An ancient and malevolent female immortal is rising in Manhattan to reclaim her son, the archangel Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena Deveraux, a vampire-hunter-and Raphael’s lover.Watch a Video
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the relationship that has blossomed between Raphael and Elena. They are the Ying to the others Yang. I was a little disappointed with the fight scene that had taken place as we had been building up from the beginning of the book to have this epic fight but no such luck. Other then that I thoroughly enjoy this and can’t wait to see what is to come for Raphael and Elena

3 stars – I liked it
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, archangel Raphael, are back in New York and are dealing with natural disasters and vampire attacks. It seems an ancient immortal is rising and it is unclear if they are sane or not.
This was a slower paced story for Elena and Raphael that revolves around family. Elena spends a lot of her time getting back into being a hunter and visiting her friends and sisters. I enjoyed seeing Elena get stronger with her fighting and flying skills. She is also dealing with her nightmares still and her PTSD from those days. Raphael is dealing with his own memories of his mother and his fear that if she awakens he might have to kill her.
I enjoyed this one because we see Elena and Raphael really working and relying on each other as a couple. They are leaning on each other during trying times and when they are overwhelmed with fear and sadness. They finally are starting to feel as an equal couple in the relationship, which was my issue with the previous two stories.
While not as action packed as previous stories, this one was definitely important for the continuation of the story and for Raphael and Elena’s relationship. It will be interesting to see how Caliane’s awakening will impact the overall story.

This is the third book in this series it again focuses on Elena and Raphael and takes place after the events in the previous book and back in New York.
Something is awakening a powerful Archangel whose been asleep for aeons.
Power fluctuations are affecting all regions angels and vampires acting out of character,
Vampires Committing crimes without their usual fear of reprisal even Raphael is affected luckily he has Elena to help ground him.
Elena’s enemies are still numerous and it seems she’s acquired a new one just on account of being Raphael’s consort.
Her awakening mother in law doesn’t approve of their bond and wants her gone.
This moved the story along nicely but was a tad slow in places. The finale more than made up for that though and was gripping and fast-paced.
For me it’s Raphael and Elena’s bond that is my favourite part of this story, it’s intense and this does impart I could feel the love and devotion between them so easily.
One thing though I don’t understand why Elena is so resistant to having Raphael’s seven guard her.
She’s not exactly got a good track record of calling for assistance until the end and she’s practically a breakable newborn compared to other angels.
I can definitely get why he wants her guarded and think it’s a bit arrogant and selfish of her to fight this as stubbornly as she does. Raphael would go on a rampage if she was hurt or god forbid killed.
Overall this series is fabulous and I’m really enjoying rereading this.
The world-building itself is so detailed and vivid and each book expands on this a little bit more.
Archangel’s Consort by Nalini Singh is the third book to Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series, and it’s just as addicting as the first two. If you haven’t started reading this series, I highly recommend you read them in order. If you don’t, you will miss out on reading Elena and Raphael’s relationship growing. I friggin’ love Elena and Raphael’s relationship even though Raphael can be a tad overbearing at times with his protection. Elena wants to be able to do her job as a Guild Hunter, but Raphael is a little weary on letting go without one of his Seven beings with her. She’s a new angel, and with that comes weaknesses that Elena needs to live with now. In Archangel’s Consort, Elena gets a chance to learn how to fly better, but she is still grasping onto her new life with the beautiful wings that are attached to her.
In this installment of the Guild Hunter series, Raphael’s mother is showing signs of awakening from being asleep for thousands of years. She wasn’t stable back in the day, and she most likely won’t be stable in the present. Raphael’s mother wants her son, but Raphael has to protect everyone else and may end up having to destroy the one person who made him.
It’s going to be an epic battle between mother, son, and others that get in between in Archangel’s Consort. Nalini knows how to keep the action going from each book she writes in this series, and I swear each book gets better and better when I’m reading them. I even loved the intimate moments between Raphael and Elena in this book because they have grown further together. Not everyone is on board with Elena and Raphael together, especially since she is his consort. Although, in my opinion, Raphael needs Elena even more now since his mother is about to show up. They complete each other and keep each other sane.
Many things come up in this book that brings to light about Elena’s past and her present. She is dealing with a lot still, and something comes forward that makes her realize how she became a Guild Hunter. Let’s say lots of shock moments in this installment that will keep you flipping the pages to find out even more shock moments. Ahhh! =)
I’m telling you Nalini has a way of sucking the reader in the story, which is why I’m moving right along to the next book in the series. I need more. I give this book five full moons and highly recommend it to PNR/UF readers out there.
This is one series that has now become a favorite, and I look forward to reading way more of this series. =)

