I loved everything about this book. The humor, the banter between characters, and story. The chemistry between Beau and Charlotte was strong. I couldn’t have picked two better matched people. I was hooked on this book right from the beginning. It also had me laughing right at the first meeting of the Beau and Charlotte. One of my favorite things was Charlotte’s love of fairytales. Those moments in the book were magical. Charlotte brings light and life back into Beau’s life. Only question will he accept a future with Charlotte when his past still haunts him. The last chapter was perfect and I couldn’t have asked to be ended any other way.
I am not what one would consider a girly-girl. Never really have been. I didn’t have Barbies and didn’t really want them. I enjoyed playing with my cousin’s once in a while, but usually I preferred my stuffed animals or (even better) my Tonka trucks. Pink is my least favorite color, followed closely by purple. I never went through a Disney Princess phase like many young girls, but I have always absolutely loved Disney movies. Still, I was surprised by how much Charlotte’s fantastical dreams caught my attention. It’s almost as if she’s the anti-me, but I guess at heart all (most) women are still suckers for the fairytale.
What better hero to make a heroine’s fairytale come true than one of the Braden boys? Beau is all you would expect from the men in that family. Rough, rugged, protective, gorgeous, kind, loving, and all smooshy on the inside. It’s partly due to his sense of honor and his protective nature that he carries such a huge burden of guilt about the death of his first love. Charlotte is so wonderful with slowly bringing Beau out of his self-imposed exile from real love without being pushy.
Charlotte has all but given up on love and sequesters herself up in her family’s old inn to write by herself day in and day out. Rarely does she venture into town or have much human interaction beside the phone calls to her best gal pals. How can any real life man measure up to the fantasies she creates in her erotic fiction writing? How can any relationship live up to those she saw between her parents and grandparents? Beau is the perfect foil for her self-imposed ban on relationships because he understands her need to write and immerse herself in her fictional world, but he’s also able to show her that real life can be just as fantastic, if not even better, than her stories.
These two are truly meant for each other. Watching them both grow emotionally throughout this story was a beautiful thing. Although the book takes place over less than 2 months, it still seemed to happen so naturally with Charlotte and Beau.
In this story, we get a huge introduction to the LWW.

I can always count on Ms. Foster and her wonderful words to save a horrible day. When I want to escape from the world, Ms. Foster has created the perfect world to fall right in to and forget reality. It is so wonderfully heartwarming to be able to count on a really good HEA that leaves you with the warm and fuzzies. Anything For Love is just another in a long line of Ms. Foster’s books that accomplish that.
Beau is what you would come to expect of a Foster hero and you will fall in love with him like all the rest. Charlotte is possibly one of the most fun quirky characters I have read in a long time. While Beau and Charlotte have a very opposites attract thing going for them, they are broken in a way that only the other can heal.
I really enjoyed the added bonus of this book being so much fun on top of romantic and steamy. I can’t wait to see what Ms. foster comes up with next!
What a steamy romantic sweet read! I had to read more books in this series!
Beau oh my god Beau, he has loved and lost and my heart just breaks for him, but Charlotte, oh my she is the best thing to ever happen to him.
The start of this book is hilarious! Beau has no idea what he has gotten himself into when he arrives at the Sterling Inn and finds moaning from behind closed doors and blow up dolls! Ok, so he discovers that it is actually Charlotte, enacting scenes for her writing – she is an erotic author and has to get her inspiration from somewhere to make her scenes realistic! From here we and Beau are privy to all of Charlotte’s quirks and for all I love all of Melissa’s book I don’t think any have make me smile and laugh so much than this one did.
Charlotte has lost all her family, and despite being alone she is the most loving, funny and carefree woman just waiting on her own fairy tale romance. Beau still hasn’t gotten over his first love who died in a tragic accident, and only agreed to come and help renovate the Inn to Hal as a favour but also as a means to escape his past and the anniversary of her death back home.
Knowing all that Charlotte has lost he thinks his loss is trivial in comparison but what Charlotte does is bring out the healing his heart needs to become whole again. They are just the best couple and go really well together, from the start the chemistry, laughter and romance is there and despite being opposites, together they can heal each others hurts away.
This is book 2 in The Bradens & Montgomerys series, part of the bigger Love in Bloom series by Melissa, and all her books are amazing as stand alone, but they are utterly wonderful if read as a series.
