Meka James Anything Once is much more than an erotic romance. Don’t let the cover fool you.
That being said, I do really love that cover. It’s stunning. This is the first book I’m reading from the author and I must admit, I really liked it. Especially, loved her writing style.
Anything Once focuses on a married couple Ian and Quinn, who are childless. Being married to Ian for over 10 years, Quinn thinks their relationship is going strong and steady, until she walks into Ian masturbating while watching porn. Self doubt and insecurities suddenly spread their ugly tentacles in her mind as she wonders what was wrong with their relationship.
Fortunately, Quinn after two weeks of silence, take that step to reach her husband and ask what she missed all along. Together they decide to explore their sexual life and the rest is for the readers to find out.
I love how the author captured the essence of relationships. She has addressed one of the important fact most of the married couples go through after a few years of their marriage.
The initial bliss of married life tends to get lost with how busy our lives are and when children and other responsibilities come along, many just go with the flow while struggling to catch up. Some couple stop to think what they’ve been missing and try to reignite the passion.
If you’re in a relationship for so long and feel it’s time to reignite that passion this book is definitely for you. It addresses the concern and I’m glad the characters have a positive approach toward the issue and I love how understanding they are with each other. Another thing I liked is the approach on women’s self doubt and hesitation to explore certain things in their sexual life.
It’s definitely worth the read. I’m looking forward to read more from this author. Cheers. Anything Once
ANYTHING ONCE by Meka James is a wonderful story that grabs you from the go. Unlike most romance novels, at the start of the book Quinn and Ian have been married for ten years. They’ve had their happily ever after. But after Quinn catches Ian watching porn on his computer, she starts to question everything about their marriage and the man she thought she knew. Ian loves Quinn, that is always clear, and is happy in the marriage, but certainly would be open to trying new things, if Quinn were comfortable.
This is really Quinn’s story, as she explores her sexuality, and the limits of what she’s willing and unwilling to do, with her soulmate. The couple must also come to terms with a fertility issue they’ve struggled with. Quinn’s emotions as she deals with this new curveball in her marriage are written perfectly by Ms. James. My favorite aspect of ANYTHING ONCE is how Ian and Quinn are committed and dedicated to each other and honest about their feelings, once they decide to explore their sex life a bit. I also loved Quinn’s relationship with her bestie, Evie. We all need a friend like Evie!
ANYTHING ONCE is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Warning: Keep a fan nearby, because these steamy sex scenes will make you flush! Highly recommended for those who enjoy a sexy, erotic romance.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
Meka James is a new to me author. But not for long. I loved her writing style and the characters were so believable.
Quinn and Ian have been together for 12 years. Quinn thought that her marriage was solid and Ian was happy. They have had some ups and downs but she never felt there were issues in her relationship until she comes home one night from a girls night out and finds Ian in his office watching porn. She was stricken and he was ashamed. after two weeks of avoidance, Quinn confronts him and they discuss the issue. He tells her he loves her the same but just needed a bit more than their missionary type lovemaking but he would never cheat. She starts looking at some porn and decides to try a few things to spice up their marriage and after a big discussion of his fantasies, she tells him she will try most anything once.
Though the book is very sexually oriented it isn’t pornish at all. It is about an established couple that their relationship has gotten complacent and they try to spice things up. It also deals with infertility and the effects not only on the woman but the man as well.
This story is so well written. It touches your heart but is not safe for work or public since it is smoking hot!
This book is so realistic its nor funny. It understandable to make sure your spouse is happy as long as you know what they want. She didnt look at what he wanted out of their sex life because of her own hangups. Its a shame that communication about this is not discussed. It would save a lot of marriages. Very good read on this subject. Entertained and educated at the same time.

A steamy read as a married couple find out that they have kept secrets from the other. Quinn and Ian still love each other but held back parts of themselves. This story showed that changing things up in a marriage can bring life back to the relationship. I loved the exploration as well as how far this couple went to make the other happy. This is what marriage is about.
I received an ARC through Enticing Journey Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Quinn and her hubby, Ian, have been married happily for ten years. When she walks in and finds Ian in a position she never thought to see, she realizes that maybe their marriage isn’t as happy as she thought it was. Now, after ten years the two have to have a conversation that should have happened a very long time ago. Opening the lines of communication is harder than Quinn thought it would be, but for her marriage she is willing to try anything. Will the two be able to fix what they didn’t know was broken?
So… I am on the fence with this story. While at one point I can relate to Quinn, I found some of her issues to be just ridiculous. But I had to remind myself that there are naïve people still out there, that after years of marriage still do missionary on a regular. (Not that there is anything wrong with missionary) This is indeed a very steamy read, that is full of drama. I wish there had been a better ending, I was waiting for loose ends to be tied up and they weren’t really. I give this 3.5 stars.
I know you hear this but this definitely needs more than 5 stars. I was so very touched by this story. I really enjoyed how mature the characters were. The story matter is touching and sad and heartwarming all at the same time. Infertility is a struggle many have to deal with and this didn’t just gloss over it but you felt the loss. I LOVED how the author dealt with the fears and insecurities Ian and especially Quinn felt. The loving and sensual way they tried new things and the inner growth Quinn dealt with in her sexuality. I was jealous of how open and willing each partner was with each other. Nicely written and loving done.

