Return to Nalini Singh’s darkly passionate Guild Hunter world with this New York Times bestseller, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust center stage into an eons-old prophecy… she’s regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.
Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena’s very survival, violent forces are gathering across the world. In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena’s mind whispers a haunting voice that isn’t her own.
This time, survival may not be possible…not even for the consort of an archangel.

Note: If you haven’t started the Guild Hunter series yet, then you need to start from the begging. Their is an over all ARC and character development.
Elena has a fight on her hands and it my just end her life….
Now, Elena and Raphael have had their challenges throughout this series, but in this one destiny and prophecy and the Cascade are all agents them. Elena is losing her immortality, but she will not give up without a fight. I cried, I felt, and I hurt for all involved in this installment. This was an emotional and heartbreaking read. The ending will leaving you reeling and shocked.
Besides the Cascade and Elena’s fight with destiny, we have a murder mystery going on and a Consort determined to protect those she loves. We also get little snippets, POV’s, of The Legend. I really enjoyed seeing their perspective; especially at the end, when you know time is moving on, but you can’t figure out how much time and what the outcome will be.
Ms. Singh has delivered another superb installment in the Guild Hunter series. It’s a fight, It’s an FU to prophecy and destiny, and one emotional roller coaster ride. I can’t wait for the next installment; especially after that ending.

Imagines a world were angels are immortal beings ruling earth. The series sucks you in.
Not sure how I missed this one but when I opened up Archangel’s War (#12 of the Guild Hunters) to a very surprise beginning, I realized Prophecy (#11) had slipped passed me. Good try, Nalini!
Anyway, this is more of the same of the excellent Guild Hunter series. After some digressions to help the rest of the Seven find love in previous books, we’re back with Elena and Raphael. I love Elena as a character, which is good as apparently everyone in Elena’s world adores her as well. Prophecy blends a good old murder/attempted murder investigation with the overall end-of-the-world elements that are coming to a head. Highly enjoyable. Every character, even the minor ones like a criminal-turned-bagel-seller, is written with the same level of detail that makes the world so fascinating.
I love the Guild Hunter world that Nalini Singh has built and wait for every new book to come out, and then have the dilemma whether to devour it fast to savor the read. I did both for Prophecy. I devoured the day it came out, then after a couple of weeks I savored a re-read.
I love the Guild Hunter universe. Archangel’s Prophecy was different from the previous books. If you’ve been on the Internet at all and have read the previous GH books, you know that this one is a cliffhanger. If you hate those you might want to wait until the next one comes out before reading it. That didn’t bother me since I trust Nalini to eventually give us the happy ending romance readers crave.
I love her books. Each one is worthy of re-reading. I can’t say much about this one without spoilers, so I’ll just say grab your copy and read it!
I’m always excited for any new Nalini Singh book, but when I found out the next Guild Hunter novel would be Elena and Raphael again I was beyond thrilled! I cannot get enough of the archangel of NY and his consort.