I’m a relatively new fan of Melissa’s having arrived late to the party but each book I read from her cements why she is fast becoming one of my top authors.
This book links with some of her previous series (which I am gradually working my way through) and this is Beau Braden’s story. Talk about one hot AF, totally swoon-worthy guy with good looks and a slight brooding nature which makes him even hotter. Especially when the walls he has built up around himself start crumbling down.
In effort to avoid his family and the pain and grief in his heart he has offered to go to help out with some repairs at Sterling House. The last thing he ever expected was to meet the sexy, quirky erotic romance author Charlotte Sterling and for her to bring his broken heart back to life again.
Melissa has weaved a brilliantly captivating tale of pain, grief, healing, fairytale romance all mixed in with some brilliant humour and off the charts chemistry.
Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down till I have finished (thank you world cup football :-))and I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see what happens next.
I have another favorite author!! This was my first Melissa Foster title, but won’t be my last. I’m so happy I ‘found’ this author. Can’t wait to get started on all of her books!
Gosh…where do I begin. What a great read!
Beau has loss in his past. He needs some time away and something meaningful to do. His family means well, but no, just no.
Charlotte also has loss in her past. She is quirky, lives life full out, and recently relocated to her deceased Grandfather’s Inn.
Beau’s need for closure and Charlotte’s need to move forward make this a must read. The interaction between Beau and Charlotte was fabulous…so much chemistry. I love how they treat each other. You see Beau blossoming as his relationship with Charlotte grows, and Charlotte is in her element, living her very own HEA…and not just one in her head!
PLUS…blow up dolls…not kidding, this was so great!
You need to read this book.
Anything for Love (The Bradens & Montgomerys [Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls], #2) by Melissa Foster .. I’m in love with this book… Charlotte Sterling ..exotic romance writer…lives alone at Sterling House her grandfather’s inn..no family left….. Beau Braden… can’t forgive himself after his first loves dies in a car accident…a handy man who fixes up houses and sells them…. this story had me laughing out loud from the first and both Charlotte and Beau are wonderful … this book has all the feels and I shed a few tears and loads of happy ones at their HEA. I want my own “chickendales”…. can’t wait for TRAILS OF LOVE Graham Braden and Morgyn Montomery’s story.
Charlotte Sterling is an erotic romance writer who after losing her last family member moves to the Inn her family have owned for many years she needs some solitude to get her writing back on schedule and she spends most of her days alone researching passionate scenes for her next book.
Beau Braden is trying to past some time waiting for a contract to start on a home renovation show he is to star in and he needs to keep busy as the anniversary of the death of his first love approaches so doing some work at Sterling Inn seems like perfect timing until he meets Charlotte and her collection of blow up dolls !!!
This book is about a couple lost who both know they need to move on but can’t find a way to get past the past, neither are looking for a relationship or even a fling but a few evenings filled with romance and intimate conversations makes them both realise there is a serious attraction and some sizzling chemistry between them but can they leave the past behind or will it haunt them forever. Anything for Love is about second chances it’s about realising you can’t carry guilt forever and first loves are not always our soulmates. I laughed out loud at some of the conversation this couple had and I loved being on Charlotte and Beau journey as they found love when they least expected it. Anyone who loves romance with the perfect mix of humour will want to be click this book.

Ruthie –
This book is part of the wonderful world created by Melissa Foster. I almost feel like I need not say more, but if you have never read one of her stories before then you are in for a HUGE treat, and I defy you not to want to read more. Each story is complete in itself, but forms part of a whole which is as good as can be. I have to admit that the cameo of Ty and Aiyla (Thrill of Love) had me sobbing… totally perfect as always.
Beau has spent ten years engulfed in guilt and avoiding his family and hometown due to… well, we do find out eventually, but it is a struggle for him to talk about it. In the spirit of avoidance, he goes to do some renovations on Charlotte Sterling’s Inn at the request of his brothers. Little does he know what he will find when he gets there.
Charlotte is a wonderfully unworldly author who lives mostly with her “props” for her erotic novels, and yes, you will laugh at some of the scenes… and wonder whether your favourite authors also adopt this method of plotting their writing !
