New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh returns to the electric world of Guild Hunters, where passion meets peril.Archangel Titus and Sharine, the Hummingbird, must work together to fight off the reborn and track down a target that could cause the end of the Archangels.
I honestly didn’t think Nalini could ever top her other books, but I was wrong. Archangel’s Sun is a poignant, romantic, and stunning entry in the Guild Hunter’s series. Shirene now tops my list of favorite heroines of all time while Titus will forever hold a place in my heart.
Archangel’s Sun begins a new foray into the GH world after a devastating war and the glimpses of how this new world will shake out is thrilling and mesmerizing.
I screamed with glee at certain parts and I cannot to see where the brilliant Nalini Singh takes us next!
4.5
The world is still reeling from what was wrought by Archangel’s Lijuan and Carisemnon. In Africa, Archangel Titus is tasked with not only rebuilding his own territory, but also that of his now gone enemy. The war may be over, but small battles are still raging as nests of the undead are uncovered across the continent. Titus’s patience has been running thin and aide is scarce.
When Lady Sharine, known throughout angelkind as The Hummingbird, is sent to help, Titus knows it’s only because there is no one else available, and doesn’t really expect an angel who has been lost in her own world of memories to offer any real help. The angel who stands before him, however, is not at all what he expected.
Sharine is a beloved and cherished fixture in angel kind known for her beautiful paintings, but a series of past tragedies and traumas left her mind broken. Sharine has finally started to clear the fog. Started to live again. She is determined to not let the past continue to influence the future including dealing with overbearing archangels.
But if Sharine is not what Titus expected, the same can be said for Sharine’s own expectations when it comes to Titus. Sometimes the most unexpected thing is what you needed all along.
Despite the ongoing battles peppered throughout, Archangel’s Sun feels like a cooling off period after the back to back intensity of Archangel’s Prophecy and Archangel’s War. Focusing more on the revelations discovered while people and places are still in a state of recovery.
Sharine and Titus’s story is one I didn’t ever think about, they are a pairing I wouldn’t have pinpointed but they turned out to be absolutely perfect. I liked how Sharine is initially underestimated. Being soft, not a warrior, she’s a “treasure” who should be spared any talk of blood and fighting. She’s a singing example of soft not being weak. I loved how she was quick to embrace modern technology and would offer insights that younger angels couldn’t even think of. If anything, I wish Sharine’s wisdom and experience had been explored further. Titus is constantly forgetting that Sharine is older than him by millennia because she’s learned to live more in the present and embrace changes that come with the passing of time. I always love the idea of these long-lived creatures and the history they each have. I just wish we got a bit more of that this time around.
As far as Sharine and Titus, I just like the ease of their relationship. I like that she pushes his buttons and to a lesser extent he pushes her, but them being together is never about filling some kind of void but rather just something that enhances their lives.
I enjoy when we get this kind of break and in such a long-running series I think it’s important to have. Of course, Nalini Singh always gives enticing indications of where we’ll go next and I’m really eager to see what plays out next.
I love this series so much!
5 stars – I loved it!
This book was a surprise. I was not expecting a book about the Hummingbird but this was very good. This book was slower paced compared to the previous ones but I think it really worked for getting to know Sharine and Titus. I don’t usually enjoy slow burn romances but this one was wonderful.
Sharine, also known as the Hummingbird, is a very strong woman who has been through a lot of traumatic experiences. It caused her mind to break for a very long time but she has finally found herself again. I really enjoyed watching her find herself again and recover some of her mories. Also, I loved how caring she was and that she takes the time to keep in touch with her son, and all her adopted kids.
“Sharine had become his sun, the star around which he revolved.”
Titus has always been an archangel that I liked. He was loud, fun, and blunt. I really loved getting to know more about him and how he runs his territory. Watching him fall in love with Sharine was great, especially since she wasn’t afraid to stand up to him or call him out for his behavior. Also, Titus was a great ruler and truly cared about his land and people, which I really liked.
The storyline in this book, outside of the romance, was about cleaning up after the war and destroying the infected. Learning about the different kinds of infected and while some information is given about the cleanup in other territories, this one mostly focused on Africa. Overall, this was a great change of pace after the war in the previous book and I really can’t wait to see these two as a couple in the next book.
Just LOVE this series
The interaction between Sharine and Titus was spellbinding.
I adored the newest book in the Guild Hunter series! The Hummingbird and Titus! Fantastic!
I’m scared of the next book though.
I have been wanting a book on Titus ever since I first read Angel’s Blood and have only fallen more in love with him. Ms. Singh made me a very happy reader when she announced his book and that his mate would be Sharine, Illium’s Mum. Perfect Pairing!!! I am not sure how she continues to do this but this book…this story…the emotions that are invoked, is awe-inspiring. I read it slowly and methodically and cannot find one single fault. I truly loved reading about Titus and his older sisters, the women who were commanders and spymasters and in charge, the true warriors in here, that fought the reborn, was par for the course, as always. I adored how the Hummingbird became Sharine, the woman once again but stronger for the transgression brought against her by someone who should have loved her beyond compare, (looking at you Aegaeon, asshat, Lol) only for her to shine, for her true consort, Titus. This…This…is now my favorite book in the GH series!!! Bravo on another job well done, Ms. Singh
This one of my very favorite quotes…
“As always, the sight of her knocked all the air out of his lungs even as sunshine flooded his bloodstream. Sharine had become his sun, the star around which he revolved.”
