Brooklyn Myers, Esquire. The name alone made me hard. Dressed in cheap bargain suits, she still was a knockout. Amber eyes that call to me like none other. I should have ignored her. I wasn’t ready for the promise of simply her. I claimed her anyway, even if I never meant to keep her.
This is part two of a two parter. Still in love with Lucas Black. Good storyline. Like book 1, Hailey does a nice job of keeping you entertained and wanting more. There’s more to the story than just romance and sex.
Hum ? I really Don’t know where to start as I had a lot of mixed feeling about this current story.I think my problem stems from the fact that I just did not like the main characters.Lucas Black was a total a -hole, man whore and douche for sure and the whole alpha thing can be hot but, normally when you have a love hate relationship with a character you find something redeemable about the character and that just did not happen for me. Brooklyn I found her to act like a child most of the time as she new full well in good what type of man Lucas Black was before she even entered his bed.Brooklyn assertiveness was jut not going to work in this kind of relationship as Lucas was a total alpha who always needed to be in control and in reality it should have been defined as a Dom/Sub Relationship. Brooklyn calling him Baby just did not work either it just didn’t fit his personality. All this being said I think I need to read book one as somehow I must have missed the beginning of their story and might get a different take on them.
On a positive note Hayley knows how to write some really hot books and sex scenes that has a girl blushing and fanning herself.I did love the fact that Brooklyn was the one to succeed when all others failed just by being herself the down to earth girl she was. Brooklyn’s life with Lucas will never be dull as they had some scorching chemistry together and it was hot as hell.
Overall I didn’t love the story but, I didn’t hate it either but , something just didn’t work for me and I can’t put my finger on it yet but, I just think that it is the fact that I didn’t fall in love with the characters so it just makes this a hot and okay read for us.We can’t love them all but, Hayley works are still some of our favorites.
Oh my god the second part of this duet is just wow. Have to say Lucas just blew me away in this second part. I loved that in the beginning he was all about just sex but with Brooklyn he shows us much more. The chemistry and the the threat on her life just gets exciting in each chapter between them. All in all Hayley Faiman just rocked with these two from their denying the chemistry to a full on life changing feelings between these two. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I would highly suggest reading this series in order. Grab a bottle of wine, or two, find a cozy spot on the couch or in bed, and read them both back to back would be an even bigger suggestion.
I absolutely LOVED this series and these characters.
Sure, Lucas Black is a jerk. But damn, when it comes to him with Brooklyn, there is no denying these two are fantastical together. The intimate scenes with them together were sooo delicious and good. It made me forget all about the stupid crap that may have come from his mouth just a few pages before or after.
Brooklyn is an amazing character and this was highlighted in this book of the series. She doesn’t give up and obviously has a heart of gold that is huge. She’s been one of my favorite recent characters that I have come across in a book. For as ridiculous as things may have gotten between them from book 1 to 2, I STILL wanted them together. I STILL rooted for Lucas to get his act together and not give up on getting Brooklyn.
Super great series! Loved it! Read it folks!
I loved this conclusion to this duet! Lucas and Brooklyn made some discoveries both individually and together along the way. Lucas is definitely an alpha-hole but the transformation he undergoes leaves me speechless. Brooklyn compliments Lucas perfectly. She is sweet while not being a doormat. Will Lucas see, really see, Brooklyn before he loses her? I can’t wait for the next adventure this author takes us on!!
I was anxious to find out what would happen between Lucas and Brooklyn! This book picks right up where Discovery left off. The air of danger/mystery in this book was one that had me holding my breath, waiting for the next bad thing to happen. This story had plenty of ups and downs and had me wondering what’s next!? Lucas is a changed man because of Brooklyn. I enjoyed seeing his family and how kind they are. Lucas might be ruthless as a lawyer, but his family and Brooklyn bring out another side of him. I enjoyed the twists and turns this book had and I didn’t want to put it down! I was lost in their world and I recommend this series!
Appeal was just as amazing as Discovery it’s book two in the Esquire Black Duet and can’t be read as a standalone you need to read in order . With the way book one ended it just had me wanting more I wanted to know what the hero really did and if the heroine was ok after what happened . I don’t want to give much away you really need to read this duet it was supper steamy with intense sex scenes and the characters were likable even the hero . If this is the first your hearing about Hayley Faiman you need to one click her stories as soon as possible you don’t want to miss any one of them .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

This duet has to be one of my all time favorites. I was left with my mouth hanging open and tears pouring down my face absolutely NEEDING to get my hands on Appeal after I finished Discovery. And let me tell you, Appeal was entirely worth the wait. Hayley Faiman continues to deliver and epic story in this second half.
Picking up immediately where Discovery left off I was thrown right back on Lucas and Brooklyn’s emotional roller coaster and completely glued to the pages. There was no prying me away from this book once I opened it. The emotions get higher, the suspense has your heart racing, the heat gets more intense and the romance hits out of this world amazing levels.
Just like with the first half of this duet I don’t think I’ve ever hate/loved a character the way I do Lucas. He made me want to throttle him and then hug him. He’s a seriously addictive man. You aren’t going to get any sugary sweetness out of him, but honestly I think that makes his love for Brooklyn feel all the more powerful. I was almost sad when I got to the (amazing) end of this because I honestly did not want to leave these characters.
5 Stars
Book 2 has me nursing a book hangover like I haven’t had in awhile! We pick up exactly where we left off and already holding our breath! The number of times you will gasp, stop breathing (temporarily of course), and feel so deeply throughout this book is too often to count! Lucas and Brooklyn are one of the hottest couples I have ever read. This half of the duet is full of intensity, suspense, sweetness, and enough heat that you expect your tablet to catch fire while reading! So if it wasn’t obvious, I absolutely LOVE this Duet and hope we get to see more from the Black family!