As always in a Foster novel, family, friends, and a happily ever after are guaranteed themes, and this is true here too. Sadly, Charlotte’s family is all gone, and Beau has been avoiding going home to his. However, they still adore him and want him to be happy, so make sure he thinks about what he is doing and why he would deny himself a meaningful relationship even now.
As an aside – I loved the description of the Snow White cabin, it sounded absolutely amazing.

M/F Romance
So, this is the second installment in this series. I don’t believe that you need to read book one, but it could be helpful.
This book is more about learning to love again after loss. Both main characters have dealt with tremendous loss, but they each handled it very different. Charlotte has turned in on herself. She loves living through her books. Despite wanting to remember her family members, she hasn’t truly lived outside of the walls of the inn for quite some time.
Beau has dealt with his loss through guilt and running. He was playing the “what if” game for years. When he meets Charlotte, he sees that despite all of her loss, she’s able to still enjoy her life – to live her life.
Both characters need each other in order to be the best version of themselves. I think for me, this was not as great a romance or story as the first one, but it will still enjoyable.
Mary Jo –
Beau and Charlotte have both suffered loss and each have taken a very different path when it comes to handling that pain.
Beau has shut himself away, determined to wallow in the guilt of not being there, of playing the what if game for the last ten years. So much so, that he’s existed since the accident that took his girlfriend’s life but not really lived. He’s refused to talk about her to anyone, leaves town as the date of the accident approaches, and doesn’t want any absolution for what he believes is his betrayal and fool heartedness.
Charlotte has embraced the memories of the past, choosing to live in her grandparents’ inn in the mountains of Colorado after her grandfather passed away. She feels closer to her parents there, as well as her grandparents. Losing her parents at seventeen was heartbreaking but at least she had her grandfather to lean on as she learned to live again. Having him show her how to smile through the tears is what makes her strong, to face her fears.
What it doesn’t do is make Char live outside of the stories in her mind. She’s turned inside herself, living through the stories she writes because she’s comfortable in that life, in that world. When Beau shows up to do some minor repairs ahead of the Mad Prix race, Char’s reminded that there is an outside world.
Beau is amazed at Char, at how she still has a zest for life after all of trouble life has handed her. As Char quietly gets under his skin, he realizes that her quiet strength is just what he’s been looking for – he just didn’t know it.

I read Embracing Her Heart, #1 in the Bradens and Montgomerys series by Melissa Foster, which I adored. These books can easily be read as a standalone if you’d prefer to skip around. Foster easily grabbed my attention and had me. I have definitely warmed up to Foster and as an avid reader of contemporary romance books, Foster has hands down won me over after reading Anything for Love.
After losing her last living relative, Charlotte Sterling moves to her grandfather’s Colorado Mountain inn, choosing to spend most of her time alone writing erotic romance novels because the guys she meets don’t compare to the dashing men in her head. However, that all changes when Beau Braden arrives to do some work on the inn. Beau has never quite recovered from losing his first love and continues to carry around a lot of guilt over her death. Doing some work on a secluded mountain inn sounds like exactly the kind of escape Beau needs as the anniversary of her death approaches. But he had no idea what he signed up for after meeting Charlotte.
I was completely smitten by Charlotte and Beau’s story. Also, the chemistry between Charlotte and Beau was literally OFF THE CHARTS. I just can’t get over what a perfect combination of heat and romance this story was. Also, I loved how Charlotte’s character was such a romantic. Plus, let’s talk about how swoon worthy Beau is! I was so invested in these characters and I easily fell in love with them both. This series just keeps getting better and I’m looking forward to seeing what Foster is up to in her next installment!
5 STARS for Melissa Foster’s Anything for Love
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Anything for Love (The Bradens & Montgomerys #2) by Melissa Foster to read and review.
I loved this book. I laughed, happy cried and over all was happy reading this book. Melissa is correct when she says you can read her books as a stand alone or as a series. I think Charlotte was the perfect match for Beau. The way she drove him crazy in a good way was fun and funny to read about. I think Beau grounds her in ways she didn’t know she needs and to gain such a huge and loving family. I can’t wait to read more from these families.
