I LOVE MARISSA MEYER i havnt read this one yet still looking for it but ive read the Lunar Chronicles and renegades and loved them all so this MUST be as good!
Wow. Just wow.
This was a fantastic second book. I’m totally looking forward to the next one!
The second book in the Renegades series is a good book. It drags though throughout most of the book. Too much of a focus on the romance and how long it takes for both clueless teenagers to figure out they like each other and not enough action until the last couple of chapters. I enjoyed it because it’s part of the overall story and I found the exploration of some of the powers fascinating, but there needed to be more action.
I jumped straight into this one after finishing book 1 but it just didn’t keep the momentum going for me. I wanted more of a full story rather than the murky middle-ground of a trilogy. It’s still a good book and I’m still looking forward to finishing the series as soon as I can get my hands on book 3, I’m just hoping that Meyer manages to recapture the magic of book 1 and put it all together for a truly explosive ending to this series. In this book it’s easy to see that we’re supposed to get the feeling Nova is wavering in her long-held beliefs but by the end it feels like she’s just blindly following again without thought to what SHE actually wants or needs. God I hope that girl wakes up in Book 3, looks around, and figures out who she is without everyone telling her who she is SUPPOSED to be, otherwise all of this will have been for nothing in my humble opinion. She’s a strong heroine but I need her to stand on her own in book 3. Fingers Crossed, I’m diving in.
Heroes, villains, vengeance, forbidden love… and endless chills! Archenemies is one of the rare “book 2” editions in a trilogy that doesn’t disappoint.
“In this second installment of the Renegades trilogy, Nova, Adrian, and the rest of their crew – Ruby, Oscar, and Danna — are faced with escalating crime in Gatlon City, while covert weapons and conflicting missions have Nova and Adrian questioning not only their beliefs about justice, but also the feelings they have for each other.”
The end of the first book revealed the truth about what happened to Nova’s infamous Uncle Ace Anarchy. In this novel, Nova’s driving desire to seek justice for her family and her growing affection for Adrian come to a head, forcing her to at last make a choice between love and family. But her enemy has another trick up their sleeve.
I just finished reading Archenemies and couldn’t wait to write a review. The ending left me stunned and — I will admit — there was a moment in those final chapters when I nearly threw the book down and gave up on it. When you read the book (and you definitely should), you will know exactly when that moment struck for me. It turned my blood cold and I literally couldn’t breathe.
Archenemies is a fast-paced page-turner packed with love, hate, and desperation. The characters are relatable, as are their motivations. They stick to their guns even when their own safety or happiness is on the line. If it’s possible, I think I loved this book more than Renegades!
A clear 5 stars. Hands down.
To fall in love with someone you never really knew. And to fight on opposite sides only to be tested what you’ll fight for.
A great continuation of Renegades, with Nova learning and questioning.
How I wanted to like this book… I liked the first one.
This one had good things about it, but the story kinda fell flat for me.
I wanted more action and adventure with all these really cool characters that have really cool super powers. I got some action and adventure, but nothing like the fast-paced excitement I got last time.
I almost got what I wanted with Nova and Adrian too, but again it was not to be.
If there is another book, I hope it is more exciting than this one. I still think it’s a cool group of villains and heroes. I want to see them do more to save humanity.
2.5/5
