Very different technically super advanced world to enter. A lot to understand and follow. A world of augmented human robot characters and even more advanced aliens, mixed in with 1960 world human colonists. ..
I am surprised that I liked this book. It was an interesting journey. I can’t wait to see what is in the next book.
you’d think humans would have evolved by this time, good story
It’s a combination of butt-kicking characters with some romantic tension. The larger scope of a planet ruled by a religious order is uncomfortable, but not unprecedented in human history on a smaller scale.
I am happy to read good entertainment without graphic sex and foul language. Too many times I have become engrossed
into a book that suddenly veers into unacceptable lanuage or things better left private. Looking forward to next book in Archangel series.
This series starts with Archangel Down, but the entire series including the short story “Carl Sagens search for intelligent life in the Universe” are great. The stories are witty, and funny while dealing with the issues of religion, free will, and what constitutes life. A fun and entertaining read, along with some thought.
Join the heroine in a “concentration camp” prison. Plotting escape that is impossible. To help her is a stranger, neither have ever met. The story is fast, one escape to the next battle, and on. Always on the run and always a mystery is hinted at.
This is a well written story that young adults and adults can enjoy. You don’t know if this will end with Noa back in the “re-education” camp, dead, or safe until the last.
I couldn’t put the book down. Then, when I finished it, it was so good that I had to buy the rest of the books in the series!
It is a very good self-published scifi novel, with interesting concepts. Also, there is a mystery in the series that hopefully will be answered later in the series.
found it kind of weird and a bit 1984 ish but set in the future
If I read it, it was excellent !!!!! I READ IT. JAK, jr.
An excellent example of pure Space Opera. A deeply engrossing book awesome story well-developed characters not too many plot twists which in this type of story I enjoy. Plot twist your fun but sometimes I find them to be a device to cover up weakness in the prime story. This author is not only a well practiced and professional writer but also a composer and publisher I think of anthologies..
There are 3 of these and were definitely worth reading.
This is a good science fiction novel (as opposed to fantasy). I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Noa Sato is a strong character, as would be expected of a Starship captain. James Sinclair (or is he Timothy Anderson?) is an enigma. He rescues Noa during her escape from prison, but he is also on the run. In their desperate flight from the fanatics who are taking over Luddeccea and intent on killing everyone opposed to them, they get to know each other better. James is drawn to Noa, feeling the urge to protect and help her, despite his better judgment. But he doesn’t know why. Noa needs to alert Fleet to the take-over, so they look for the resistance, find Ghost, and get help – or are they being setup? Noa gets help from her feisty relative, Eliza, and her companion robot, 6T9. Things get more intense through the end of the book.
Good novel; well-explored consequences of its premise; does NOT stand alone.
This is the first in a series of three books. It is engrossing and addictive, and I loved the characters. I highly recommend!
EXcellent read!
Great read!!!
Original plot.
The dark beginning for the main character created incentive to focus on one thing- survival. Through out the book the author has plot twists to test the problem solving skills of the assembled team.