Anything for Love is the first of the many books published by Melissa Foster that I have read. A romance with humor and lots of sex. I found myself laughing at parts like the “Kiss, not cock.” line and the blow-up dolls. The story was entertaining and touching at the same time. Charlotte Sterling is a writer of erotic romance, yet a believer in real life love and romance. Beau Braden is haunted and guilt-ridden from a loss of a woman he loved. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Loved the fairy-tale like editions to Charlotte and Beau’s story. I did find the many characters from previous books a bit distracting. Perhaps, I would have enjoyed their inclusion if I had read some of the books they were previously featured in. That said, I hope to go back and read some of the earlier books about the Bradens & Montgomerys.
No one can make me fall in love the way Melissa Foster does with every book she writes. Just when I think I’ve got a favorite from her she goes and makes me love a new book just as much. There’s something special and unique in every story she writes and with Anything For Love, that special something is Charlotte. I have never in my life adored any character the way I do her. While her and Beau’s romance is a thing of beauty filled with deeply moving emotions and sweet romance it was Charlotte herself that stole my heart.
She has such a kind and imaginative soul! One second I’d be cracking up at her Charlotteisms and the next my heart would be melting and the sweetness that lived within her. I can’t even begin to explain what an incredible woman she is. Most importantly though, she’s exactly the woman Beau needed in his life. Right from the first hilariously chaotic meeting she was pulling this isolated broody man into her world filled with hopes, dreams, and fairytales.
Even with all the light Charlotte brings there’s still a beautifully emotional depth to their story that completely envelops you in their world. I did everything while reading this. Full on belly laugh, cry, happy sigh, you name it I did it while I was wrapped up in everything about these two!
This was my first Melissa Foster…
I loved how Beau just accepted the ‘crazy’ that surrounds Charlotte. His easy acceptance made the dark cloud (of guilt) that followed him around a little lighter (easier to read). Charlotte is almost manic about her writing…makes me wonder how much of Charlotte’s ‘research’ Melissa Foster has experienced versus invented – either way, it was humorous. I hope to peek back in with this couple in a year or so…get an extended HEA for them.
P.S. The author has a long back list that will keep me busy until her next release.
Quirky, hilarious and oh so sexy! With the next book in The Braden and Montgomerys series, we get Beau Braden’s story. He’s carrying a lot of baggage in his heart and meeting free spirit Charlotte is like a breath of fresh air. Neither of them were looking for a relationship, nor even wanted one … but they can’t ignore the fireworks that explode every time they look in each others eyes. The characters are a lot of fun to read and the plot was enjoyable.
Beau Braden lives a life filled with guilt and regret over the loss of his first love. Every year when the anniversary of her death rolls around, he hits the road to get as far away from the memories as he can. This year, it just so happens that his journey takes him to a rustic inn in the Colorado Mountains. He’s agreed to do some repairs as a favor to some family members. What he doesn’t expect is to be taken with the sprite of an owner. She’s like nothing he’s ever experienced before, and he has to admit, he feels more alive than he has in years when he’s in her company!
Erotic romance author Charlotte Sterling lives in her own little world. Amidst her quirky Sterling House, her sex toys and blow up dolls, she’s a solitary figure who finds her joy in life by creating fairy tales in her imagination that just so happen to strike a chord with her horde of fans! She’s alone in life, after losing her last family member … but she doesn’t let it bring her down. She loves what she does for a living, she loves her quaint sanctuary, she just loves life!
Charlotte is an erotic romance writer (who moved to her family Inn in Colorado after losing family members). She moved to take care of the Inn and live a life where no one bothered her because she’d never find love again and gave up on that idea a while ago. Men, like she writes about, just don’t exist in real life. However, when Beau shows up she’s second guessing that whole I don’t need a man thing. She’s got her work cut out for her with him!!
Beau lost the love of his life and the guilt is unbearable sometimes. He’s not looking for love or anything else with a woman……..or so he thought.
Loved Charlotte and Beau together!! You never know when love will find you! These two certainly weren’t looking for love but………..
You know that author that you have heard good things about for years but never had the opportunity to read? Well, Melissa Foster is one of the authors I have wanted to read books by for some time but have never found one of her books on a shelf in the country I live in. So, when I was given the opportunity to take part in a blog tour and read this book I snapped it up immediately AND what a delightful story it proved to be!
This story has characters that were perfect for one another. They care and share and really get to know one another and give and laugh and have interesting quirks and they made me smile and laugh and were oh so relatable. Their families are a big part of making them the generous supportive adults they have become capable of having a mature loving relationship. Beau and Charlotte had characteristics and personalities that brought out the best in one another and watching their relationship grow was wonderful. I could not stop reading once I started.