You really have to read these in order (at least have read the ones that focus on Elena and Raphael) or you will be lost. Singh has created a unique world that will be lost on readers who aren’t caught up on the series. Archangel’s Prophecy picks up when the cascade is causing havoc again. In addition, Elena is having some very strange symptoms. Her wings are quite right, she isn’t healing like an immortal should, and she is hearing voices in her head speaking of her impending death. The world is in total turmoil! Raphael has to focus on all the world’s problems as well as face the possibility that Elena could die. And, another archangel could be awakening soon. Cassandra is SUPER old and therefore VERY powerful. This could seriously throw the world into chaos…and combined with the Cascade…YIKES!
Woven into all this major drama is an issue with Elena’s sister and brother in law. Someone nearly killed Harrison and threatened Beth and their daughter. Elena is desperate to figure out who the threat is so she can protect Beth. Because, you know, she isn’t dealing with bat crap crazy stuff going on around her and in her own body!
I love Elena and Raphael. Elena is the quintessential ‘badass heroine’. She is a vampire hunter who is very good at her job. She is the consort to an archangel, but doesn’t let that title become her only identity. Raphael is a big, badass archangel but he so loves Elena. Their love is sweet and in contrast to how deadly they both are. They are one of my all time favorite fictional couples.
Fans of the series will love this new edition! You get not only more Elena and Raphael, but snippets of all your favorites from the previous books! Archangel’s Prophecy is everything you want from a Guild Hunter book and will leave you elated and already counting down for the next edition (because THAT ENDING!?!?!)
Raphael is the Archangel of the territory surrounding New York City. He worries over his consort’s continual decline. The Cascade promises cataclysmic changes, yet Raphael and Elena refuse to conform to its commands. What does the Cascade have in store for Raphael and Elena? Can he find a way to reverse Elena’s strange regression?
Guild Hunter Elena Deveraux is the first angel-made in eons. She hears an ancient, feminine voice heralding her death. Strange phenomenon signal the start of the Cascade. Elena ignores all the portents of doom to investigate her brother-in-law’s attack. Can Elena find the one who assaulted her brother-in-law before her health deteriorates further? Will she thwart the Cascade’s plans?
I like the fact that both Raphael and Elena are experiencing changes. It is not one-sided. I adore how they deal with the changes as a solid unit instead of handling them by themselves. I love how Raphael can anticipate Elena’s concerns and fears, so once they manifest, he can ease them. But, what I admire the most about Raphael is how he does not try to coddle or smother Elena despite his concerns over her declining health. Rather, he prefers Elena to be her warrior-self up until the end.
I have always liked and enjoyed Elena’s snarky, tough-as-nails personality. This book shows her vulnerable side. I like how Elena ignores her regression; instead, she puts all her focus on solving the case involving her brother-in-law. I adore the fact that she keeps no secrets from her Archangel. That whenever something happens, she tells him personally. But what I like the most about Elena is that she understands why Raphael is backsliding into his former ways and not reprimanding him for it. She knows it is Raphael’s fear causing him to behave that way.
ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is book eleven in Nalini Singh’s paranormal romance series, GUILD HUNTER. Sadly, I am three books behind in the series, namely the recent ones about Raphael’s Seven, so some events mentioned I was clueless about. I seriously need to rectify that soon to understand the plot’s full scope. Much to my disappointment, Aodhan does not make an appearance in this installment, just repeatedly mentioned. I never realized just how much I missed him and Ilium until this story.
ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is a gripping tale about a dynamic couple determination to thumb their nose at fate and write their own future. I cannot wait to see what’s next for Elena and Raphael. Also, I hope either Ilium or Aodhan’s book is next.

