Despite her sharp scientific mind and her degree in bio-molecular genetics, Dr. Ariel Jones hasn’t figured out how her life changed so much in a single day. Before she can blink and ask about what is going on, she’s being shot with a billion nanos and some very potent wolf blood.
Now she can suddenly turn into a giant white wolf with the bloodlust of a starving animal. And she’s an alpha wolf…or … alpha wolf…or so she is told by the even larger, very male, black wolf who was used to create her. Hallucination? She wishes. Whether human or wolf, Reed talks in her head and tells her how to handle things…or rather how to kill them…starting with the men who hold them all captive. Too bad he can’t tell her how to put her life back like it was.
Admittedly, there are perks to being a werewolf, such as meeting sexy werewolf guys like Matthew Gray Wolf. It’s not like the science labs were overrun with sexy men in white coats. She also doesn’t mind learning about a side of herself she never knew existed. It’s great changing into a real wolf whenever she wants, but being a living experiment wasn’t part of the scientific career she’d planned for herself. Neither was falling for the local werewolf alpha, but what else is a newbie werewolf caught in her burning time going to do?

The premise of the book was interesting but it just didn’t seem to flow well plot-wise and writing style-wise to feel a connection. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Book one in the Nano Wolves series this is bio-molecular genetics, Dr. Ariel Jones who is turned into a white wolf shifter without her permission, and Alpha werewolf Matthew Gray Wolf’s story. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an interesting introduction to the Nano Wolves series. This is an action packed book that has a great storyline. I like that Ariel is strong, smart and personable. This is a unique read that I would like to read more about the characters.

Dr Ariel Jones takes a new job but would never imagine the extreme change it will make to her life.
Dr Ariel Jones wrote a thesis in a mutated strand of the DNA unaware she herself carried it and did not know that she had been employed in Alaska because of these two facts. She wakes to find herself strapped on a gurney along with two other women with her boss standing over her explaining the experiment he was going to run on them. One by one they are sedated injected and put in a cage and Ariel wakes to find the light hurts her eyes and loud noise hurts her ears plus she has a strange male voice in her head telling her not to change until she is out of the cage and can free them all. When her boss and his technician return she turns into a wolf and kills them both then frees the other women and the large black wolf whose blood was used to change them.

Dr. Ariel Jones and two others became part of a science experiment without their consent. A shot of nanos and the blood of an enormous black wolf changed their lives forever. In her new life experiences, Ariel meets Matthew Gray Wolf, the alpha pack leader of another pack, and the two of them try to navigate their mutual interest in each other while both alphas’ deal with their instincts that insist they be in charge! There will definitely be fun times with this one! Grab your copy and watch the fur fly!!
I had purchased this book back in 2016. I recognized it as soon as I started to read it. Unfortunately, I must not have reviewed it back then. But the author is one of my favorites, so it was fun to read it again. My only complaint was that Ariel, a supposed brilliant scientist waking up strapped to the gurney, was amazingly slow at coming to the understanding of the true nature of what she herself had been working on! Even as Dr. Crane explained it to her, she didn’t really get it. She didn’t even seem aware that the huge black wolf was a shifter. But I enjoyed the story [again] and I think others will as well.
This is a fantastic paranormal romance! I liked it.. There is danger and passion, with interesting characters..

While this may not be Donna McDonald’s best work I still found it to be highly enjoyable. I liked the premise of the book and the characters. I’m ready for the rest of the series.

Action packed book! Too bad that the scientist that was trying to help the other scientists that were bad. Ariel was one of the women experimented on and became wolves. She got them and Reed the werewolf blood doner out of the bunker and had the place blown up. They had to learn how it is to be wolves and about mates. Ariel as helping Reed to get his pack straightened up and Matthew the alpha that helped was her mate! When they had the problems sorted out they ended up staying together!
I was madly, utterly & wholly blown away by this story!! It is so different than any other Shifter book I have ever read in all the best ways possible! It is both intense & light-hearted, dark & light, deep & rich and everything else that makes a story go from “okay” to utterly WOLFTASTIC & FANGTABULOUS!!! Since I was enraptured from the start, it is safe to say that this is one of those stories!!! I loved the characters and found it so refreshing to read a book with such an awesome female lead. I abso-freaking-lutely loved Alpha Ariel, but the blending of Alpha Matt & her was beyond words!
