Landon Connor is a man of many talents–all business magazines agree on that. My family calls me a workaholic, but being driven and career-focused is what turned me into a hotshot CEO. I have good reasons for keeping my personal life on hold. Then Maddie Jennings walks into my life and makes me question all my choices.Maddie says she hasn’t met anyone like me before, and hopes she never will … she never will again. Good. I can’t stand the thought of anyone else getting the reactions I do out of her when I boss her around, when I stand just a little too close.
Pretending to ignore the way I make her feel is becoming her full-time job.
I’m not ignoring anything about her, from her curves to the sweetness in her smile. She’s all I see, and everything I want.
Maddie can’t help giving in to my romantic overtures and the intoxicating feeling when we touch. But even as our passion grows, I can’t help but wonder—can I prove I’m ready to open my heart for longer than a summer?

I always love a sweet happily ever after!
Layla Hagen writes fantastically swoony and sexy contemp romances!!
Great book, wonderful characters that will make you believe in love again.
It’s wonderful!
An endearing story of mutual charisma, adoration, renouncement, self reliance and winning the love at the end!
Anything For You was the first book that I read by Layla Hagen and I loved it. It was free on Amazon and decided to give it a try. Anything For You is the first story in The Connor Family Series. I loved the story and the characters. I really enjoyed how the book is written in the first person and that the chapters are written from Maddie and Landon’s perspective. Who doesn’t love big families and romance. Anything for You is the story of Maddie Jennings, a landscape architect and Landon Connor, entrepreneur. Landon is CEO of DBC Systems, and decides to take a much needed two week vacation and head home to L.A. to visit with his three sisters and two brothers. Landon has just completed partnership negotiations and feels now is a good time to take some much needed time off. He hasn’t taken off more than long weekends, since he wife Rachel died four years ago. Landon arrives at his twin sister, Val’s house to discover Maddie. She is waiting on a delivery of timber poles that she will need to terrace Val’s yard. Landon helps Maddie with the poles even though Maddie insists she can do it on her own and that he is on vacation. Sparks fly between them and they become romantically involved, even though Maddie and Landon both vowed to not love again. Maddie because of a broken engagement and Landon because of the death of his wife. Love the plot twist, that helps Landon decides what is important in life. It was an outstanding story and Layla Hagen is an amazing storyteller. So looking forward to reading the remaining books in The Connor Family series and probably will read The Bennett Family series also. Who doesn’t love happily ever afters.
An incredibly sweet, sexy and beautiful romance that’s captivating and enthralling…
I was so sad when the Bennett Family series finished. It was actually a really emotional moment for me because it was one of the first series that I reviewed on the blog and I followed it release by release from beginning to end. It was also my go to feel good romance staple. You know; every time that I fell into a reading rut and I just needed a good pick me up the Bennetts were the ones that I turned to regularly, so when it came to an end I was bummed. But, Layla made my day when she said that the Connors were going to get their own series. If you’ve read the Bennetts you’ll have met the Connors and you’ll have probably been as intrigued by them as I was. Their family, although very similar to the Bennetts, seemed to have more of a tragic history. And, I am a sucker for a tragic past. I love a tainted hero or heroine. I like seeing them evolve and move past the sadness and heartbreak. There’s just something so fulfilling about love healing wounds and lifting a broken character from the ashes of woe and anguish. I know, I’m being a little melodramatic, but those wounds seem to add to the feel good of the romance.
So, Anything For You is the first book in the Connor Family series and it did not disappoint. Landon’s and Maddie’s story was just so brilliantly told. It wasn’t your usual workplace romance or second chance at love romance…because when it comes to Ms. Hagen, there is no round of the mill. This story was lighthearted and full of the feels. The chemistry was off the charts and the connection between the hero and heroine was so fundamentally organic and natural. It just was. There was no build up to it, there was no blatant epiphany of it. It was just there. It was like their souls had been waiting for the moment they crossed paths. Or even like they were already attached and that they were just waiting for fate to pull her strings.
What I really loved about this book was that it wasn’t try hard. There is a sadness that runs through the plot with both Maddie’s and Landon’s pasts and their ghosts, but Ms. Hagen never over dramatises that element. She just weaves it in ever so preciously and sensitively through the romance. Personally, I found that it grounded the characters and it also meant that you were never waiting for some big hoohah emotional melt down. Saying that, this is a romance and there has to be something that anchors their feelings to the point that the characters realise that their lust has evolved into a deep and unshakeable love…and yup. Layla Hagen nailed it. Again, it wasn’t this tsunami of poop hitting the fan. It was just life. It was real and it was personable and it was perfect. I think a lot of the time we have these big momentous bangs that take away from the romance, and yes, I like those too, but there is something to be said for subtlety. You know what I mean? Life isn’t about big gestures or big blow ups, it’s about the little things…the small yet life changing hurdles. And for me, Layla Hagen is just the queen of those moments. There is never a time where I think that she went crazy or over the top. She just has a knack for delivering a plot twist that is real and raw and…romantic.
