He dreams of a 24/7 relationship with her, but all she has to give is a one-night stand.Paula Stone is a decorated officer in the Kansas City Police Department. Succeeding in the testosterone-filled environment means everything to her. She married young, to a fellow police academy recruit, but has been divorced for several years because he couldn’t handle her success. Her marriage led her to … her to prefer brief encounters to satisfy her physical needs and she’s decided she’ll never date another cop.
Jim Cagney is one of the youngest detectives in the Drug Interdiction Unit. After five years in the military and two tours in Iraq, he’s been back in Kansas City for six years. During his recovery from the horrors of the war, he discovered the beauty of dominance and submission. Living in a 24/7 TPE relationship gave him back the control he lost on the battlefield. It’s been almost a year since he uncollared his submissive, and he’s ready to move on.
As Paula gets to know Jim more and more, she starts to appreciate both him and the pleasures he gives. Will she ever be able to fully submit to the kind of lifestyle he represents, though?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy contemporary romance contains elements of power exchange. While it is part of the Club Indigo series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

This is book three of the Club Indigo series. You don’t have to read the first two books to enjoy this one, but this book is built upon the others and to enjoy the series the most, you should read the others as well.
This is Jim and Paula’s story. Paula is very vanilla and Jim is a Dom who is also a Master. They spend one night together after a wedding and Jim would like a relationship with Paula, but he wants it on his terms. Paula is submissive, but has no real experience or desire for this lifestyle other than what she has been exposed to by her friends. She agrees to try the lifestyle.
This book does a great job explaining the lifestyle as Jim educates Paula. And, of course, we continue to visit the relationships from the first two books. I give this book 5 stars and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Would you believe this is Karen Nappa’s third story? This club is growing to be one of my favorites, and i want to live there! Sign me up,will you? Please?
The members of this growing family of friends are all great, and i love how they look after eachother.
Paula and Jim both work at the Kansas City police department. She’s divorced, because her ex couldn’t deal with her succes. He uncollared his submissive some time ago,and longs for a woman that can fulfill his dominant needs. Even though Paula is older,he’s wanted her from the moment he saw her. Finding out she’s submissive makes her even more enticing. But Paula has a distorted view on BDSM,as well as an aversion of having an affair with a colleague. After convincing her to at least try the BDSM,Jim hopes it’ll grow into a lasting relationship. But after misunderstandings shortly into their relationship,Paula ends it. Will Jim be able to get her back? Can he convince her to trust him with her heart?
I loved their story, and i loved seeing the others again. And….i loved the fact that Josh gets what he needs,a caring, loving family!
Can’t wait to hear more of Club Indigo! This series is getting better and better, and i love it!
This is Paula and Jim’s story. it was a very informative story about the BDSM D/s lifestyle and how these two come together to make it work. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters as well as revisiting the Club and all their friends. A very good read!
Appreciated by Karen Nappa is a wonderful story that I have loved reading. This is book number three in this wonderful series that is writen by a brand new author for me to read. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about contemporary and erotic romances in their stories.

Paula is known as Haagen Dazs because the officers in her squad thinks she’s cold or gay. She is older than Jim, she is insecure in their relationship, she is new to BDSM but a natural submissive. Jim is a patient younger man who knows what he wants in a relationship, he is a Dom, he recognizes the submissive in Paula. I love how Jim guides Paula into accepting him and accepting his lifestyle. A good romance with drama.

This is my first time reading this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. For a change this is am older woman and a younger male. The male, Jim wants his co-worker Paula to be his sub, she knows nothing about the lifestyle. This leads to some interesting scenes as he educates Paula about what he expects from a Dom/sub relationship. These two have wonderful chemistry but they also have very demanding jobs as both are police officers, added to that Paula has some trust issues and you have a wonderful story to read!

I loved this installment of the Club Indigo series! Paula is focused on being a good detective with a rule against cops. Jim is focused on helping Paula realize her submissive side. His plans to change her “love him, leave him” attitude into an all the time “yes, Sir” one provide for a great read that I could not put down!

This is the first book I’ve read of this series. I love a story with a strong alpha male and a submissive woman who can hold her own. Jim and Paula added just the right combination of BDSM romance and steamy sex. I’ll have to go back and meet the other couples that were in this story. Why people think age makes a difference is beyond me. Usually it’s an older male with a younger women. This time it was switched. Loved the dynamics. Ice cream or ice queen?
Paula and Jim’s story was interesting both are police officers and both are dedicated to their job. Yet both have some interest in dominance and submission. Paula feeling about the issue was mixed and there is the fact that Jim is younger and they work together. What I like is how the author wrote the growth of the character she has allows the characters time to develop excellent writing. This was a very engaging and entertaining book I really liked it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. Oh, I loved the prologue for adored!
Can We Make it Work?
Kansas City Police Officer Paula Stone swears she will never date another cop again. She has been divorced for several years now since her husband couldn’t handle her success as a decorated police officer.
Jim Cagney is in the drug unit and in the group of the youngest detectives, and he is ready to move on now. Since it has nearly been an entire year since he released his last submissive. He also has lots of baggage, two tours to Iraq, five years in the military and only been back to Kansas City for six years.
Paula starts to appreciate Jim more and more but can she submit to him and live this kind of lifestyle? Will she give him a chance? Can they find a way they both can be happy for the rest of their lives?

This is the third in what is rapidly becoming one of my favorite series, and Appreciated takes us back to Club Indigo, this time with the adorably named Jimmy Cagney as the Dom of the moment. In the acknowledgements, the authors say that there is some Paula in each of them – there’s a lot of Paula in me and her housekeeping issues really spoke to me! In many ways, this book talks the reader through the lifestyle, what it means, what it isn’t, why a contract, the lack of rigidity in types of lifestyle, and all of this is woven into a story that is full of heart and full of heat, and that leaves you in a better space after reading it than you were before. We also get to meet up again with Laura and James, and Connor and Suzie, the couples from books 1 and 2, but in a way that a first-time reader would not feel lost. The blurb has the basics of the story, but this book is so much more than that, and it never disappoints. Some stiltedness in the dialogue has been ironed out too – these books keep getting better and better.

Since this is book 3 in the series, & I’ve read (& enjoyed) the others, I wanted to read this book even though the blurb didn’t really grab me. I’m pleased to say that I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed it. This story focuses on Paula & the younger Jim, both characters that have been introduced in the previous books. I just loved the dynamic between these 2 characters right from the start. I liked that the story takes place over time & isn’t just an instalove. I also really loved the smaller plot line involving James & Laura from book 1. I will admit – there were tears. I can’t see myself getting sick of this author anytime soon.
Book three in the Club Indigo series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone, but the secondary characters and storylines are the same throughout the series. I did not read the first two books in the series and I had no trouble following, but there is a large friend group through the BDSM club Indigo that is also included in this book. I liked how Jim taught Paula about D/s relationships and was patient with her apprehension. I did not like how long their separation was and the lack of communication that caused it. He pursued her at the beginning but then let her leave without a conversation. In the end they were both able to get what they needed from their D/s relationship!