The descriptions of scenery, emotions, people, interactions, situations and scenes in the boudoir (and out) made me feel I was part of the story. The dialogue was true to life and the story flowed flawlessly. There are many characters mentioned that I would love to know more about and see star in stories of their own AND I would love to have many of them be friends of my own.
Did I enjoy this book? Definitely
Will I read more by this author? Without a doubt
Thank you to the author who bequeathed me a copy of this charming book – This is my honest review.
Another great read by Melissa Foster. I love these intertwined stories of the Braden’s and Montgomery’s. They all have such amazing characters and well written stories. I love getting drawn further into the lives of these families.
This book takes us through the lives of an erotic romance novel writer and a renovation expert. I find it a joy to get into the lives of these new characters while catching up with some old friends I’ve previously read about. I liked how we got to see how the story progressed throw the eyes of two people who had suffered through a life changing event, and process the change in such different ways.
I quickly fell in love with the quirky writer Charlotte Sterling. Anyone who loves Twix bars that much get high marks in my book! Her passion for her writing and her love of fairy tales and life in general make her such an endearing character. She’s both strong and secure as well as soft and vulnerable. She makes the perfect match for tough guy Beau Braden. Beau is a man who is loyal and kind and very logical and practical. Both are suffering in their own way, and their time togther forces them to deal with their pasts to get to a better place to work on a future.
Charlotte and Beau have it going on! Despite each starting out in a headspace where they don’t seem ready to meet someone, or don’t want to meet someone, you know it’s going to happen. And when it does it’s better than blow up dolls and chocolate. 🙂 Honestly, I think the chemistry works so well because Charlotte and Beau weren’t looking for it, and are so different. But, as Charlotte says, “He tasted of lust, fire, and the unique flavor of Beau.” But it’s not all just sexxxy times, there’s a real connection between the characters, which makes their chemistry work even better.
“…the heart is like a garden. If all the elements are right, it can breathe life into a wilting soul.” Ms. Foster breathes life into her characters and story. The detail for the locations, characters, and emotions draw you in and create a real world you can delve into. I loved each and every way the story progressed and the way the characters dealt with their lives. It was both realistic and romatic and novel in the most endearing “romance novel way.”
I love reading about the Braden and Montgomery families. They’re amazing in their loving, loyal, dysfunctional way. Ms. Foster weaves such loving and romatic tales using charismatic and realistic characters, not only people but also the homes and towns, that I love to jump into all her books for a good escape of reality. I look forward to reading more of her novels and finding out how it all turns out for Charlotte and Beau.
Star Ratings:
Plot = 5/5 Characters = 5/5 Heat = 5/5 Writing Style = 5/5 Overall Rating = 5/5
I love how consistent Melissa Foster is with her writing. With each book of hers that I read, I find real characters with lives that are believable and friends that are so true to each other. Each book is a new and amazing story with no cliffhangers. The characters from other books in the series make an appearance so we can catch up with what is happening in their lives while meeting new characters that we hope to learn more about in future books.
Anything For Love is the story of Charlotte and Beau. Charlotte lives alone in her family’s mountain inn while Beau is running from his home after losing his high school sweetheart. Beau is a man who loved, lost, and now blames himself. He takes jobs that require traveling just to stay away from his home. When asked by Hal Braden (I love him and his matchmaking) to take a job helping Charlotte with repairs at the inn he jumps at the chance. Charlotte seems oblivious to much that happens around her. She is so wrapped up in her writing that she lives in a fiction world most of the time. Together they work together. Charlotte pushes, pulls, and supports Beau while he tries to find his way back to happiness and Beau forces Charlotte to open her eyes to the world around her.
I am excited for this series to continue. The Braden’s and The Montgomery’s coming together is a set of books is a dream come true. They are perfect together and I cannot wait to see where these two families are headed.
Charlotte, or Shortcake, and Burly Beau meet, and the chemistry explodes between them. Sometimes the hardest thing is to forgive oneself, and Beau is very much in need of doing that one thing, after his girlfriend was killed about 10 years ago in a car wreck. Charlotte is a writer of erotic romances. There are parts to this book that are so steamy hot, and others that will keep you laughing. It is a wonderful book and story, and I highly recommend it.