This is a pretty addictive series. Raphael and Elena’s relationship is one of my favorite kind to read about. Raphael is the big, bad, I-can-kill-all, kind of Angel. Elena is no longer human but she is basically a baby Angel. While she’s one of the best vampire hunters, she’s still more weak and vulnerable in this supernatural world.
Raphael is still cold and distant but you can see his love for Elena very clearly. He is very protective of her and puts her above all others. She’s had fear of him in the beginning but that has never stopped herself from fighting back with him. She fell just as hard for him as he had for her. Addictive.
Each book seem to start right where the last one leaves off. In Archangel’s Consort, Raphael’s mom is waking from sleep and causing all kinds of havoc. They learn pretty quickly that she does not approve of Elena. Typical mother-in-law right there. Caliane was already considered mad before she disappeared and now she will be even stronger. Raphael must make a choice about whether she should live or die.

I was again thrilled beyond measure that the series continues with Raphael and Elena. I won’t repeat the happiness I felt at it.
The Good:
As before the love and passion between Raphael and Elena keep me going in this book, but I’ve already gone on and on about that during book two’s review. So I’m going to point out the fact that Nalini Singh also kept me guessing throughout this one as to whether or not it WAS Raphael’s mother rising or what was going on. They hinted it, then they hinted it wasn’t, then again it was, and so on. So by the time everything came together you had no idea what was going on. Made finishing this novel a must!
The Bad:
As always, not much other than I really, really wanted more!
5 stars once again!

Audiobook, borrowed through the Audible romance package.
This is the third book in the Guild Hunter series, and it’s still following Elena and Raphael’s relationship and the trials Elena’s facing as a newly made angel. I’ve already begun listening to book four, which doesn’t seem to be following Elena and Raphael.
I think I was much more fond of the previous book than this one. There was a lot of information given in book two about all of the characters, and there wasn’t that much new given out in this book. Consort was an enjoyable read, just a smidgen of a letdown after book two. And I found Raphael and some of the lines he said repetitive and cheesy.
Most of the action doesn’t happen until the end, and the book reads very paranormal mystery – if that makes any sense. Not my favorite in the series, but still an enjoyable read.

This series just gets better and better with every book. Elena and Raphael are becoming one of my favorite book couples.
Archangel’s Consort takes you through the ups and downs on what happens when an Archangel and a (former) mortal try to make it work.

This book is about Elena and Raphael dealing with an Ancient awakens. Dealing with the weather chances from the awaken as well as the other things from this too. Raphael thinks it is his mother that is awakening so he has to deal with the nightmares. Elena tells Raphael that they will deal with it together. Elena has nightmares from when her mother and sisters died when she was young she had killed the thing that killed her family. Elena has to hunt in this book for a vampire that hurt young girls that was at the local girl school where your step sisters goes. But now it would be time to buy the book to see what happens. I will be getting the other books from this author.

~ 3 Archangel’s Consort Stars ~
Archangel’s Consort is book three in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.
Archangel’s Consort was not as engaging as the previous two. It felt a little slow, not as action packed, and the build up for the ending turned out to be rather disappointing. Their where also a little to many sex scenes which lead to some boredom, not because they weren’t hot or written well, they where; just that their was too many of them.
As for the Ancient who is awakening. I was expecting a little more on this front. We get a lot of build up along the way and a confrontation at the end, but it was acutely rather small and anticlimactic.
I do like how the relationship between Elena and Raphael is developing. It’s not an easy perfect relationship, they argue and have disagreements, but they always find a way to resolve or make a compromise. I like this, how it shows that although they love each other it doesn’t automatically make it perfect and easy.
Elena is also learning to navigate the world of angels and vampires. She is doing her best to get up to speed and become stronger. Raphael’s character is becoming more “mortal” rather then an arrogant archangel. I like how the author is giving us more on both Elena and Raphael showing the changes they are going threw as they evolve/develop.
The world building is spectacular and I am in LOVE with the Seven. We get more of the Seven. They are mysterious, sexy, and lethal. Their are so many questions about them and hopeful we will get their stories one day. The character development is amazing with the district personalities and realistic dialogue. We also explore the immortality, though it’s highly sought after, it’s not always everything.
Archangel’s Consort wasn’t what I have come to expect and love from Singh, but it was still worth reading. This is still one of my favorite series and I can’t wait to pick up the next book.
