Before you get down on bended knee…
…you should be pretty darn sure the answer will be yes. For ten years, Connor O’Rourke has been waiting for Jessica Dunn to take their on-again, off-again relationship public, and he thinks the time has come. His restaurant is thriving, she’s got her dream job at Blue Heron Vineyard–it’s the perfect time to get married.
When he pops the question, … pops the question, however, her answer is a fond but firm no. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Jess has her hands full with her younger brother, who’s now living with her full-time, and a great career after years of waitressing. What she and Connor have is perfect: friends with an excellent benefits package. Besides, with her difficult past (and reputation), she’s positive married life isn’t for her.
But this time, Connor says it’s all or nothing. If she doesn’t want to marry him, he’ll find someone who does. Easier said than done, given that he’s never loved anyone but her. And maybe Jessica isn’t quite as sure as she thinks…

Anything for You is the fifth installment in Kristan Higgins’s adult contemporary romance series titled Blue Heron. This book shows that the strong can still be incredibly fragile inside and the most patient and understanding person will eventually draw a line in the sand. Themes include alcoholism, absentee parenting, special needs, doing what it takes, and putting yourself dead last. Higgins brings a contrast of humor and heartbreak to a very real story of a girl trying the best she knows how and a boy who will do absolutely anything for her. Check it out
The Blue Heron is a series of romances set in the community of Blue Heron. Each book showcases a different couple with cameos from past/future characters. The series includes the following installments as of February 2018:

#2-The Perfect Match
#3-Waiting on You
#4-In Your Dreams
#5-Anything for You
This is book 5 of the Blue Heron series. It’s all about Connor O’Rourke and Jessica Dunn, aka Jessica Does. I’m undecided whether to give this one 3.5 stars or 4, so I’m comprising with 3.75 and bumping it up to 4. It’s a good read, but I didn’t connect with it as well as I did with the most of the other books in this series. Oh, the twin connection thing is more prominent in this one and that was super fun. Catching up with everyone else around Manningsport was great. Of course, Colleen and Lucas were as adorable as ever and it was great to see how things have gone for them.
My main issue? Jessica. Admittedly, she grew up in a nearly impossible situation. Both parents were alcoholics and she has a mentally disabled brother who she’s been in charge of since she was seven. She’s had some tough decisions to make and she did the best she could. Her whole life is dedicated to her brother, Davey. And that was kind of the issue that I had with her. Not that she was a great sister or that she raised her brother and is continuing to put him first. Nope, it’s that she pretty much discounted everyone else in the process of doing so. She sort of has a “the ends justify the means” attitude where Davey is concerned. She’s also a control freak, which I suppose is understandable considering the way she grew up.
I love Connor! Jessica made me want to slap her but once we got the back story it was easier to understand why she couldn’t accept his proposal (even though he shouldn’t have proposed to her when he did). It was so fun watching these two circle each other and even better watching Collin woo Davey. Definitely a perfect way to end this series!
Oh my! This poor hero. This poor, poor, POOR hero! Let’s nominate him for sainthood.
Long, long time crush/love for the heroine; he gets kicked in the teeth time and time again, and can’t settle on anyone else. This yearning goes on for years as in over ten years. Plus he’s a chef and Kristan Higgins lets us know by detailing some seriously yummy food porn. I’m trading my husband in.
I had some issues with the heroine based on past bad girl behavior and some past book snooty behavior, but the sweet hero is happy so okay.
Absolutely LOVE Kristan’s books! Great characters in heart warming story with a little romance. Just an overall “feel good” book.
Really loved the Blue Heron series.
Kristin Higgins never disappoints!
This is a fun and easy-to-read book. It’s the best kind of “rom-com” in book form! I devour all of Higgins’s books because I can always identify a little with the female lead.
Rags to Riches
The Blue Heron Series is dependable in the LOL department. It contains great characters, witty dialogue and a plot that puts a crack in the heart.
Once you pick up one book in this series you will be addicted and have to read them all. Enjoy!
