Woo hoo! Another book that brings us back to Raphael and Elena. I was seriously stoked about this installment and I am pretty sure I devoured it in two sittings.
The Good:
It’s about Raphael and Elena! More emotional scenes about their devotion to each other as well as their people and more upon more about the world of the Cadre, angels, vampires and Guild Hunters.
Every single book so far has enhanced this amazing world and it’s a testament to Nalini Singh’s talent that I keep craving more!
Of course, the very best part was the growth and flaws in the relationship with Raphael and Elena that make it much more real to the reader.
The Bad:
Honestly, I want more. I want to know more about Raphael and Elena. The fact that he is so old and powerful and the world is on the eve of destruction half the time leads one to want more, demand more, and I don’t know a single reader who wants to wait for the next book!
5 stars!
O M G!!!! This is the BEST book I’ve read all year!! Nalini completely blew me away!! I could not put this book down! This is a MUST READ for anyone who loves a great, well-written story, sexy angels, and the continuing struggle between good and evil, power and destruction, and strength and sacrifice.
Great book, great author, great love, great everything! There was nothing about this book that I didn’t love. It was AMAZING!!

Audiobook, borrowed through the Audible romance package.
While I do really like the narrator, I can’t discern whether my problem with Raphael lies more in her voice for him or Singh’s writing. A lot of his lines are cheese central and feel immature for an immortal Archangel that’s centuries old.
Elena still kicks ass and I love pretty much everything about her.
The relationships between characters are complex and so real in this fantasy world. That’s one of my favorite things to see. Whether it’s lovers, friends, enemies, or family, the emotions feel spot on and those relationships bring some depth to the story. And they fill in those spots that might otherwise feel slow or like nothing is happening while readers are waiting on whatever the big action scene’s going to be.
Which, by the way, the main action scene was EPIC.
I really like all the books to this series.
I plan to reread the series I believe I may have missed a few books since I read this book.
I so totally enjoyed this book ! Nalini Singh is such an amazing writer ,she weaves this super cool worlds with such interesting characters that you can’t help but love these books 🙂
I loved getting to read more about Elena And Raphael ,seeing a new side to them and their relationship was great , i loved that Elena always stands up for herself ,i mean Raphael can be a little intimidating but that doesn’t stop her from making her self heard , i love that Raphael listens to Elena ,he doesn’t just decide everything for her even though all he wants to do is make sure she is safe ,they are 100 percent partners in this relationship that is new to both of them .
Loved seeing more of Aodhan, Illium & Naasir ! i am in love with all of the side characters and i can’t wait until they all get their own books !
This series is so freaking awesome and i highly recommend it to anyone who loves Angels ,Vampires & Badass characters 🙂
Nalini Singh is the best, her books pull you into another world. I cannot wait for the next one.
The Archangel series from Nalini Singh is a must read as far as I am concerned. I have read them all (twice, they are that good!) and I await the next book in the series anxiously. You do want to read them in order though. They are definitely sequential.
I enjoy Nalini Singh’s writing and world’s she creates. I have to say I’m not falling in love with the Guild Hunter series like I did with her Psy-Changeling. Not sure why!! I am still very much enjoying this series, but it’s not as die hard must read and own the books as I am with the Psy-Changeling.
Archangel’s Legion is book six in the Guild Hunter series. It returns us to our main and first couple Elena and Raphael. We get to see how their relationship is developing and the changes that are happening physically, emotionally, and in the world.
Elena is young, very young for an Angel and the first that the Angels know of that is a Made Angel. She is Consort to Raphael and a Guild Hunter. We go a little deeper into her psyche and the trauma that her father Jeffery instilled in her and get see how this affects her. We also see her taking on more responsibility – that many did not think or feel she would take on yet. She learns new things about being a Consort and starts to realizing that her life is just as dangers, if not more now, then it every was. Last she is coming to understand her place next to Raphael and in the world. Their is still much more for both of them to learn.
As for Raphael he undergoes very few changes in this installment.
We get to revisit with Raphael’s Seven and learn more about them, especially Aodhan. I really liked the inside look into Aodhan and can’t wait for his story. Archangel’s Legion had a nice mix of old and new characters. Their is lots of action, adventure, new alliances made, and a war coming. Things are changing and some big surprises are introduced to the reader, especially at the end.
The only thing that I didn’t care for was all the sex. I don’t mind reading about sex in romance books, but I felt it was too much. Almost every chapter had Elena and Raphael getting it on or ending with them in bed.
Archangel’s Legion was a satisfying read. It tackles Elena and Raphael’s greatest fears and shows how the characters are developing. The pace is quick, the action is relentless, and it prepares us for change in the world.
