I read this book once on Kindle Unlimited. Since you can only keep 10 books borrowed, I moved on. But I remembered it and tried a number of times to find it for a reread. Sports romance? Rom com? It’s finally turned up again and I was delighted to reread.
Wonderful flavor of Charleston
Enjoyed this book. Easy to read, held my interest and a different story line.
This book made me laugh out loud multiple times even though my family looked at me like i was crazy. The characters are wonderful and I love a good baseball book.
Loved it!
I have the need for speed and it due to a smoking hot fastball throwing pitcher. Holly smoke Rafe was fantastic. I loved everything about him. Alice was quirky, nerdy, has no filter and a little weird but I liked her. She made me laugh out loud. I adore her and Rafe as a couple. I also enjoyed the supporting characters especially Andy and I’m looking forward to reading his story. The only reason that I didn’t give this book five stars was because for me the story was a little slow in spots.
Easy read
My first by Kate Stewart! I enjoyed this well written story and characters! I liked the strong, smart(ass) female, especially that she wasn’t afraid to adventure alone!! I look forward to more from this author!!
Good book to read
Was a real good book. Rage and Alice were interesting people who built an interest romance
A baseball player that’s all about the home run. The new girl in town that is all about living her best life each day. He thought getting what he want was always going to be easy…until her!
Alice is sassy and lacking a filter. Raised by a strict mother, akin to that nutty mother in Carrie, she’s now on her own and ready to take on anything. She’s a strong, independent woman who wants it all!
Rafe is in the minor leagues for baseball, waiting for his call up to the majors. Everyone keeps telling him it’s his year…he sure hope’s so. He’s also a manwhore. It’s all about fun and good times, especially with the ladies.
Alice is a challenge. She’s is not going to just fall into his bed. She’d rather be friends than a notch on his bed post. However, their sexual tension is off the charts and eventually there is no holding back. But Alice isn’t a one time girl…she’s the forever kind. She’s the girl without an end.
This is a story about Rafe and his game changer. Sweet, sexy, hot and full of great banter. She’s no shrinking violet. Rafe has met his match and she’s perfect for him.
Had a hard time connecting with the characters. While the sexy times were steamy, the lack of building of the MC’s relationship is what really killed it. It was kind of like insta-love, maybe? The heroine, while super smart, lacks common sense, but her attitude of wanting to live the best life everyday was endearing. The hero is hot tempered and totally sexy, but maybe a little too accepting of her quirks too quickly.
I had a lot of issues with the details. For one, the summary of the book is a bunch of one liners from the MCs as if they are having a conversation, please just give a summary so I have a better idea of what to expect. One minute the heroine is standing in the shower suffering from a sunburn, but it’s never mentioned again (that stuff takes time to heal). The hero coaches little league every Saturday. I can’t imagine a minor league ball player, who travels would have time to coach ball every Saturday. Also he wants her to visit at away games and stay with him. No way that’s happening, players share rooms, even in the big leagues (this goes for pretty much all sports). If an authors mentions things like this, it should be followed up on or better research done (pet peeve).
I absolutely love a good RomCom and this one yes ,,,,,Hit it out of the park!
Alice is so sweet funny and yes nerdy/quirky . Rafe is our bad boy of baseball and together they are fabulous. The witty sexually charged banter was so much fun to read! This will have you laughing out loud and cheering for them !
Loved it !!

I’ve got a cure for anything that ails you, and it’s called Anything But Minor. Kate Stewart knocks it out of the park in this feel-good sports romance that’s hilarious, sweet, and deliciously sultry.
I have the biggest girl crush on nerdy Alice! Her crazy antics seriously left me in tears. I love her Google addiction, her obsession with 80s movies, her sassiness, her truthfulness, and especially her imperfections. Most of all, I appreciate the way she fearlessly embraces every opportunity. Her ability to end even the crappiest day by declaring it the best day ever is so stinking endearing.
Rafe? Well, he’s only the most lovable piece of athletic man candy to cross my Kindle in awhile. He has no ego, no pretense, and he’s completely enamored with my girl, Alice. She’s a smart flight instructor (à la Kelly McGillis in Top Gun), he’s a gifted minor league baseball player, and together they create some intense chemistry. The bedroom scenes may pack a bit of heat, but there’s a surprising amount of humor mixed in.
There are a couple of minor characters that might have enhanced the story even more if better utilized, but the book doesn’t lack for interesting supporting characters. I especially loved Dutch, the faithful baseball fan, as well as Rafe’s best friend, Andy.