5 BRILLIANT, SUN SHINING, AMAZING STARZ
Fantastic! I love it. Titus has been one of my favorite characters throughout the series, even though he’s played such small roles. Getting to read this book and really watching him shine at the same time Sharine has come out of her shell has been a delight. Not to mention all the aftermath of the war and the cleanup. There was never a dull moment. It’s been a great novel and a great series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading every word of it.
Nalini Singh is one of my 3 favorite authors. I expect to enjoy any book she writs and this one was no exception. Her world building is excellent and I always fall in love with her characters. She also writes strong female characters which is delightful. These books should be read in order to get the full impact of the story and I highly recommend all of them.
Archangel’s Sun is the highly anticipated story of Titus and The Hummingbird/Sharine and is part of the Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh. At the end of the previous book, we saw the Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease get defeated, but they seem to have left unimaginable horrors behind. The reborn are set on taking over the world, especially in Titus’s area of Africa.
Titus and his people are trying their hardest to get rid of the reborn and to start over again. Enter the Hummingbird, a woman who has risen from the ashes and become Sharine. She is old and powerful, but her mind is like a kaleidoscope, giving her glimpses into her past which are not always easy to deal with.
Titus and Sharine worked so well together. You have Titus who is this booming, no nonsense Archangel who rules with strength and determination who is pitted with Sharine, an angel who is coming not only into her own powers (which have lain dormant), but a woman who speaks her mind, has a core strength about her and doesn’t let Titus get away with anything. I also enjoyed reading about her past, so that we saw how she became the Hummingbird. Her relationship with her son, Illium is beautiful too!
This was a wonderful book to read. It had action, romance and two characters that work well together to build a slow and steamy romance which has a backbone of steel.

I love this series! Nalini did a fantastic job bring the story around!
Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors, and her newest novel in the Guild Hunter series doesn’t disappoint.
She manages to keep the world fresh and the characters engaging. They are “full-bodied” and I can relate to them on so many levels.
LOVE IT
What a fantastic novel to start off 2021. Archangel’s Sun is the 13th book in the Guild Hunter series and it takes place in the aftermath of the cascade and archangelic war. This was Titus and Sharine’s story. Well now this was a pairing I never expected, never knew I wanted and I absolutely loved. Titus expected a gentle, fragile woman and got Sharine instead, a woman coming back into her own self and their story was one that had me hooked.
These two were amazing together. They baited and aggravated each other and their back and forth banter had me highly amused. I loved seeing the perceptions they both had of the other fall away as they grew to respect and love each other. There was a cast of supporting characters who all provided excellent support and balance and added so much to the story.
This authors writing is magic, as the novel was well written with graphic details and made each scene easy to picture in the minds eye. The plot was intriguing and engrossing and kept you on your toes and I loved it all. But most of all I loved seeing the Hummingbird come into her own. The development of her characters was exceptional and I loved that Titus saw her for who she was, fell in love with her and was willing to wait.
This was a phenomenal read and an excellent addition to this series. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of paranormal romance.
Y’all this one had my heart racing a bit. I love this series and It was everything I wanted it to be with this new addition.
This was a beautifully written romance in the wakes of a war. This was a coupling I didn’t see coming in this amazing backdrop that the author has crafted. You are sucked right into it and don’t want to leave when the book comes to an end. I loved that I didn’t see this pairing coming because it made it that much more fun to read. This was a definite 5 star for me and might be my favorite read of this series.
Sharine was utterly fascinating! Her continuing journey of self discovery was filled with many emotions, but no matter how “mad” she appeared to be in the past, her core self always remained the same-intelligent, accepting, and filled with so much love to share with those around her. I was thrilled she was getting her own story.
Titus was quite captivating! He’s loud, brash, and always honest. Getting his back story and learning what made him tick was quite a journey. I also loved the relationships he had with his siblings and how he treated others in his care. He was just a good guy.
Now the romance was a pretty sweet treat! I truly didn’t think I would buy into Sharine and Titus as a couple. However, the more layers Sharine revealed and the more Titus accepted and supported…considered me sold:) While the ending didn’t go quite the way I had hoped for, I’m holding hope that might change down the road!
Love in the aftermath of war…
Lady Sharine, aka Hummingbird, grows into her own. The Guild Hunter saga continues and I couldn’t be happier at this unexpected pairing. I’m not sure if I should have seen this couple coming but they were honestly a surprise. The fierce Archangel of Africa and the beautiful ancient came together to help rid the continent of evil but to also heal the land and its people. Their courtship was gentle and slow, in direct contrast to the war they and their comrades waged. I loved the strength of Sharine as she continued to hold her head eye, accepting her past while forging a strong future. Little did she know it would be with Titus by her side.
Beautiful romance, a deadly mystery and my heart lived and breathed it… If you haven’t read this series, you must, must, must!

I loved it. Titus and the Hummingbird’s (Sharine) story was wonderful. I really enjoyed seeing Sharine’s character development. Titus was so funny at times. He’s a great character and I liked how his character developed as well. It wasn’t quite as steamy as most of the other Guild Hunter series, but it was reasonable that it wasn’t. Of course, it left me wondering what is to come!
Epic!. This love story is exactly what we need in 2020. Thank you, Nalini. Loved loved loved the story of Titus and Sharine.
