Apache Dawn is a high octane military thriller for fans of post-apocalyptic action.

A fast moving, military thriller/science fiction novel by a new writer. It is not that far-fetched from what could happen given the events of today with the rogue regimes in North Korea and Iran. Well worth the read.
I am a voracious reader; and I read many different genres. I was in the mood for an exciting , dystopian story line. Boy O Boy, did I get it with Richardson’s Apache Dawn. Best of all, there are no Zombies!!! I’m only half-way through the novel; and I’ve already decided to buy the rest of The Wildfire Saga. The main characters are believable. I found myself cheering for the good guys, crying at the horrific events, and going off on the politicians. No Spoilers here.
I like the way the author keeps the action at top speed, by switching to the various view points of the main characters. There are Navy Seals, Army Rangers, as well as, everyday Americans, just trying to survive an invasion. If I were to find myself in this scenario, I think I have the same thought and actions as these people. The scariest aspect of the plot is that given a few changes in our own political circus, I could see it happening today.
There’s even a budding attraction between one of the military men and a nurse. I’m so glad that, so far, it is tastefully handled. I get tired of the novels that start ruining a good story line with waaaay too explicit sex scenes. Even the idiot bad guy (really don’t want spoilers) and the spy don’t go into too much intimate detail. By the way, the idiot bad guy is being controlled by a mysterious individual, he who only contacts him by phone. The mystery man appears to have contacts all over the world.
Like I said, I have not finished Apache Dawn, but couldn’t wait to let everyone know what a great read it is. If you like LOTS of thrilling action, with heroic efforts on the part of the well imagined characters, this is the read for you.
I made the mistake of using this book as potty-plop. Big mistake! my legs are almost useless from extended sitting and reading this “can’t stop reading” book. I found it extremely hard to put it down. Very exciting and believable plot. Can’t wait to get the second book in the series.
good read bt predictable
A unique series in the zombie series genres
I stopped reading it after 20 pages
Good story and concept. Unfortunately, the needless reactionary ideology distracted from the quality. It is not always present, but increased toward the end, leading me to stop reading. Author needs to give up the political posturing as it really takes away from the otherwise good writing.
A well Written book. Good characters and an interesting premise. MY problem is the authors twisted political viewpoints creeping into the story and blaming all the worlds problems on one group of people. Perhaps he knows his readers better than I do.
Still, I enjoyed the book. saving up for the next book in the series. Pricey.
The book is great. Very exciting with lots of military action and intrigue. The North Korea invasion is top notch and the Ranger and SEAL and Special Forces action and reactions make for a surefire “page-turner”. I also liked how each chapter followed a separate character in the story without loosing the flow of their plot. WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE was how the leader of the USA defense force kept losing focus in the middle of these intense bullet/rocket/sniper/missiles fire fights, only to “dreamy drool” over the physical delights of a female doctor in the groups of civilians he and his forces were protecting and trying to get out of the fire-zone. He lost a lot of credibility with me for that constant break in focus and discipline. It just isn’t how a highly trained special forces leader would act. I feel the author let the ball drop with this little “plot twist” That’s too bad because it bought the star rating down on a very good story. I will continue to read this author and have already downloaded to my Kindle the second book in the series as the thrill and excitement or the story and the fire fights make it worth reading.
bad language
Fun to read but not realistic.
Made me think Prident Trump meets the Manchurian Candidate.
700-plus pages really fly by! Much better than most of the post-apocalyptic tales I’ve read! Absolkutely loved it!
Good book with a possible future based on current events
Interested me enough to buy the next book in the series.
This isn’t my usual genre, but I found it a compelling read.
leaves you hanging at the end. Every character has a cliffhanger and you will have to buy the series.
The action was great and kept me reading. The political game playing was a bit unbelievable.
Loved this whole series.
Excellent read! Good military detail. Highly recommend this book.
