Aribelle was a strong female lead for this story. She was the alpha! Her partner was no less an alpha but one that could stand beside her while she kicked arse and support her. I enjoyed the story, that it had a depth of plot and that the drive of nature for the wolves didn’t mean that the plot got put aside or that the nature of the wolves could be ignored. Both were woven into the story as this was the pack’s everyday lives. It was easy to read and I found myself captivated in the story. This was a stand-alone story and yet plenty of story and threads to keep more books going.

Aribelle did not want to be alpha but had no choice when the alpha and other packmates were murdered. She finds her mate almost immediately upon moving back to the pack. But hers is not the only pack with murdered packmates. But who is doing the killing?
This story is well written with a lot of steam and great characters including wolf shifters and witches.

Aribelle is in line to take over as Alpha of her pack. She comes back home when pack members start disappearing and then turning up dead without their hearts. She meets Nikolaj at a bar one night and sparks fly. I love how the characters are playing with fire when touching could lead to the life changing results of a mate. This also had the potential to create more problems than just a mate. Two not friendly packs working together to stop a murdering witch adds more drama and excitement. I also love the female alpha side of the story. It was very satisfying how balance was struck between Aribelle and Nikolaj. I would like to know more about what will happen with Zanoch.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Aribelle: The First Female Alpha by McKayla Schutt is a stand alone read that is featured in the Souls and Shadows Anthology. This is an interesting read, but I must admit it wasn’t what I was expecting. Despite this, I was pulled into the story and enjoyed the ride. A quick read that is packed with action and sexy heat (in more ways than one), magic and shifters, this story does not disappoint. Aribelle and Nikolaj make a steamy couple facing a complicated situation. I loved that the story unfolded quickly and pulled you into the drama. While it reads as stand alone, it would make a great start to a new series. There are characters introduced through the story that I would love to know more about. A great Saturday morning read that will leave you smiling!

This is a great story! I love reading anything by McKayla Schutt. I couldn’t put it down.
Aribelle has come home after a phone call from her mother. Someone is killing members of their pack. On the first night back, she meets Nikolaj. They imprint and become mates. The next day she becomes the alpha of the pack. The clock is ticking and more people are dying. Will Aribelle and Nikolaj be able to figure who is after their pack and stop them?

McKayla has given us a refreshing take on the usual alpha shifter tale. It is well-written, funny, hot and twisted all at the same time. I was captivated by this concept and enjoyed this story. I loved Aribelle’s strong character and her indecisiveness just made her endearing to the reader. The immediate chemistry between Aribelle and Nikolaj was humorous and hot. I highly recommend this read, its instant entertainment.

Aribelle’s mother was telling her she had to come home! She told her people were dying, five wolves going missing for two days and then found on the outskirts of town with their hearts gone and no blood. Aribelle was best suited to be their next alpha and she was the only child old enough for the job, with her dad not doing well. Her wolf wanted to be the female alpha; her parents said it was her destiny! But her human sense told her it would be a very difficult task with a great deal of male pressure to step down. So her mother agreed to pay her bills for 3 months if she would come home and see what she could do, with no promises that she would be the alpha. Things were about to get complicated!
The author gives us a well written book with an intriguing story line. The characters are portrayed well and the author does a great job pulling you in and keeping you reading to the end to see if Aribelle will successfully take over as alpha and if she and her mate can find out what’s happening with the murders. I enjoyed watching Aribelle and Nikolaj’s interactions and the touch of humor the author used throughout the story. This is yet another good shifter story from this author for you to enjoy!

I enjoyed McKayla Schutt’s Aribelle – nothing like a butt kicking werewolf who is a female who finds her way in pack and romance – and it is not an easy road.
exciting reads, with both dark and light sides to the leaders and lives and loves.
not a collection of mouseworld fairytales !