4 stars – It was really good
Elena and Raphael are dealing with a new problem, an eons old prophecy that calls for Elena’s death. As they race to deal with it, Elena also finds herself on the hunt for a killer who has targeted her sister’s family.
This book was nonstop. So much happened and it was all very emotional. These two have dealt with so much in this series but this prophecy really tops them all. Elena really shows how strong of a woman she is in this one. She is slowly withering away and yet is determined to finish her hunt to stop a killer.
Raphael is struggling to deal with the changes in Elena and is feeling helpless. The emotional turmoil that Raphael is feeling in this book is very powerful and it made me really like him for a change. He is a character that I waffle on throughout this series because he usually is very serious.
The ending of this book was so crazy and unexpected. I wasn’t expecting a cliffhanger like that and I am really glad I am catching up on this series late because I would have gone crazy if I had to wait for a whole year to find out what happened next. I am totally jumping right into the next book and I hope it is just as good, and action packed, as this one was.

Return to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s darkly passionate Guild Hunter world, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust center stage into an eons-old prophecy…
Midnight and dawn, Elena’s wings are unique among angelkind—and now they are failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she’s regressing.
A love beyond death and destruction…
I am on a crash course to catch up before the next book release.
I confess when I read advance review the book ended with a cliffhanger, something I very much dislike, I put the book aside on my shelves, telling myself I would read it when the next would come.
Then life went on, and I forgot about it.
Until I was granted access to the most recent release. So now I can’t go back, I have this book and the next in the series to read to be ready for Archangel’s Sun coming out next week.
And it was so good to reconnect with everyone, like seing again old friends. And they are all here, like a big family reunion.
« One must die for one to live »
Of all the books in this series, I fell like this one was the more poignant, I became tears-eyed for the second part of my reading.
The close relationship between Elena and Raphael could not have been strong.
Since the fall’s scene at the end of the first book, this book is in entirety a love’s declaration. Of a love stronger than anything else, of a love transcending hardship and disaster.
Impossible to tell more without spoiling the story, but while each follows its own lead, their love comes out stronger than it was even before.
And now that the sequel is out, it will be no problem to read it, which it is what I will now do, jump in the next book.

I love this series, and this book was no exception. I love this world and the characters.
My my.. As soon as I thought Elena was out of the woods with her newly evolved powers, everything in the world starts to fall apart. Including Elena’s immortality. The whole time I was reading this book I kept saying “oh no!”. And like every book in this series, I stayed glued to my couch, devouring every single word. Raphael starts to show more and more of his humanity and love for his consort. The madness and danger of this world are enough to keep me intrigued, but the main couple consumes me like no other!
I’m almost caught up with the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh before the next book comes out in November. Thank goodness. This series has been one of my favorites to read because of the world and the characters. I’ve always loved angels/archangels in romance books, and this series feeds that passion.
The eleventh book in the series is back with Elena and Raphael. This time though, Elena is losing her immortality by regressing backward. She’s losing her feathers, not healing minor cuts, and dealing with sharp pains and itching near her chest. It’s like she’s becoming a mortal again. Oh, and let’s not forget the voice in her head that keeps telling her that she is destined to die for the other to live. There are also mysterious owls that keep showing up, but Ashwini says they are only messengers, and she shouldn’t worry about them. Yup, Elena has it hard in this book. Raphael, her beloved archangel, is worried for her and will not be the same if something happens. He has to deal with strange happenings too because of the Cascade. It’s never dull for these two characters.
There’s also the issue of Harrison, Elena’s little sister’s husband, almost being killed by someone. Now that someone has threatened Beth and Harrison’s daughter. Elena doesn’t care that she is regressing because she needs to find the person that almost killed Harrison and protect her sister and her niece at all costs. She’s a determined Guild Hunter who will do anything to protect her family, even if it kills her. < She’s one of my favorite kick-butt heroines because of her determination and strength.>
This book will keep you turning the pages because it is a whirlwind of madness due to the Cascade and a killer on the loose. I wish Elena and Raphael could have some peace in their lives, but these two have a war coming soon, and they will need to be there to fight it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Elena will be there. If you’ve read the previous books that involve Raphael and Elena, you’ll know these two are inseparable. Raphael is a true Alpha male who will do anything to make sure Elena lives. He will even die instead of having to deal with life without her. You can feel their connection between each other, and no strange old being talking to Elena about destiny will stop these two from loving each other.
Nalini Singh always does a fantastic job with her stories, and this one was no different. Be prepared, though, because there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. I know I will be diving into the next book immediately. I need to know what happens. I was almost in tears towards the end due to what was happening. I don’t particularly appreciate seeing anything happen between my favorite couple in the series.
One other thing that fascinated me about this book was how the Legion played a role in this book more than usual. They seem to be very protective of Elena for a reason. It may be because of Raphael, but I know it’s something else. They are fascinated by Elena.
Overall, this book receives 4.5 stars from me, and I highly recommend it to PNR readers out there and readers that enjoy Urban Fantasy.
I’m crossing my fingers that Raphael and Elena finally get some peace in their lives in the next book, but that’s highly unlikely. I wouldn’t have it any other way because Nalini keeps me coming back for more with this series.
Love it .. it an awesome book and the story ohgoooooosh
The Guild Hunter series is great. When I finish a book I can’t wait for the next.
Another great read from Nalini Singh!
One of my favorite authors. Nalini Singh draws you into her books with exciting story lines, vivid, stong characters and great writing. I devour all of her books.
