Wow! Just wow! This is the third book I have read by Stuart James and the best so far.
Meagan spent her childhood watching the cruel and horrific abuse her mother suffered at the hands of her father and now endures the same abuse at the hands of her husband. Oliver is recovering from a recent break up. When the two meet the consequences will be shocking!
This is a dark, haunting, tense and twisted tale that grabs you and pulls you in right from the very beginning. The story line was great and will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first chapter. The characters of Oliver and Meagan were very well developed The past and present were woven together perfectly and the ending was totally twisted and completely unexpected.
Apartment Six is not for the faint of heart. So if you are easily upset by abuse in its variety of forms then this will probably not be a book for you. But if you are strong enough to handle that type of subject… this book is insanely intense, riveting, and very hard to put down. I promise you this…at least once your jaw will be on the ground from shock.
Apartment Six is written by Stuart James and I must say that he is an author to watch! His books are absolutely riveting from beginning to end and will shock you. He presents you with a character or situation that looks and seems so innocent, but then he flips it all on its head and leaves you breathless and on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.
The author introduces readers to a young woman by the name of Meagan. The author starts with Meagan as a small child, and then fast forwards to when she is an adult. Meagan has had a rough life and it all began with her childhood. She saw things she should never have seen and experienced things that no child should have to go through. It shapes her, but all is not what it seems. Meagan has decided that she’s had enough and she wants out…but not in the customary way…instead of leaving her marriage she wants her husband dead. Now she needs help carrying it out.
This book is so intense that it gave me anxiety in certain scenes. As the author takes readers back before the phone call that changed Meagan’s life we see how her childhood played out. My heart broke at the things that her mother suffered and how Meagan was forced to witness the abuse. The cruelty of her father was hard to comprehend, but when the way that her mother continuously tried to protect her daughter…it honestly left me a bit of a mess being a mother myself.
I’ll admit that Meagan began to get on my nerves when things begin to progress with Oliver. While the pieces of the puzzle were coming together, the picture wasn’t making sense. But trust me when I say this…the twist that comes…it’s HUGE! My jaw dropped and I could barely believe what was going on. The author does an excellent job with this story that I honestly didn’t see the twists coming.
If you love psychological thrillers with more twists than a backwoods road then this book is a must-read! It will leave you in shock long after the story is done. While reading it will keep you on the edge of your seat as you page-turn to learn what will happen next. This book has more than earned the right of having 5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait for the next book that this author writes.
I just finished an incredible psychological thriller Apt 6 by author Stuart James. This story starts out with five year old Meagan (Meggy) who witnesses the death of her Mom by her Father making a call to 999 emergency. Fast forward 20 years and Meagan herself has found herself in the same type of abusive marriage with Rob without any way out, so she thinks until she meets Oliver on the train. Having been drawn into these characters lives now, you will feel heartache and hope as this story evolves and it doesn’t stop until the very last word. Experience the twists and the cliffhanger in this fantastic story.
Once you start reading this book you will not be able to put it down!
