Another great read from Nalini Singh!
I’m so happy that I read Archangel’s Legion by Nalini Singh because it involves my favorite archangel/angel couple, Raphael and Elena. These two are the reason I fell hard for the Guild Hunter series by the fabulous Nalini Singh. Although I do love Raphael’s Seven too and can’t wait to read their books, Elena and Raphael will always be my favorite, until Illium aka Bluebell, finally gets his book. Illium is a sweetheart, and I need to find out who wins his heart, after everything he went through with the mortal woman he fell in love with initially. He deserves happiness like everyone else.
In the sixth installment, angels are falling from the skies, and vampires are dying from an impossible disease, and it’s up to Raphael, Elena and Raphael’s Seven to figure out what is going on in their city. An angelic war is brewing, and Raphael and Elena know it’s going to cause a lot of damage and deaths. They have to prepare for it, but in the meantime, they have other issues happening too. A dark force is also stirring, and it has eyes for Raphael, and Elena is scared for him, but she will always be there to help him. Elena also has things that have been haunting her from her past. She will never get over it until she confronts the one person that blames her for the past, which happens to be her father, who I can’t stand in the books.
I loved being back with Raphael and Elena in the sixth book, even though there was some drama in this book with a former lover/friend of Raphael. Elena showed her jealously in this book, but Raphael proved so many times how much he loved her. This book involved a lot of action between the angelic war and all the darkness that keeps showing up in the city. Lijuan is one that suspected of making all the darkness happening, but Raphael and his Seven need to be sure. Lijuan is one archangel who I wouldn’t want to mess with, and I was scared for my favorite characters. The ending though, blew me away because I wasn’t expecting it, which is one of many reasons why I love Nalini Singh’s stories. She knows how to surprise me and leave me for more. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series soon because I need more of the Guild Hunter series.
If you have not read this series by Nalini Singh and love PNR with angels/archangels/vampires, then I would recommend this series. It’s one of my favorites, which is why I’m trying to catch up on reading this series before the next book releases in November 2020.
fabulous series – read them all!
I had thought book 5 lacked a bit of action and let’s just say, book 6 made up for that. That extra action at the end just made me love this couple even more. The love that Raphael and Elena have for each other is really felt on the pages. My favorite thing to read about is a couple who are totally devoted to each other and won’t allow anyone or anything to come in between them. You get that with these two. I also like that with this being book 6, I’m in no way bored with this series. It’s still just as exciting as book 1. There is a lot going on that keeps your attention and many things still to be revealed about this world. On to book 7!
Woo hoo! Another book that brings us back to Raphael and Elena. I was seriously stoked about this installment and I am pretty sure I devoured it in two sittings.
The Good:
It’s about Raphael and Elena! More emotional scenes about their devotion to each other as well as their people and more upon more about the world of the Cadre, angels, vampires and Guild Hunters.
Every single book so far has enhanced this amazing world and it’s a testament to Nalini Singh’s talent that I keep craving more!
Of course, the very best part was the growth and flaws in the relationship with Raphael and Elena that make it much more real to the reader.
The Bad:
Honestly, I want more. I want to know more about Raphael and Elena. The fact that he is so old and powerful and the world is on the eve of destruction half the time leads one to want more, demand more, and I don’t know a single reader who wants to wait for the next book!
5 stars!
O M G!!!! This is the BEST book I’ve read all year!! Nalini completely blew me away!! I could not put this book down! This is a MUST READ for anyone who loves a great, well-written story, sexy angels, and the continuing struggle between good and evil, power and destruction, and strength and sacrifice.
Great book, great author, great love, great everything! There was nothing about this book that I didn’t love. It was AMAZING!!

Audiobook, borrowed through the Audible romance package.
While I do really like the narrator, I can’t discern whether my problem with Raphael lies more in her voice for him or Singh’s writing. A lot of his lines are cheese central and feel immature for an immortal Archangel that’s centuries old.
Elena still kicks ass and I love pretty much everything about her.
The relationships between characters are complex and so real in this fantasy world. That’s one of my favorite things to see. Whether it’s lovers, friends, enemies, or family, the emotions feel spot on and those relationships bring some depth to the story. And they fill in those spots that might otherwise feel slow or like nothing is happening while readers are waiting on whatever the big action scene’s going to be.
Which, by the way, the main action scene was EPIC.
I really like all the books to this series.
I plan to reread the series I believe I may have missed a few books since I read this book.
I so totally enjoyed this book ! Nalini Singh is such an amazing writer ,she weaves this super cool worlds with such interesting characters that you can’t help but love these books 🙂
I loved getting to read more about Elena And Raphael ,seeing a new side to them and their relationship was great , i loved that Elena always stands up for herself ,i mean Raphael can be a little intimidating but that doesn’t stop her from making her self heard , i love that Raphael listens to Elena ,he doesn’t just decide everything for her even though all he wants to do is make sure she is safe ,they are 100 percent partners in this relationship that is new to both of them .
Loved seeing more of Aodhan, Illium & Naasir ! i am in love with all of the side characters and i can’t wait until they all get their own books !
This series is so freaking awesome and i highly recommend it to anyone who loves Angels ,Vampires & Badass characters 🙂
Nalini Singh is the best, her books pull you into another world. I cannot wait for the next one.
The Archangel series from Nalini Singh is a must read as far as I am concerned. I have read them all (twice, they are that good!) and I await the next book in the series anxiously. You do want to read them in order though. They are definitely sequential.
