF, and FBI go to his house with a search warrant. He’s out of town but his friend, Andi Hardt, is staying there and they find her giving her dog a bath in the shower. Embarrassing? You bet! As far as the police are concerned, Andi is working with the man. To clear her name she will need to cooperate with them.
Determined to find the man, Nick went undercover as a bartender at Andi’s business – the Dog Park Café. Working so closely made it hard for Nick and Andi to handle their attraction. This was NOT the time for these feelings.
This is a great suspense. Not only are the officers good at their jobs but so is Nick’s K9 partner. He’s amazing. Always ready to go to work. I loved seeing him in action. The romance was sweet and spicy. I loved that the romance was not just between the main characters but their dogs too. This book kept me in suspense to the very end, surprising me when I found out who the villain was. Never would have guessed.
I am so glad I won Armed ‘N’ Ready in a giveaway. If you like edge of your seat suspense with romance, I highly recommend this book.
In spite of the insta-love and lack of reality, I really like this author. She does a good job of sucking me in and making me care about the characters.