The book takes place in Charleston, South Carolina, and you can tell the author has an affinity for the area. The city is almost a character unto itself, and seeing the town through Alice’s eyes makes her a fantastic tourist guide.
Anything But Minor is an utterly enjoyable book that combines the best of comedy and romance. I highly recommend it if you’re looking a light pick-me-up that will make you swoon and smile.
Kate is one of the authors that I one click every time she publishes. Now with authors I automatically one click, there is always one book that to me is the one I think is the author’s best one as far. Well for Kate, Anything But Minor is now my favorite one by her.
I loved Alice. She is real and down to earth. She the character that if she was real, she would be someone I would want to be friends with. I may have a little girl crush on Alice. With Alice you get what you get and the things that come out of her mouth sometimes are super funny. I think Rafe describes her best “There was nothing generic about her. She didn’t hold back on anything, not her wrath, her opinion, or her compliments, which she gave freely.”
Alice has moved Charleston, South Carolina for a new job as a flight instructor. She is exploring her new town and ends up at a baseball game where she meets Dutch. Dutch is an older woman who has season tickets. Alice doesn’t know much about baseball but Dutch shares her extra seat with her. Rafe is a super sexy baseball player. He’s on the verge of being call up to the Majors. He’s a ladies man. He has his eyes set on Alice. The chemistry between them is great.
This is great read. You should definitely one click. Just a warning though you may be laughing out loud so pick your reading spot carefully. 🙂
If I could I would give it way more that 5 stars!!
The is the second time reading this book. Love it!
This book was hilarious!!! I couldn’t stop laughing with Alice..
Alice, she was a “nerd and geek” in a sexy kind of way. hot and smart with a very big heart..
Alice, moves to Charleston trying to move on with her life and make something from herself in the aviation industry. She is a pilot and a flight instructor.. She decided to blend in with the locals and attend a baseball game, not knowing this game will change her whole life forever.
Rafe, a succesful baseball player that has any women he wants, concentrating in his career and looking forward to get into the major leagues.. not knowing where his life was about to take..
until she sees her, a game changer for life..
I love Kates writing and Anything but minor is not the exception.. Alice is just an amazing character that brings so much to the story, her attitude, her charisma everything makes things more sweeter in the story.. she is strong and doesn’t like anybody to see her vulnerability but yet she always have something nice to saw and answer to give..
Rafe a great hero, he was always a gentleman, he was strong and also funny, he was submmiten with Alice, always looking for her and in someway that made them a great pair..
There’re other great characters in the story, Andy, Christina and many more..
you’re going to love Alice and Rafe, you can feel their chemistry since the very beginning, even if at first Alice wanted only a friendship.. Rafe never gave up and always knew they should be together, they belonged together..
Another Amazing book by Kate..
If you were waiting for it Anything but Minor it is LIVE!!!! and the latest book by Kate Stewart. I am always excited to read a new book by this author because her characters are always interesting and she can write her pants off.
Initially, my feelings towards the characters were “meh”. I thought they were OK, a little crazy but I liked them. At some point in the story I found myself laughing out loud at some of their antics. Kate words transcends on paper and her characters become more than just words. You feel their pain, you fall in love when they do and I fell in love with both Rafe and Alice and I had no idea when it happened.
Anything But Minor takes two people from completely different worlds who meet and the rest is hysterical.
Alice character was refreshing. She was strong minded, funny with some of the things she does but she will always say random things that will put a smile on your face.
Overall, great story with even better characters. Story line has a good pace and was an awesome light read that I enjoyed a whole lot. If you love to laugh and fall in love with a hot Athlete then this is the book for you my friends.
Anything but Minor was such a fun, witty, sexy rom-com and I laughed so hard while reading this book. Alice is just one of those memorable heroines (parasailing……hahahaha, I will never forget that part) and I absolutely adored her. Rafe, a minor league player destined for the majors, meets Alice in the funniest of ways….and he was hooked. The chemistry between them was incredible – Rafe brought out something in Alice that she never knew was there. They were absolutely perfect together.
Kate Stewart has quickly become one of my favorite authors…..and after reading this one, I just love her even more!
3.5 rounded to 4. After reading some dark stories I needed something light, funny, and purely entertaining. The review guaranteed I’d find all that, and maybe more, in Anything But Minor. Also, being a baseball story, and me being a HUGE baseball fan, this has to be good, right? Right??
Well, I’ve got to say this one pretty much has it all as far as pure entertainment; there’s sass, steam, snark, and scenes that will have you laughing out loud. Plus, there’s baseball!!! The banter is witty and filterless. This is a quick read that’s totally fun.