I was expecting to see one or two of the Bennetts, and I thought I’d be disappointed if they didn’t show up. BUT actually, I liked that all we get is the Connor clan. I think that it allowed me to really embrace the new dynamics and get hooked on a new series. I found the Connor family just as easy to love. Valentina reminds me so much of Pippa and Summer put together. If that makes sense? But also, Hailey has some striking similarities to Alice Bennett. Honestly, Layla has really established the characters so well in this book. You have different characters, but very similar roles. Which I think gives the Connors’ different dynamic something that familiarises them to a reader that has already loved the Bennetts, it makes it super easy to love each and every one of them.
Personally, I loved Landon. He is just so sweet and so sexy with his straightforwardness and dirty talk. I loved that despite his tragic past he wasn’t close off and hard to read. He really is a great hero. He’s strong and grounded, but he also has his quirks that make him different to any of Layla’s other heroes. I liked that he didn’t play games and beat around the bush, that he was open to his feelings. He made this story so easy to fall in love with and to get lost in. Saying that, Maddie was just a sweetheart. Much like Landon, she is soft and tender, but she does have a feisty side that is strong and witty. Their interactions were just a pleasure to witness and coupled with their internal monologue…sweet baby Jesus…they are one hot couple! They really are soulmates. A perfect match.
Anything For You has left me super excited about the rest of the Connor Family series. I cannot wait for Will’s story. I love a man in uniform! But, then again I am on tenterhooks to get to know the rest of the clan on a more personal level. Seriously, I know that this is going to be my go to easy to read romance series for 2018/19. If Anything For You is anything to go by, the rest of the series is going to be phenomenal.
Sympathetic Characters. Great Chemistry.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am very happy to have discovered her. Landon Connor, CEO, returns to his hometown to visit his siblings, and meets his sister’s landscape designer, Maddie Jennings. Sparks begin to fly, but both Landon and Maddie know their time together is limited. I enjoyed this book because Landon and Maddie both felt like real people dealing with real problems, and their banter created great chemistry.
Another great story from Layla
I have read books from her and each bring together family and love. This one brings together two elder siblings that find each and each other happy. Landon with his twin Val helped raise his siblings after there parents died, but both have been so busy. Maggie runs her own landscaping company and met Val when she landscaped her business, now she is doing her home and that is where she meets Landan.
I really enjoy Layla Hager’s writing. All of her stories are romantic and sweet. Just enough heat to make her one of my favorite authors! I read all of her stories!!
enjoyed reading!
This is a wonderful story whose characters I loved from page 1!
Gorgeous series!
Great read
My favorite aspect of “Anything for You” (nook) is the intensity of the love between Landon and Maddie. Their attraction was instant and they followed their hearts. Of course there was the minor blip when Landon returned to San Jose and he and Maddie each thought his and her love was one-sided. But, Landon took a chance and it was HEA.
Layla Hagen is a relatively new author to me and with every book I read of hers I struggle to understand why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now.
Anything for You is Landon Connor and Maddie Jenning’s story and it’s book one in the Connor series and what a great introduction to the family.
Landon is a workaholic and he is back in LA with his family for the first time in a while, he is under strict instructions to leave work behind and have some quality family time.
Maddie is the landscape designer working on his twin sisters home so their paths were always going to cross but this is a couple not looking for romance …….
This book has all the feels and it ticked all my boxes, I love the characters, the story, the banter and the loyalty this family share and I can’t wait to pick up book 2 especially as I’m playing catch up with an author who is fast becoming one of my go too’s. I highly recommend you one click this this gem.
This is a good book that could have done with a little more plot and a little less sex.
I loved Anything For You! Layla Hagen’s writing is always so sexy and sweet, and Anything For You is a perfect example.
Landon has been a workaholic since he lost his wife, well, actually, even before he lost her, but more so since she’s been gone. He’s finally closed a huge deal and has decided (was coerced) to take a short vacation and go visit his family in LA. It’s there while at his sister’s home that he meets the sexy landscape artist rehabbing his sister’s yard. Maddie is a hardworking woman who moved to LA with an ex and stayed even after the ex went bye-bye. Between getting her business up and running, and taking care of her sister, she’s got little time for anything else, especially a relationship. But when she meets Landon, she just might be rethinking her busy schedule because their instant chemistry is the kind that simply cannot be denied or ignored.
I found both Landon and Maddie to be supremely likable, and together they were a perfect combination. I never fail to fall in love with Layla Hagen’s characters. They’re always layered, engaging, and interesting individually and when paired with their one, they’re sweet, sexy magic. Kudos to her for yet another sexy, sweet romance.
Easy to read romance with wonderful characters. I loved the tight-knit brother and sisters of Landon, who was the perfect hero. Yes, some might call him a workaholic, but he was driven to build something and he was successful. Maddie was a good fit for Landon, with an interesting career background. It is easy to root for these two in the hopes that they realize they complete each other, even though they have geographic hurdles after the summer.
L-O-V-E-D IT!! I actually binge-read the first 2 books back-to-back because I got hooked on the first one. Excellent, steamy happily ever afters! I’m hooked!
