This is an amazing series. I’ve read every book and there is so much excitement, suspense, adventure, death, and fighting evil. Aviella and her twelve are fighting the battle for the lives around them and all those souls still living on earth. This is the darkest hour and their bond will make them the strongest they have ever been. I couldn’t put the book down. Page turning engrossing series. I will let you read this series to see who wins the battle between good and evil. I love this authors books. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rafe faces Admodeus as lesser demons gather around. He knows Asmodeus has a temper and uses that to anger him into drawing a huge sword. But he’s not a good swordsman and his moves are telegraphed easily as Rafe keeps out of its range until he closes in and punches him in the throat. Taking advantage of the distraction, he pulls in more magic than his form can hold and takes on his true form he was forced into after the Fall — black bat wings, elongated jaw, claw-like appendages. He rips time and space as he makes a final effort to get back to Aviella. He pulls the fabric of reality, pouring magic into his arms and hands enhancing his strength and fueling the spell. This is not supposed to be done and will leave him drained when he gets to the other side and hopefully finds help. But he finds Aviella, face swollen and bruised, hanging from a structure, about to be sacrificed by the followers of the False Prophet! Casmir, the last of the Horsemen, turns, and now that his job is finished, he is able to do whatever he wants. Within his eyes, Rafe sees the Shadow’s mark, and a net drops over his wings, pulled tight by the crowd. Nate hovers high above and tears fall down his face; he can’t stop this. And the mob starts breaking all of the bones in his body! Will the dragons — Tynan, Alaric, and Shen – come and stop this? But Aviella screams that she forgives them as the trumpet sounds and time itself is torn apart.
Tynan had almost reached her when the door between past and future was unhinged, the past and the now mingled, but he can’t get to her – then the loop resets and he is trying again, over and over! But he sees each reset as a chance not to fail!
Silas moans over how wrong his prediction of the chain of events was! What happened? He has never been wrong like this! He reaches for his magic, but the cold iron around his neck keeps it locked away. Then he notices they are repeating this again. The Trumpet destroys time itself, tearing creation apart only to reform it over and over. There has to be a way to save her!
Gavin reaches out to Ronan and their power links. The mages are combining power in a circle. Ronan grabs Killian, then Luca. With each loop, they hold everyone back from the forward motion toward Aviella – not strong enough yet. They grab Rowan and soothe her with magic as she struggles. Needing still more power, Gavin reaches to Tynan despite protests, inviting him and his brothers to join the circle – this is their last chance. He approaches Casmir, demanding he stop this, blasting him with dragon fire and adding the mages’ power; yet he remains standing and calmly tells them she is gone! Is this really over? Is there nothing else that can be done to save Aviella and the world?
This is such a powerful, emotional story line that pulls the reader in and just won’t let go. Every page will keep the reader mesmerized and feeling how desperate the others are to save Aviella. Grab your copy – be well rested before you begin to read. It won’t slow down! Is any hope left . . .