I enjoy Nalini Singh’s writing and world’s she creates. I have to say I’m not falling in love with the Guild Hunter series like I did with her Psy-Changeling. Not sure why!! I am still very much enjoying this series, but it’s not as die hard must read and own the books as I am with the Psy-Changeling.
Archangel’s Legion is book six in the Guild Hunter series. It returns us to our main and first couple Elena and Raphael. We get to see how their relationship is developing and the changes that are happening physically, emotionally, and in the world.
Elena is young, very young for an Angel and the first that the Angels know of that is a Made Angel. She is Consort to Raphael and a Guild Hunter. We go a little deeper into her psyche and the trauma that her father Jeffery instilled in her and get see how this affects her. We also see her taking on more responsibility – that many did not think or feel she would take on yet. She learns new things about being a Consort and starts to realizing that her life is just as dangers, if not more now, then it every was. Last she is coming to understand her place next to Raphael and in the world. Their is still much more for both of them to learn.
As for Raphael he undergoes very few changes in this installment.
We get to revisit with Raphael’s Seven and learn more about them, especially Aodhan. I really liked the inside look into Aodhan and can’t wait for his story. Archangel’s Legion had a nice mix of old and new characters. Their is lots of action, adventure, new alliances made, and a war coming. Things are changing and some big surprises are introduced to the reader, especially at the end.
The only thing that I didn’t care for was all the sex. I don’t mind reading about sex in romance books, but I felt it was too much. Almost every chapter had Elena and Raphael getting it on or ending with them in bed.
Archangel’s Legion was a satisfying read. It tackles Elena and Raphael’s greatest fears and shows how the characters are developing. The pace is quick, the action is relentless, and it prepares us for change in the world.
Rated: 3.5 Stars
Raphael, in case you’re getting ideas—I won’t be this civilized if you decide you need a concubine. In fact, it’s a good bet I’ll turn homicidal.
He didn’t look up from his conversation with Astaad as he said, A pity, in that cool “Archangel” tone of his. I will now have to ask the pilot to empty the hold of my chosen females.
We’re going to have to talk about this new sense of humor of yours.
This would have had to be one of the funniest conversations between Raphael and Elena. I had tears running down my cheeks when I had read this. It just proves what a strong relationship the two of them have.
I love reading Nalini’s books, they just keep getting better and better.
This book would have to be my favourite so far. There was so much going on that it had me on edge the whole way through.
Some of the things that I really enjoyed:
-The changes happening to Raphael (The Legion) OMG!!!
-More background history for Aodhan (Sparkle) and Illium (Bluebell).
-The little crush Izak has on Elena.
-Interesting news about Vivek.
-We meet a new vampire Naasir, (what the heck is he )
Thanks Nalini for making another fantastic story for us to enjoy xx
3 stars – I liked it
Elena and Raphael are dealing with a new threat to their city – a vampire disease and an unknown force taking down angels. They must discover the source of these attacks before the city is destroyed.
This was an action packed one. Elena and Raphael are dealing with a vampire disease that is spread by blood. It was interesting seeing how the angels and vampires dealt with an epidemic like this and the steps they took to control the panic. They are also dealing with more effects of the cascade. It is causing new powers to emerge in all the archangels and Raphael is struggling to deal with the surges in his power.
I really enjoyed seeing Raphael and Elena work together to defeat the disease and their enemies in this one. They stood together and leaned on each other for strength when necessary. While I had issues with their relationship in the beginning, I am really liking them as a couple now. Elena is becoming a stronger consort with every passing day.
I really enjoyed the big battle at the end of this book. It really showed how effective of a leader Raphael and the Seven were. Also, it was just awesome to see how they utilized their abilities and used the resources they had to defend the city.
Another fast-paced instalment to this ongoing story and this time we are back again with Raphael and Elena. There’s a lot going on here as events around the city escalate.
First, we have the falling where angels drop from the sky followed by a vampire disease that kills its victims quickly.
Rivers turn red and strange events occur as the cascade builds in steam and an unknown enemy threatens the city.
There’s also an elusive power that threatens to overtake Raphael, Elena’s grounding of him the only thing bringing him back from the brink.
Raphael is evolving but it might not be fast enough to turn the tide of war to their advantage.
I also loved the inclusion of the Legion and can’t wait to learn more about these strange new additions.
It really brought an extra mysterious layer to everything.
Elena and Raphael are closer than ever but are still hitting slight stumbling blocks along the way.
Their make-up antics after these episodes were super intense and very hot these two have so much chemistry.
We get to dig deeper into certain characters and new players were added.
I’m sure that Tasha is going to pop up again somewhere in the future that angel has troublemaker written all over her at least Michaela is transparent in her games Tasha hides behind a pleasant persona, hiding her true intentions.
I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes next so many possibilities.
This series is such a real roller coaster ride and is one of my favourites.

With each book comes a new terror to face. I love, love, love this series so much! I don’t suggest reading these books out of order. There’s just so much that’s happened that will make the next in the series easier to understand.
This story focuses quite a bit on the trust between Raphael and Elena, but their love is ever growing strong! Raphael is also evolving and his new powers are in play and at a much needed time.
Michaela is still a conniving and vindictive bitch! I really hope Elena gets a chance to beat her ass! Enough said about that!!!
Most of all…The Legion has risen and I could not be more excited about them!