LORDY…… LORDY…… SWEET BABY JESUS!!!!!!! This story really hit home for me in so many ways I just couldn’t put it down. First I loved it because it was an older couple that was married and had been married for years. They loved one another and would do anything for each other. They also had a healthy sex life with no cheating and no one else coming in the middle of their marriage. That I give Meka mad kudos for because it usually ends up with cheating and I really hate that. This was more real life than any other book I have read in a long time and that is saying something because I read like a crazy woman two or three books a day if I can manage it through everything I have to do.
Quinn and Ian have a wonderful marriage and life. Things are going good until one day Quinn finds Ian watching Porn. She is shocked then she is hurt because she thought everything was good between them but she must have missed something. Worries and insecurities war in Quinn’s heart and mind and she decides to talk to Ian and have a heart to heart with him. Lay it all on the line to find out what she did wrong and how they can get past this situation. They both know that communication is the key here and if they can have that they can work through anything.
After they are done talking there is one question that Ian has for Quinn and that is are you willing to put yourself out there and try anything. This is where the rubber meets the rode and Quinn will either have to say yes and have a happy life with Ian or she can say no and their marriage end. What will Quinn choose for her and Ian? Amazing story that is a MUST READ!!!!!!!!!
This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. This is a well thought out plot, and it is a unique and refreshing chance to have a story about a couple who have been married for 12 years, and as with most marriages, life has a habit of getting in the way and issues and communication or rather lack off, can be swept under the carpet. I loved how Quinn and Ian worked through their communication issues, and opened their minds to different prospective to sex and porn. This is a well written story, which is steamy, sexy, and an all round entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and recommend her work for all.
This was my first story by Meka James, but it won’t be my last. I adored Anything Once. First, I loved that the couple was already married. This is a little uncommon with romance stories, as the focus is on how the two main characters overcome odds to be in a long-term relationship. However, with this story, the conflict was within the marriage, and it played out very well.
The pace was perfect, and their issues realistic. I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I loved the mix of sweet and steam. They were both great people, with flaws and faults, but their love was strong and brought out the best in each other. I won’t say more as I don’t want to give away any spoilers.
If you love steamy contemporary romances, this story is for you!
Such a steamy and delightful established romance!! I couldn’t get enough of Quinn and Ian. Their relationship was enviable. Despite facing so many challenges in their marriage, they remained true and loving to one another. The conflict in this story is realistic, and the characters respond in a relatable fashion. There need to be more established romances out there that hit the nail so solidly on the head. Thank you to Ms. James for bringing such a shining star to the genre!
This week’s review finds us delving into an established romance written by one of my favorite erotic authors, Meka James. Anything Once, from Limitless Publishing, is a tasty look into the life of a married couple facing real life problems… and hot, sizzlin’ sexual explorations. As always, Ms. James delivers with her erotic scenes, and leaves you swoony-sighing over her romance.
I’ve always been a fan of the characters Ms. James produces. They’re three-dimensional, realistic, flawed, and full of unique voice and personalities. With Anything Once, she continues this trend. Quinn and Ian are deep, wonderful characters who you latch onto and cheer on throughout the entire novel. You fan yourself over their hubba-hubba sex scenes, and tear up when they’re facing demons I wouldn’t wish on any couple. (Which, I should mention, is something Ms. James wishes everyone to be aware of going in… this book touches on the subject of infertility and the many ways it can affect a loving relationship. If this is a trigger for you, please go in prepared. She doesn’t treat it poorly, but it is a major plot point with ample page time.)
Overall, the tone of this novel, despite the heavy-hitting infertility subplot, is light-hearted and sexy. It’s a wonderful read if you’re feeling like something frisky and fun! I’d recommend this to any contemporary romance reader who isn’t afraid of erotic delight and can stomach a side of serious, heart-wrenching infertility battles.
It has great characters and character build!! It’s not just your typical contemporary romance!! It’s about married couple Ian and Quinn, they have a decent sex life. He just fantasizes about something more and he wife doesn’t disappoint. You just have to read this unique romance story!!

This book was definitely a light and fun read. There are some angsty parts but for the majority of the story it’s just plain hot! I enjoyed it! New to me author and I love the writing style and flow of everything. Definitely recommend!
This was by an author I had not heard of and when I saw it and read the blurb, I just jumped at reading this. The story quickly took over my afternoon and I couldn’t put it down. Quinn and Ian have been married for 10 years and while Quinn thought things were good, something was going on. No, there isn’t any cheating but this could still end a marriage. Both characters have to really reach deep into themselves and for awhile, you can just feel the struggles they each go through!!! To be honest, there were quite a few times I wanted to reach through and smack Quinn upside the head because it seemed she ran hot and cold on Ian and he never knew what to expect. He just rolled with the punches. Adding to the problems is that they aren’t able to have children. That would stress any couple out in itself. I loved the way Ian gave Quinn space to discover herself and never pressured her, although maybe he should have in some respects. Either way, this book just sucked me in from page one!!! Totally loved it!
Anything Once could be just enough.
That four letter word that turned her world on it’s axis. Catching her husband of 10 years in a compromising position with his computer viewing P.O.R.N.
How far would you go to save a marriage? Everyone has a line they will not cross, rightly or wrongly, but does that line match that of your husband, wife, or partner. So, how far would you go?
Anything Once is an exploration of a woman who realises that she may need to switch things up for herself, and for the man she loves after a decade of marriage and her restricted view to sex. My heart broke for them. They still adored each other, but life and disappointment had created walls of silence where before communication had been open.
It is a story of a couple rediscovering their love life after going through one of the hardest situations any couple could face, and doing so with open lines of communication, open minds and lots of different positions.
I loved Evie, who was such an amazing and encouraging friend who offered advice to Quinn with an attitude of fun.
Hot, steamy and very descriptive, and I would place it squarely in the contemporary erotica category. 4 Stars.
